Nice review. I can't believe how many people I see who are bewildered by how to switch out the rear fender screw piece. Thanks for not being one of them :-)
I was perfectly fine with the stock seat up until the 2000 mile mark. The foam felt completely flattened and I was able to feel the plastic seat pan underneath. I also was doing a lot of hard riding on rough roads in Baja
Hey man, watched your sissy bar install yesterday and noticed the amount of daylight between the back fender and the Saddlemen seat - did you have any probs getting the seat to fit? I bought a SDC Saddlemen but the bracket didn’t line up with the hole in the back fender so the seat warped when I screwed it down, showing daylight between the fender and the seat. Saddlemen didn’t want to know so I returned it and got a La Pera instead. The new seat fits like a glove and no daylight or flex.
Oh interesting, thanks for pointing that out. I didn't really have any problems during the install and haven't noticed anything myself as far as gaps go but I'll have to take a closer look next time I uncover the bike now.
Does this lift you up a bit higher than the stock seat? I’m 5’5 and I can’t really flat foot but I can get a good stable position on the stock seat. I’m worried the saddleman might raise me up higher to where I’ll be tip toeing on the bike lol
I can't recall noticing any significant height difference. I think they're about the same but I believe both seats have specs on the websites and the folks at Saddlemen would probably be able to let you know. Overall a great seat though, I'd recommend it!
I see on other videos with similar step up seat and they measured it, it was about a quarter inch higher. Measuring from the frame bolt in line with where your bum would be. But then that was measuring the used standard seat vs the new saddle men seat which hadn’t been broken in. So maybe after a couple of thousand miles it may equate to be the same
Hey man. Do you have the exact model number for this seat by chance? I see two on the site that are both very similar but different model numbers. Thanks!
Hey Devin. Looking at my order email now and I don't see a model number. The line item on the invoice just says "2018-2023 Low Rider FXLR/FXLRS/FXLRST, Sport Glide FLSB Step-Up™ Front & Rear LS Seat" I can also privately send you the rest of the order info though as far as which seat options I chose if you're looking for the exact setup.
Bike looks great, thank you for choosing us to be part of your journey!
Hey thanks, been loving it.
I like the smooth look of the OEM seat.
I agree!
Love the look of the stock solo seat. simple and comfy.

Haha thanks, appreciate it!

Oh nice! I bet Baja was epic. Not surprised it beat up your seat though I'm upgrading was great.
Nice review
Well done videos
Many thanks!

Do you like the lattice stitching up on the passenger area vs. just in the driver area? I guess its a personal preference.
I like the consistent pattern on the whole seat personally, but I agree like you said it's just preference.

Get some taller handle bar risers and you'll be in a more comfortable riding position. You will feel the seats back support better with taller bars.
Ah true, that makes sense. Risers are definitely on my list.
Hi. Did you find the seat narrower on your thighs than the standard? Thanks
Maybe slightly, but if so it was very subtle and still an improvement. Subtle enough that I wouldn't say I noticed much though.
@ Thank you
