Hello I just bought this clipper off Amazon, I am waiting for it to arrive but many of the reviews said it craps out after a couple of months / turns on by its self etc… how has this trimmer treated you?
This video taught me more about what guards to use when using a beard trimmer (rather than hair clippers) than any Beardbrand video ever did. Good work, fella. Exactly what was needed.
Really found that video helpful as I have just purchased a Phillips 7000 Multigroom trimmer. Great to see the difference as I have never grown a beard. I am 76 years old and have just not shaved for about 6 weeks due to lockdown. I have now looked at many videos. I always thought a beard was just not shaving!! Wow - it's an art form.
Excellent video, good to see before you do it, I recently started wearing 6mm from years of a full beard, I then went 3mm and hated it but it grew back in days fortunately, well done.
This is really helpful thank you! I'm trimming my beard for the first time after 11 weeks of growth tomorrow so was great to get an idea of what length to go
@@TLSA_ my beard was around 15mm and i took it down to 9mm and honestly it looks more professional and clean, before that i had so many stray hairs coming out from my cheeks and thin it looked like an ISIS type of beard
Sorry just seen your comment! I went for lots of lengths but I've settled on 7mm, my beard is quite patchy so going for a short and neat length has really worked well. Glad you've found a good length too!
Exactly the type of video i was looking for! This vid will definitely help me while i wait for all my beard hair follicles to finally mature! My fav is definitely 5 and 3
Thank you so much! This comment means a lot because trying to think of new ideas can be a bit of a challenge since i'm sure most of my subscribers subbed for a minox update in the first place
@@LanDope In context, now that we are in a lockdown (spain) your tips about hair trimming where really usefull 🤣. But this video about beard lenght helps to ease the fear about shaping it. I'm looking forward your next video!
Trimming your beard was the video I seen so far on TH-cam, I started growing mine about four weeks ago need to trim it now, I like the #2 that you did maybe I’ll go with that.
I want to thank you for creating this video. I wanted to see how 5mm looks like as I am planning to buy a trimmer which only has three trim numbers 1,5 & 7. Thanks a lot. God bless you.
Perfect video for this first time face warmer owner after a successful no shave november run! Now looking for uniform length and this gave me a good idea! Thank you!
Thank you. I started growing my pandemic beard on March 13 since I have been on permanent lock down. Now I look like the homeless guy outside of the 7-11. I am thinking I need to trim my beard so I don't scare the neighbors. Your instructions help so I won't mess it up. Now if you could do a video on trimming the hair on my head, that would also be much appreciated.
Lol! I'm glad this video was able to help out. I do have a few haircut videos on my channel of you wan't to check them out. Only thing is I use clippers only
Nice vid. I've been messing around seeing if I can go from 10 to 16 or 18 and surprised how hard it is to just find clear cut examples online until this vid
I just started trimming the beard today. And I used a 5 mm and it was good. But it was a bit shorter than I thought. But I guess the higher the millimeter, the shorter or the higher the millimeter, the less hair it will cut.
Its the first time I am going to clip my beard... I am sooo nervous that I don't mess it up!! Your video was a great help to see the different lengths.. thanks you. Wish me luck lol.
I keep my beard 12mm trimmed because I don’t want it too thick but I was it to be kinda thick to the point I can comb it and it’s all eventually shaped so the 12mm perfect for me
please make a vid on 1. shaping neck line to make jaw look sharp 2. cheek area shape up and how to identify the shape if you dont really have a natural shape.
I had the 1mm subtle beard for some years already and now growing a little longer to 3mm and I will probably try 5 or 6mm. But I found that the longer my beard grows the sparse or “patchy” certain zones of my face looks, especially on jaws or chicks. My chin and mustaches are pretty full but with longer beard they seems to pop up since they are fuller than my chicks. Better to trim down to 3mm or let it grow regardless?
Bro I saw you on a vid from 7 months ago with urban. I already have a “beard” I guess but you really inspired me to start using minoxidil bcuz my under lip is super thin and my stache connects pretty weak to my chin. If I can get the same results as you in those spots I’d be stoked!! Wish me luck, much love.🙏
Excellent video. Like many others here have said, I too needed to see the different lengths. Started to trim my own beard but not great at it. Do I shave up or down when trimming my beard. Against the grain or with?
Nice! 9-7 is a good look for me. I just did a 3mm trim and I want it back lol. Any tips on getting acne after you trim? Anyone have this problem. Just used it with the guard and still got acne! I’m 32 for god sake

I've had it for over 3 years and everything is still working just fine 👍🏼
Thanks bro I needed to visually see what 12mm, 9mm, 6mm, and 3mm looked like and now I have an idea. Thanks a lot
I'm glad this video has helped!

Not on this trimmer

Hey thanks for taking your time to watch!
big facts tried to shape up my beard thinking I didnt need a guard and had to chop it all off. This video is perfect!

This was amazing to read, especially since they're the top beard guys on youtube! Thank you man!
@@LanDope can I get 1mm and 2 mm comb in the market for my trimmer actually I have lost the comb.
I think it is best to check the Philips website to see if they sell replacement combs
I almost fucked up, buyed a trimmer with only 1 to 5mm lenght, I just canceled and going for a 1 to 10mm one, nice video very helpful

Lol yes keeping the beard nice and well groomed is much needed. Thanks for watching!
So far you are the only person to have made a video like this. Someone needs to demonstrate different lengths for hairy chests.

Im a fan of the 13mm. It still keeps the right amount of fullness while keeping it nice, short, and comfortable
You explained this better than the barber & they cut hair for a living Thanks!
I got the same product today and just searched how to use it, and luckily your videos comes up. Thanks
This is what I have been wanting before buying a trimmer. Now I know what those sizes actually do. Thanks mate 🤘

3mm looks bad ass on you. I stick with 5mm, just because any lower than that becomes stubble, rather than a beard. Good video.

What about trimming downward instead of upward? I just heard it can be beneficial for a fuller look even on short medium beard.
You can do that too. I believe that leaves the beard a little longer than what the mm of the guards show
Thanks buddy for this. Needed to see the difference.
Thank you man! Thanks to you i've learned a lot about taking care of myself lol
Awesome to know man! Reading comments like this let me know people enjoy it and make me feel good that you guys are using my tips. Much love brother!

I think the only real answer is to try it and see how you. Whatever you feel kost confident in or you looks the best on you is what should be done
3mm for beard 5 mm for moustache thanks i found my perfect combo 😮

One question sir that I already have baby hairs above my cheek bones using minoxidil will it be matured because it looks weird.please answer me sir.
I had the same thing when I started, I suggest foam if you can buy that because liquid gave me more unwanted hair than foam did.
Thanks sir

I don't know anything about body massage oils lol
Thanks brother. I appreciate your effort 😌❤️
God damn I love this, exactly the video I was looking for think ima go for the 5 mm
I do my beard with the 3mm setting too, just right.
The clippers I got have guards that say “3 day, 5 days, 7 days” is there a more specific measurement, maybe in mm?
Well the average beard growth in a week is 3 mm i believe, so I can only assume 7 days is close 3 mm or so
The higher means more lengthy beard and vice versa right ?
Yes 👍🏼
Appreciate the video. Helps a lot. Thank you!
Nice and informative video bro
My clipper has just 3 guards the largest one is 3mm, can i buy larger guards separated?
You would have to check online to see if extra size guards are made for your specific clipper or brand
