Enjoy the autumn while it lasts Henry , the mountains will look far better once the winter comes anyway!
We all forget things when we go on shoots, Batteries , cards, Sometimes even a camera!

Wow the forests over there look amazing! You keep photographing what makes you happy and don't worry too much about what other people want to see! There are plenty of other photographers they can subscribe to. Stay true to yourself. Love your work.

Given that I am not likely to visit the Alps any time soon, I much prefer vlogs I can relate to. Local woodland shoots are exactly what I'm after. Keep them coming Henry!

I far, far, far prefer woodland to vistas so I really appreciate the focus on woodlands for awhile.

Good video mate. It’s nice to see the beard coming on as well as the photography. 👍🏻🧔🏻

Dont worry too much about making videos just for your viewers. I would much rather see you producing videos about something your truly enjoying rather than forcing yourself to go to places just so people dont get bored. Keep up the great work Henry, it also helps that all I really have around where I live if interest to shoot is woodland so I'm finding the tips and inspiration very useful 👍

Bavaria is a fantastic place for photography. I look forward too your vlogs as you explore and photograph this beautiful part of Germany. You might want too have an extra card or two in your bag, it's saved me more than once.

Hi Henry, liked the second image. It's great to be out in the woods and taking pictures it is just a added bonus. Keep those videos coming. Thanks for sharing.

I support the views wisely expressed here..shoot for yourself not what you think others want. I would add thats it's also good to leave your comfort zone occasionally, for example I would love to see some urban landscape images of Munich. Night, day or both...go for it! Oh.. and great video too!!!

Photograph for you and what makes you happy, it will show in your work. Of course the Grand scenes are wonderful. But we can't all do those, if you do go remember your other memory card ;-)
Nice images btw, take care Matey

You mention at the start about travel to and photography of the big scenic places. Everyone likes seeing those stunning vistas, but I just want to mention that I really appreciate your woodland photography because its much more similar to what I am typically able to photograph. Its nice to see you finding the compositions in the ordinary because it inspires me to go find that beauty in the ordinary. So if you do head to the Alps or somewhere, that'd be fantastic too but I'd also be very happy to see more videos like this.

I had to smile as you mentioned your forgotten rain jacket: As I started my vlog about landscape photography, I got clear with the point, that everyone will recognize when I forgot something at home or do mistakes out there. Nobody would recognize if I'd only post a photo on instagram. That's really a difference :) By the way: Really a great video and I love your photos, Henry!

You should always check for the memory card Henry!! I always check if my camera bag and cameras have film inside and which so I don't go out empty or the wrong film!

Another great video, and two lovely images.
One thing I will say, I'd have left the Polarizer off for the first image. If the sole reason for using it was for colour vibrance and the other effects of polarization were unwanted, just increase vibrance in post.

You'll not see me arguing against woodland photography. ;-D
I've developed a habit of leaving the compartment door open when a memory card or battery is out of the camera.

  • @michaelberg507

Why would you purposely underexpose an image if you are shooting RAW? I can understand if it was a case of keeping highlights from blowing out, but this did not appear to be the case for your second shot. The camera feeds on light - as much as it can get - so, take advantage of that. You can always sculpt your histogram in LR. I love having a good wander around the woods, too. Cheers.

    • @HenryTurnerphoto
      @HenryTurnerphoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks for the comment Michael. It was one of those situations when I knew already that I'd be decreasing the shadows in LR - so to underexpose out on location meant I could get a better idea of how the final (post processed) image would look. I also love deep shadows. What you said though, is technically right, for sure. Thanks again mate.
