I have several Prada fragrances and they are some of the most mass appealing scents that I have. I’ve noticed that people love when a man smells crisp, clean, and fresh and a lot of Prada’s mainstream fragrances do just that.

Which makes sense why a perfumer like Aaron would not like this fragrance. The general public does not like complicated and complex fragrances and likes more generic smelling things.

imo it's great for the office. Very inoffensive to most people. Never got a headache from good quality ambroxan fragrances like sauvage or carbon. My mom and grandfather instantly get a headache from cheap or weird fragrances and they never had a problem with this one. I definitely prefer carbon though. I think it's blended better.

Idk if you see it this way, but I've always seen fragrances as stories told through smell. Like music is a story told through sound, movies are stories told through sight, or a delicious meal is a story told through taste. I call my collection "My Library" like for instance, your Slut to me is the story of an amazing one night stand with a gorgeous person who you'll never see again. Then the dry down is the story of both the longing to see them again with the joy of the memories of that night.

That metallic note is precisely explained. I can't stand it in sauvage. In dylan Blue it's bearable, even Aqua di gio turns little metalic on drydown. It like you're smelling a copper plate dipped in acid.

This is how I feel about Dylan Blue by Versace. It opens nicely but there is something in it that smells like a dry erase marker as it dries down. It’s sharp and kind of headache inducing

Geosmin is the aroma chemical you were referencing right? Have you used it in any of your fragrances yet?
Also, considering its cost, I would be surprised if any designer house utilizes it in their fragrances. Though it is rather powerful in trace amounts, so they may be able to use it in a cost-effective way.

Yea...spot on Aaron. I blind bought this fragrance and regretted it. One of my earlier lessons in sampling before buying rules. It just smells so familiar like its already been done over and over. You're right - its boring. I couldn't even get rid of it on ebay :( Feels like a cousin of Sauvage. Better frags in the Prada line in my opinion.
