I’m reading Best Served Cold and noticed the line Joe gave as example his mum would have problems with:
“Night was falling when they came to the place, lamps lit in the grimy windows, stars spilled out across the soft night sky like diamonds on a jeweler’s cloth”.
Guess it wasn’t that bad ;)

This is AWESOME!! Joe Abercrombie's First Law is so damn awesome! My Favorite current ongoing series. I love the darker fantasy stories that arent afraid to put the characters through some really dark experiences yet still capture the wonder of the fantasy world. Joe balances the dark and twisted with the fantastical and inspiring brilliantly.

Phenomenal! I picked up The Blade Itself from a local library right before lockdown started and blasted through it. I really enjoyed the series, great character work. I thought the world was fun, though unspectacular, and the plot was a decent twist on the usual tropes. I like Lord Grimdark's writing style, it combines ruthless cynicism with vicious humour fantastically.
Congrats on another huge name interview Daniel, and thanks to Joe Abercrombie for taking the time!
