I'm asperger myself. And I noticed that, When Aspeger tell a story,
They still LIVED in their story.
Their visual cortex projected the video of the memory, flashback that keeps coming back every time we mentioned something, which makes them FEELS like they just experience it yesterday. Combined with the PTSD from Afghanistan, I can feel that he tried so hard not to deep dive into that moment. It is something that I hope many people would understand despite they usually don't.

I was told I have Asperger’s a few months ago. It’s got a lot of pros and cons. It means I either fit in to a group or don’t fit in with no middle ground. I’ve got a good bs detector and a good long term memory, but letting go is difficult at the best of times.

I was diagnosed being on spectrum as a kid. I'm either high functioning autistic or have Aspergers myself. Dating is still the hardest thing for me to do. Statistically I'm doing well in other areas of my life. I have a full time job, went to college. I've heard 60% of people on the spectrum are unemployed. I'm really into weightlifting and making electronic music. The best luck I had with girls was when I was below 10% body fat and really lean. Girls would tell me I was cute or hot and do most of the work. As I've gotten older sadly that doesn't happen anymore. Girls over 23 definitely look for more than just looks. I envy a few of my coworkers who are just funny and smooth. That's not who I am and I'm okay with that. I'll find my own way to attract women. More than one way to skin a cat.

His relationship with his air force friend reminds me of the same relationship I had with my dad. He passed away from undiagnosed cancer in 2019. I shared a lot of the same stuff with my dad and he was one of the few people who understood me and didn't judge me. I also am on the autism spectrum and have had ADHD since I was 5 years old. I'm turning 25 this year and I'm finishing a degree in industrial engineering this.semester. I'd probably would be diagnosed with Asperger's now instead of autism.

Because they were talking about his son’s mother and how that relationship ended. It’s only a red flag if your date keep harping on about their ex. It’s a sign of emotional maturity if a person can acknowledge that a relationship ended and the reason. She didn’t say anything weird, she followed the flow of conversation well.

Would have been nice if there'd had been a proper convo about it in the fact alot of neurotypicsl people don't understand unless they have an autistic loved one. even then sometimes it the person is presenting a stereotypical way, for example a non speaking 4 year old boy who's obsessed with trains, they'll often assume someone who isn't like that can't be autistic
