Cory, please do ON THE ONE for "Synchronicity". If you can explain just a little bit on the bass recording of that song, it would be awesome. Thanks for the good content as always!
@@shutt398 Thanks for pointing out. I am mostly curious whether that one pop note in the very end of each line is recorded in a separate track or Cory just managed to switch between plucking and popping so quickly.
@@0x00A5 There's a video of him playing a bit of the Synchronicity bassline on his Instagram, if you haven't seen that yet. He doesn't use a pick at all in that clip
Synchronicity is literally the song of the year for me. Absolutely inspiring stuff and it reminds me so much of when I met my wife and the time immediately thereafter! Please do an episode on that song!
Cory, if youre able, please never stop making these! Not only are they an absolute joy to watch, but i leave the videos loving the tracks they cover more than i ever did before. Dont think i would have listened to Western Winds 1/100th as many times as i have if not for this series! Great work as always
Love this series! It's fascinating to hear how you make decisions regarding instrumentation, orchestration, etc. as well as context to how each track fits into your broader catalog and artistic vision--I always return to the track(s) with a newfound level of respect and appreciation!
On The One! might be my favorite part about 2020. So cool to see the pro tools sessions for all of these songs, as well as get some insight into Cory's thinking. and of course some laughs along the way lol
This was such a relief from the news! Thank you so much for the inspiration and uplift! also GREAT drumming and LOVED the razzing and back and forth with Petar. thank you!!!!
This video is just reflecting how you guys are: we made this shit dope, let's get it out... Even the "producer" side of Cory makes the whole thing so much enjoyable, just reminding everyone they're here to get the shit done the right way...and it works...the right way is when the music makes you laugh...how true! it's inspiring to see people doing and sharing their best, and pulling their mates towards that same vibe in this process. We're deeply and silently enjoying what you're giving us Cory and friends, keep going it's so much fun!
Pick bass has its own unique flavour, and sometimes to surprise palates you have to introduce novel flavour profiles. Cody Wright and Bobby Vega are bursting with pyrazines; and Cory - SO ARE YOU.
Great tutorial, comedy and jams! I am obsessed with writing and recording and I can’t get enough of your approach to music! All you guys in the Vulfpeck Nation are great! Keep these videos coming Cory!
Man, I see a lot of these "Stripping down" the recording sesh type videos and this is just something else. It´s a whole vibe, these guys have some super magical about there music and friendship. Inspiring!!!!!
Love this series, only found out about it today but I'll definitely go back through the archives and watch them all now. Love the reference to Davie504 and pick bass. He realised that's not a battle worth fighting a few months ago and dropped it. He is a dope player. Can't wait for a Synchronicity breakdown, that bass part is flipping insane!
Cory, Peter: do the work, put in the hours, live clean, and someday... you will get the nod to join the Hornheads band on bass and guitar. I want to hear those Hornheads recordings!
8:22 Could that *bleep-bloop* project be the new Cory and the Wongnotes stuff? Just speculating... (Edit: On another comment this has already been confirmed by the man himself)
Cory! These videos are great! i’m cracking up over how much you two are enjoying yourself! This is just awesome Love these vids. And great to get a inside look on how the productionpart of a song is
fun to watch Cory! thanks! In the near future my Son will be hiring Petar for one of his tunes. He met you guys in Eugene, OR before virus mayhem. Was in your vip group pre concert.
I’m really glad to have seen you both live in Italy guys before this f@€#/ pandemic, love the new album witch I’m waiting for in vinyl, also this series of video is dope! Keep up the good work
The dynamic between Petar and Cory is making my day
Cory! Don't stop doing these, they are DOPE
Cory's got such a wealthy people's laugh and it's hilarious
after selling all those plugins!
In a few years after shouting all the time he's gonna sound real Gilbert Gottfried.
12:02
it kinda reminds me of Woody from Toy Story
If you ever need a pick me up, just listen to Cory's laugh 🙃
I love it when you do this with Petar
Michael B. Nelson is the best horn's arranger to the galaxy !!!!!
Cory, please do ON THE ONE for "Synchronicity". If you can explain just a little bit on the bass recording of that song, it would be awesome. Thanks for the good content as always!
Yes this!
bassline seems very similar to Cory Wong - Vulf sped up
@@shutt398 Thanks for pointing out. I am mostly curious whether that one pop note in the very end of each line is recorded in a separate track or Cory just managed to switch between plucking and popping so quickly.

