Thanks for the updated tour. A very nice place and so smart to get a one-story. Congratulations on your son's upcoming marriage.
Thank you so much!
Thumbs up 👍 Tony…..good job on the upgrades
Thank you very much!!! 🙏🏻🇹🇭☺️
Thanks for the updated tour of your new place. What a terrific home and property you have found in beautiful Chiang Mai. You and Kendall have made great choices. I really like that water purification system you have.
Great to hear from you, Rob. And thank you, we love the new place. Yes, the water purification system works so well & is simple to use.
Take care!!! 🇹🇭🙏🏻☺️
Beautiful home! Never thought about renting a home there, but for that price point you can't beat it!
Absolutely!!! And thank you so much, we love our new home! ☺️🇹🇭❤️
Very nice and cosy house. The garden is charming. You are lucky to find this house. Congrats!!
Thank you so much!
Wow, your house looks very cozy.❤
Thank you so much, we love it!!! ❤️🇹🇭🙏🏻
Great job, Tony!
Thanks a lot, appreciate you watching!!! 🙏🏻🇹🇭☺️
Very nicely setup! Good Work! 😉
Thank you very much!!! 🙏🏻🇹🇭☺️
Beautiful blue sky with clouds...and thunder! Good to know👍🏽is it still rainy season there? Ohhhh show us your aquariums 🐠!
It’s still raining every day. It is very odd to have a sunny day and then all of a sudden you hear thunder but it really happens here. About an hour after I did this video, it started storming.
Definitely dryer and water filtration system are a must.
40 years married to a HK Chinese lady. Water is an issue in Asia. We have the filtration and then use an electric kettle to boil the filtered water. Agree humidity keeps clothes from drying. If a dryer isn’t possible then use a big dehumidifier and clothes dry within a couple of hours.
Thats a really nice home !
Thank you so much!!! 🙏🏻☺️
BEAUTIFULHOME!!
Fascinating video! We have been to Thailand and know exactly what you are talking about in regards to the sewer smell! Where did you get those little square patches that keep out the sewer smell?
Thank you for watching!!!
We bought the square pieces on Lazada (which is similar to Amazon in America), they were really cheap and so worth the money. 😎🇹🇭
Thanks Tony some good tips that i will remember once i am there in November, curious how close the house I'm interested in is to you, also in Hang Dong.
Wow. You live in Thailand and your children live in U.S. That makes me feel better to move abroad and away from my family.
Do it. With modern air travel, the other side of the world is just around the corner. Just a couple of flights away.
Maintain a rainy day fund in case you need to fly back to your family in a jiffy.
Video call is free nowadays, don't worry about family connection back home.
$600 USD for all of this? It really got me thinking of moving there sooner!
Very nice home y’all have! Have you tried growing any of your own vegetables? Like tomatoes, cucumbers, chiles, etc?
Not yet😊🙏
Hey Tony, Hope all is well with you two!
I love what you and Kendall have done with the house and yard!
I'm curious, how much did your PEA bill go down once you moved from the two story to the single story and, after adding the new AC and only using it did you see an additional decrease in your new place?
That house I rented in Saraphi I met you two at I absolutly love, espeically after buying new furnature, but my PEA bill is insane!
I blame myself as the one thing I overlooked before renting was to check the AC units for production dates and to ensure they are inverters (Lesson Learned).
Did you get your new unit at HomePro and have them do the install?
If not, do you have someone you'd recommed and trust?
Hi Steve. Great hearing from you. Our bill went down by around 1,500 Baht at the new place. We haven’t gotten a bill yet since the new aircon was installed. We used a guy named Mr Aek, he gives great advice, takes care of cleaning units and also installed the new one…also speaks great English. His number is 082-7665178, you can contact him on Line app.
Take care and enjoy your weekend! 🇹🇭😎
Hi Tony loved the updated tour!
I'm curious, do you guys sleep with the AC running all night? We just got back from a Phuket trip (from Australia), and were reminded of how dry/sore our throats get sleeping with the AC running? Thanks!
Yes we do. 😊👍🇹🇭
Will you do LIVE in the future?
Wow, beautiful house. You may buy shoe cabinet, insect, lizard can not get in.
Great idea!!
Maybe use a shoes box to prevent from scorpions? I saw in Mexico people putting in plastic box the shoes.
Great idea. Hope you are enjoying your time in CM so far! 🇹🇭☺️
Very beautiful home…how much US is it to rent this home? Thanks
$600
Nice house, congrats. Which neighborhood or district? Is it far from the downtown?
Home in park. 25 minutes from downtown
@@TheNarrowGate Thanks.
How do you deal with the burning season? Can you live there during the burning season that doesn't affect your health in the long term?
It is not that bad.
We use air purifiers and wear masks when we are out.
Is construction quality of houses good? Scorpions??? Like living in Arizona
Scorpions??? I'm more worried about the rattle snakes in Arizona!!
Construction on the homes here are really good! At least the ones I have seen.
how do you deal with the toxic air for 3-4 months a year?
We have air purifiers throughout our house & tend to stay indoors when it’s at its worst. More & more businesses are installing air purifiers as well. It’s not ideal, but it works for us.
Do you guys still have a mailing address you use in the States for things like passport, banking, taxes, etc.?
Yes, we use ipostal one
IS UR ELECTRIC BILL HIGH? YOU HAVE A LOT OF THINGS USING ELECTRIC. VERY EXPENSIVE HERE IN MANILA!
4000 baht
Is it cheaper to buy?
@louis20122 - Unless you're a Thai citizen or married to a Thai citizen, you cannot own a house. The reason is that non-citizens cannot own land. If your spouse is Thai, you'd have to trust her or him enough to have the house solely in that person's name. This is why most non-citizens buy condominiums; you don't own the land the condo sits on.
A slight correction: a non-Thai can own a house, but as @kevinp8108 mentioned, you can't own the land. While you can take out long leases of up to 30 years, you're in a catch-22 as you own the house on someone else land, and all types of things could happen. Most either rent, my rent is 23,000 bhat ($622 USD) for a huge house, or they purchase a condo, which, as a non-Thai citizen, you can own freehold, but you need to ensure the foreign quota isn't met in the building you're buying it in.
