Hope you enjoy! If you wanna support the channel we are dropping an edition of 75, signed, A3 print of Jarvis. We want to sell them cheap as we would rather it be accessible then some of the prices you see online for prints. Check it out at harryborden.com in the shop section. Cheers!

I really enjoyed this video! I remember looking you up back when I realised 2 of my all-time favourite photos of Jarvis - the 1993 inside photo, with his fingers entwined, and the 1998 photo with him smiling with his eyes closed, in front of a purple-black backdrop - were taken by you, but I have only just come across this video today. It was incredibly interesting to learn more about the backstories of these portraits, as well as see several other frames from those rolls - thank you so, so much for sharing! There are some photos among the outtakes that I also really liked - you seem to observe&thus photograph Jarvis in a way that really works for me.
As a cemetery-loving 'goth' (or probably closest to that label, if I must choose one) whose odd favourite is Pulp, I would have loved to see how the cemetery shots would have turned out. I agree a cemetery isn't an obvious choice for Jarvis, but he's so eclectic in ways, an odd-seeming location might very well have worked too :)
Now that I found this channel I've also subscribed, and am slowly going through your other videos - they are just so interesting to watch for several reasons! Not only do they provide great insight into both portrait photography and the specific photoshoots' circumstances, they are also recited and narrated in a clear, corteous, but also frank and honest way that is just very pleasant to listen to, and they reveal a very interesting, friendly, humble and aware human being behind the viewfinder. I'm sure your personality and way of thinking&behaving has helped you get your subjects in sync with you, and thus resulted in photos that have something special that holds up until this very day. Once again, thank you for sharing all of these stories and experiences with us!

Loved seeing the development from one shoot to the next. Also like seeing the contact sheets as it shows the development of the shoot and moving towards the iconic parka photo. I've seen a lot of photographers discuss their work, and most, unlike Harry, shy away from talking about the shots that didn't work. Seeing and hearing about shots Harry wasn't happy with, as well as the ones that did, is what sets your channel apart. Good luck with print sale, brexit makes UK purchases very customs heavy for me, but have no doubt your edition will sell out. Would love to support the channel in a smaller way-kofi, small donations etc. Anyway, keep up the great work. Best from Cork, Damian

Great stuff. Cheers. I remember working in a shop in Dundee in 1994. One of my colleagues kept playing Pulp's 'His and Hers' album. I found it curious. This was just before Britpop exploded in the next few months. Looking back, the whole movement was a kind of 'kitchen sink' ethos put to music. Pulp, Blur Oasis defined the mid '90s, but for me the joker in the pack was Dodgy. Enjoyed your vid, as always.

@jaysterling26 I loved 'Staying out for the Summer'. It just sums up that feeling of having to work a menial job when you are young. Warm, rainy British summer days. I thought they were great. The whole Britpop movt was a 'once-in-a generation' time. Oasis were the top band. 'Definitely Maybe' is really the flagship album. No poor tracks, and so full of optimism. I highly recommend people to watch the film docu 'Live Forever' - the rise & fall of Britpop. Cheers. And cheers to Fred & Harry.

5:41 If Jarvis dated Lotte Heath while at St. Martin’s, then she is not the Greek girl inspiration for “Common People”. In interviews, Jarvis has said that although he “fancied” the Greek girl at St. Martin’s, she was not interested in him at all and they never dated. He took poetic license in writing the lyric (the Greek girl saying) “I want to sleep with common people like you”.

Not sure I agree with Pulp being the catalyst of Brit pop.
Although Pulp had been around along time, I clearly remember Suede kicking it off in 1992, ( famous Union Jack select front cover). They enabled bands like Pulp and Blur to hit the mainstream.
Be interested to see a Brett Anderson episode, for whatever reason Suede seemed to be written out of the equation.

As much as I love Jarvis, Suede and the Charlatans were big way before Pulp were.

16:14 This picture of Robbie Williams is just superb! I am not a big fan of his music, respect him though for sure but it's just the picture. It looks incredible with the lit up arch going over his head, the sense of perspective. I love the various looks on the other passengers faces going from clearly knowing and being puzzled why Robbie Williams is standing in a Tube, others curious of why a photographer is snapping a photo of a scruffy young guy on a dirty Tube all the way to the usual London thing of not giving a single ,@#£% about what's going on hahaha!

Haha definitely. I love this pic. I think Harry won some awards for it!
