I've been wonderfully happy with the City Commander armor the delays for the Protector made me a little wary. And by the time I was sure I wanted to get the Scythe version he was already sold out. At any rate a GREAT review, and thanks for sharing it with us who wasn't able to grab one. Here's hoping for a reissue!

I knew it! I knew fansproject would go overboard! But at least you have the option to use it on shattered glass rodimus, putting this on Wildrider would make him motormaster and then it's titanium menasor all over again!

This is the single coolest thing i've ever seen. It has a scythe, amazing color scheme. and armor that isn't super bulky... I don't care about price anymore I may have to hunt one of these
If it hasn't already been mentioned, I believe the name was changed because "Scyther" is a trademark held by the Pokemon Company or Gamefreak. Great review. Makes me wish I wasn't poor-ish! XD
@peaugh The copyright reason is because "Scyther" is the praying mantis Pokemon of the first generation, its the name used in the english version, I don't know if its the same in Japanese, but that is a likely reason.
YES PLEASE! For the love of God, FansProject! Please rerelease this in a slightly different color scheme accurate to the comic. I missed out on the original release of this and I do not want to pay $600 to some dirty scalper who bought 15 of them.
@amz2022 on ebay, the armour ranges from £200 ($350) to £300 ($450) the actual mini car rodimus/ wildrider ranges from £100-£600 i wouldnt recomend it for a young child lol
@bbphnix I understand where you're coming from, that "part-forming" should be avoided. But keep in mind that this is a power-up armor like the one made for classics Ultra Magnus as a homage to g1, wich had detachable parts. This is the same idea, but made for Rodimus.
just be careful when you close the sides as the tabs rub against the wing extensions.. if you put it in carefully it shouldn't pop out the extension pieces.

I'm curious about the Rodimus you've got wearing the Protector set in this video. It looks like the Henkei version (gold body flames, yellow chest with insignia, orange headlights) but the spoiler looks like the non-chromed Classics release. Did you do some part-swapping?
Judging by this, it looks like FP may go on a pattern like with City Commander. First the initial release, then the evil repaint. It makes me wonder if FP will make a set to go with either the TFCC Sideburn colored rodimus, or the e-hobby clear blue rodimus, or both? Or if they decide to re-issue the city commander mold down the road as some kind of "Shattered Commander" armor or SG Optimus. What do you think peaugh?

How awkward does the protector armor look with the battle in space 2 pack Rodimus color scheme? Because I was thinking about getting the protector armor, but i wasn't really buying toys when the original mold came out so i got the two pack.
what makes me mad this these kinda figures (exclusives) is that most off the people buying them are gits who buy a batch of them then sell them for a huge amount on ebay.

The black is a dead sexy deco. Very nice. He original is nice in its own way too, but the black certainly has its charms.
