      Thanks for watching Nik- I am glad that you liked the video. Riding at Maydena was like nothing I have experienced before- I look forward to any opportunity to get back there!

    Overall, would you recommend the remedy 8 or the slash 8 of the 2020 models?

    • @GasFlow1
      @GasFlow1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It all depends on what you’re after. The remedy is certainly easy to ride and place on the trail wherever you want it to go, the Slash is more of an aim and go kind of a bike. Does your local bike shop have test rides? They are very different feeling bikes- so hopefully you can test out what suits you and your riding style.

      @@GasFlow1 should i buy it or there is another better and cheaper on the market? :D Thanks

    • @GasFlow1
      @GasFlow1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Foxy- unfortunately mine was a 2018 model, so I am a little out of touch with what is on the market at the moment. I changed from a hardtail to the remedy back then (end 2017), so I was delighted. Hopefully you get an opportunity to demo a couple of options so that you can ensure that you're happy with your purchase!

    Hi! Which is more versatile and agile Remedy or Slash? With which can you climb, go down, have fun and ride all day?

    • @GasFlow1
      @GasFlow1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Oscar Castañeda- having ridden both, they are both great bikes for all day riding. I loved my remedy- however I am happy to move onto a 29er now. Do you have any Trek dealers where you could test ride both?

    Hi just wondering if you recommend the marlin 6 for a beginner mtb

    • @GasFlow1
      @GasFlow1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Mtb Obsession- Unfortunately I haven't ridden the Marlin before, it would be worth seeing if your local bike shop would give you a test ride to see if you like it first. 👍

    When did this model come out ? Should i wait for 2021 model now? What do you guys think?

    • @GasFlow1
      @GasFlow1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching ignacio sevil- when I bought my new model remedy it was October, so release date would have been around then. Hopefully others on here can get you some advice on if you should be waiting!

    The finish is gloss or matte? Better replace yari to lyrik 170mm

    • @GasFlow1
      @GasFlow1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From memory it was matte- however it was from the rental bike fleet, so it may have had a frame wrap on it or just a tough life as a hire bike! I ride the lyrik 170 on my bike at home, but I was very impressed with the Yari- less adjustment but still handled the trails well.

    So knowing what you know now, if you didn’t have a bike yet, remedy or slash?
    I think remedy because it’s all about fun. But I have a remedy 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @GasFlow1
      @GasFlow1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are spot on- it's all about what you want to do with it. I loved my remedy- it would go everywhere, was playful and a great bike. However the Slash- once you get the big wheels rolling it is SO fast! For a race bike- I'd get the Slash; but for a daily ride- I would pick the Remedy (especially considering that the same level build kit (lyrik etc) on the remedy is exceptional!) I'm not saying that I had any problems getting the Slash off the ground, but it all depends on what you want to primarily use the bike for. 🤙

      Thinking to get 2020 slah 8 on my birthday. Nice to know that for racing slash is one of the best bike. I am joing enduro races in Philippines, my first enduro race I am using my fuel ex6 not ideal for race but as 29er it pick up speed so quick only I need abit hard on my fork setting to prevent me to bottom out.

    • @GasFlow1
      @GasFlow1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was honestly surprised with how quick this bike picked up speed on the descents, in fact I have sold my 27.5 at home and have now got a 29er as a result. I agree- balancing bottom out resistance against initial small bump compliance is certainly difficult, but I had not issues with this on the slash. I hope that helps.
