    Received my ND filters yesterday. Got out my notes from your Exposure video. Watched this one and made more notes. It was a bright midday, so used the ND16 filter. The screen went from way overexposed to great colour. Amazing results for such a little accessory. Thank you for the simple to understand videos for beginners you are producing, please keep producing these. I am learning a lot. The next step for me is to build confidence in playing with the different settings for the environment I am filming.

    I have my first set of Polar Pro filters, ND and polarising at nd4, nd8 and nd16 and while they work OK, the nd16 does not reduce enough for bright sunlight where I live in Sydney Australia where we get very severe contrasts. I hooked a set of cheapies to test nd32 and nd 64 and wonder if its worth the cost of buying the Polar Pro versions for these values. Good review !

  • @hamzamalik8988
    @hamzamalik8988 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do you know which ND filter to use. Like the way you mentioned if it's 1/60s, you'd use ND 32 and at 1/120s, you'd use ND 16. Do you just try it and see which sits right for the exposure

    This is a great video! Thank You!.... regarding filters... how do you know which filter to use and when?

    • @PolarProFilters
      @PolarProFilters  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Drew Trains, glad it helped! In terms of what filters to use, it depends entirely on the outdoor lighting conditions and your intended look of your footage. For example, in extremely bright mid-day conditions you would want to use an ND32 or ND64; whereas if it was golden hour, you would not want to use a filter this dark. For further details and specifics, feel free to reach out to our support team as they will be happen to answer any questions (: support@polarpro.com

    @PolarPro I am very interested in vlogging on the trail with the dji osmo. Couple of questions, how do I zoom, is through the phone or the actual camera. How about the built in mic? Is it good enough to pic up my voice in the outdoor environment?

    • @PolarProFilters
      @PolarProFilters  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Osmo Pocket has a fixed focal length and unfortunately does not allow you to zoom. The built in mic is okay, but has a tendency to pick up a lot of background noise when shooting outside-- we would suggest using an external mic like we used in this video: th-cam.com/video/LW3ao5BcyQo/w-d-xo.html

    Thanks for the tips! I’m
    Torn between the cinema series - shutter & the Vivid with ND/PL.
    Question: does the rotation of the bezel on the Vivid series just orient the gradient horizontal, like on the Mavic set or does it lessen and increase a holistic amount of polarisation across the filter? I’m finding conflicting info on the web. Thanks in advance if you get the chance to answer. All the best!

    • @PolarProFilters
      @PolarProFilters  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dan, Thanks for watching and hope the tips help you on your next use of the OP! You are correct, the Vivid series is designed similar to that of the Mavic set in regards to the orientation. Hope this helps narrow the decision but let us know if you have any further questions!

      Great question, its all to the frame rate you are looking to use. The same logic applies just different variable values.

    Thank for your clip. I have a question : how can you decrease the speed 50%? Do you use the other video maker to do that after or direct in Osmo pocket?

    I have the PolarPro Standard 6 Pack for my Osmo Pocket and my first outing produced some amazing results. I was paragliding a mountain site, in NorCal at about 7pm. I selected an ND16, because I knew I would be flying until deep into sunset and wouldn't have a chance to change values (100% occupied by flying). Basically, I launched, got settled, turned on the camera, hit record and didn't think about it until I touched down. I shot Cine-like and color graded in Davinci Resolve 16. The resulting video is very satisfying, especially for a first attempt.
    The only issue I had, which is pretty specific to my application; I blew a launch attempt the next night and the filter flew off! Fortunately, it caught in my 'flight deck', so it wasn't lost forever.
    One technical note: I shot 1080p, and then rendered and uploaded at 4k. I find the TH-cam compression does a better job, than going straight 1080p, for some reason.

    My footage looks great, but is there a reason I still get jittery video playback when I pan the OP even after I apply the 180-degree rule and have a ND filter on? Should I be panning way shower then normal? What am I doing wrong? Thanks

      Hey Rey,
      It sounds like this might be a playback issue, rather than a footage issue. Please feel free to contact our support team to better assist you with this: support@polarpro.com

    I realize this may be a question for DJI but I’m experiencing some skipping or flickering when I am panning. I believe to have all my pro setting perfectly setup for certain shots and it will often still do this. Any idea why?

      Sorry to hear Jamie! Sounds like an issue on the DJI side of things, best to ask them directly.
