Isn't he first introduced chopping raw meat outdoors in the Blade Itself?

Yes but I thought that might have been more of a foreshadowing to his ruthless nature and how he treats people in general.

Just read through it few days ago and if I am not mistaken, he is butchering pig.

It was always stated that the “bald butcher” was chopping up an animal.

I agree, I thought the scene in the Heroes strongly implied he’s an eater, and was an additional warning to Caulder. I’m trying to remember if he’s ever denied it. Then also trying to remember how honest he really is or if he’s been caught lying.

I would totally buy that, after Bayaz defeated the Hundred Words, he wanted to re-strengthen his Art more than he ever had before. I just think he did this by pursuing his "new discipline of magic." We all know what happens in Rikke's final vision--I think Bayaz was spending the prior decades working Art nobody had done since Euz and didn't have any reason to mess around with eating.

I don’t think bayaz is an eater because of the physical signs.
Using his art always left him too weak and too tired. He shows none of the speed, strength or vitality of an eater even when his life is on the line.
With a some eaters talking about it with regret there seems to be some kind curse that is in exchange for its power. But why does he need to when he had Sulfur and in the past shenkt to do his bidding.
If bayaz was an eater he’d be one of the most if not the most powerful in the series he would have backhanded his way across the old empire instead of having a magical seizure and have to be cargo in a coma.
Like Sulfur could catch cannon balls with his hands and the big dog himself needs to take a nap every time he burns someone nah he’s not an eater there is some catch to the whole deal he’s avoiding.

I don't think Byaz is an eater because his focus is on soft power. Money, loans, favors, influence. He almost seems bored by just blowing things up. We also know Byaz plays the long game. Just because one devil-blood slipped through his fingers, does not mean he couldn't find another. He convinced Bethod to keep the Bloody Nine alive just because he could talk to the spirits, and that was years before the chance to get enough weirdos together to go after the Seed. I also agree with the notion that Byaz wouldn't put himself in the postion to have a need for flesh to work his art

Hey, thanks for watching the video. Bayaz is definitely one of those characters that loves to manipulate and control through indirect means rather than direct ones!
It’s one of those theories that seems good on the surface, but quickly falls apart, just as I found out. Still we had fun talking about it, and there are better theory videos in the works, so keep an eye out for those!

@@circleoftheworldpodcast2632 my grandmother made watch game of thrones with her , I enjoyed the first 4 seasons so I read the books and thought they were definitely better than the show but what liked about it was all the content on TH-cam about characters and theories . So I looked for other series everyone recommended the 2 I heard most was wheel of time and first law so I read the first law series and thought it was way better in my opinion then ASOIAF so I don't understand why there's hardly any content on TH-cam for it. Anyway thanks for this video I'm going to check out your channel and see if there's more. Hope all is well on your end best wishes to you and yours.

Imo I don't think he is. I don't know what limit's eaters get, but I am sure that Bayaz would let someone else test them out for him as he have no intrest at all to deal with negative effects.

I have a counter theory: is there any proof of Khalul being an eater?

  • @devanman7920

Thought it's pretty much confirmed he's an eater after the scene in the heroes and the fact his apprentice is.

I definitely wouldn’t say it’s confirmed as that is the only scene that he is eating meat like that. But that’s why we made the theory video, George will be so ecstatic that you feel the same as him though!😄

He shows none of the abilities of an eater tho none of the speed, vitality, strength. Look at the abilities of the 100 words, shenkt, etc even sulfur caught a cannon ball. Bayaz would be maybe the strongest eater if he was one and could have backhanded his way across the old empire instead of passing out everytime he uses his art.
I can’t remember exactly who but a couple eaters talked about it like it was a curse so I think there some catch that comes with his power. And bayaz thinks I’m nigh immortal anyway and I have eater(s) to do my bidding when I need that tool why get mixed up in that shit myself if I don’t need to.

In my opinion, the scene where he eats meat in front of Calder is just to really hammer down the fact that even amongst an Eater, other Magi, warlords, leaders, kings, killers etc Bayaz will always find a way to be the biggest predator in the room.
He really is an eater but in a subjective sense of consuming people not for fleeting power the way an eater would but rather a permanent power over their lives as he does with the totality of the Union. The way he eats the meat he is also subjectively eating Calder by putting him ubder his thumb.
I dont think hes an eater.
As previously mentionned in the comments Bayaz likes soft power unless he is pushed in a situation where he has to use "paranormal" abilities for example high art or the seed.
Ive always theorized that Bayaz trained to always be able to "Heat up" the seed, it was part of his long game just a tool.
Other than those extreme situations he uses soft power because he believes that with the way the world is evolving and that populations are increasing its simply not efficient to be using magic all the time.

    • @DeTruthful
      @DeTruthful 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Exactly! I think there some kind of catch to being an eater I can’t remember who but I think 1 or 2 talked about it like it was a curse.
So why would he do it as the first of the magi knowing what he knows if he can have his own personal eater do eater stuff for him.
I think even Khalul and Mamun didn’t want to do it, it was a sacrifice to fuck up bayaz as they were out gunned at the time.
I think Bayaz looks at magic as just another tool like a lever or a bank.
Like it might be better to have a friend with a boat then actually owning one. He’s gotta pay for repairs, scrub the barnacles, buy the gas, read at charts, pay fees.
You just gotta chill on the boat and bring some beers.

this point is emphasized, I think, by the time when Bayaz almost died after blowing up a tree, which killed, what, twenty men? Even if he sees a use for Art, or for eaters, it would make much more sense for him to manipulate others than to take on the risk himself.

I thought this was pretty much confirmed in The Hero’s. After he threatens Calder. They have a scene where he’s eating with sulfur. Can’t remember the exact scene please correct me if I’m wrong.
