I feel that another way one can be elegant and educated on a budget it also through the knowledge of family members, such as grandparents. They have gained a lot of skills and knowledge through their lives that we learn a part of their history, how everything was back then, and it makes you curious to learn more how everything used to be in the times where they lived, not to mention the way of fashion that was around back in the day. Well Lisa, English is my first language and you speak beautifully ✅ and my other and final point is...if you were to change your accent, then you would lose your authenticity. The lack of elegance, to some extent is due to the hyper individualism, strangely enough imo! I LOVE individual expression but LET ME EXPLAIN: In current times, some don't want to draw attention to themselves, whereas in previous times the individual stood to REPRESENT somethiNG LARGER and GRANDER than just themselves; be that FEMININITY, or a certain CLASSY-ness or a certain larger allegiance to something GRANDER than each individual (that's one of the reasons why school kids wore smart-looking school uniforms bc you represented the values of that institution). OTHERS currently want to stand out in 'odd' ways redefining what is feminine. To me that's like a cook refusing to learn from the great masters and traditions who have refined the fine art of exquisite cooking to a T as a basis for their individual expressions.