This made my day. Love the Cory/Petar back and forth.
Petar needs to be in all of Cory's production videos from now on!
Petar Janjić is tremendous drummer! Greetings from Croatia
These videos are so sick. I stated this in an Instagram comment, and I’ll state it hear too: ON THE ONE: ELLIE
This content is ridiculous. Eternally grateful

Good to know Cory and I react the same way listening to that last C section
Is the bleep... the wongnotes project??? (Around 8 mins)
yes
Fav song off the album, easily listened through about 50 times
One of my favorite tunes on the album. similar in a lot of ways to boardwalk but they're so distinct at the same time!
These some kind of monster references make my existence worth it.
True genius... not only a great play but also a good producer. Absolutely unbelievable!
We LOVE u two !!! Dynamic duo
Kings in the house! Petar and Cory you need to do these more often!
Could listen to a loop of those horn lines all day, and get goosebumps each time. Rad stuff.
Cory you are an absolute monster for phat grooves
I'd love to see that horns chart (pretty please!) Great vids man, great music! Thanks for sharing and inspiring :)
Everything about this makes me so happy
That bass with pick is so funky...I love it!
This is, without a doubt, my favorite song right now. Legit masterpiece.
SOOOO excited for the bleep bloop project!! haha
Love the look into the separate parts and the tastey horn arrangement.
Love this series! It's fascinating to hear how you make decisions regarding instrumentation, orchestration, etc. as well as context to how each track fits into your broader catalog and artistic vision--I always return to the track(s) with a newfound level of respect and appreciation!
Just keep it on, it’s a pleasure to learn having fun, exquisite arrangements
I love the energy in these 'on the one' videos

but the disrespect at davie504 is real 😂
This was such a relief from the news! Thank you so much for the inspiration and uplift! also GREAT drumming and LOVED the razzing and back and forth with Petar. thank you!!!!
"That Rocco Thing". Love me some Rocco Prestia and that Oakland Stroke!
That’s a killer tune! Love it! Can’t wait till it’s out.

I Literally love these videos. The production quality, the attitude, the sheer style, the info. absolute gold.
These are amazing, Cory’s energy is always on point
Love the look into the creation!
Never stop with the Some Kind of Monster jokes. One of the funniest films of all time.
I love these so much

Diggin' the glasses, Cory

So much fun! Loving this series. And the Davey504 ref! If he hasn't already he's got to feature some Cory slumming on bass.
Man, I see a lot of these "Stripping down" the recording sesh type videos and this is just something else. It´s a whole vibe, these guys have some super magical about there music and friendship. Inspiring!!!!!
This is awesome but the friendship you guys share is just so wholesomely great
love the product plug :D. so good
Love your bass. Great record. Dale caña, Cory.
This whole Video was nothing but "Click Bate". 😅🤑🥳🏁 epic song!!! Great breakdown.
Those horns are nuts..
I've been waiting for this for so long, and the albums barely out
These Videos inspire me Cory. thank you! So good!
I'm living for that laugh. And that pick bass
Love this!!! You are the boss of funk!
Is the bari sax at 16:40 not Colonel Panic by Fearless Flyers
Love this series, only found out about it today but I'll definitely go back through the archives and watch them all now.

Cory, Peter: do the work, put in the hours, live clean, and someday... you will get the nod to join the Hornheads band on bass and guitar.
I want to hear those Hornheads recordings!
Love this series!
it's actually the best amp plugin i ever used. even for bass.
The albums are finally on Spotify!
That Gilbert Gottfried laugh 😂
Great energy in here!
Man the horns sound so good. Dope !!
At this point making one of these episodes without Petar would be a crime
Just want to comment on your beautiful studio, lovely.

Cory's the man!
AMAZING! I could watch Cory break his songs down all day!! I just might do that :)

Someone should do a Cory Wong laugh compilation.
Please do one of these for The Pinky Harp! Absolutely love this album.
Man I really enjoyed watching these two go at it lol
There's a lot of stuff going on, but none of it feels muddy. This is difficult to do. Nice job, Cory!
@1:40 i had to go find the some kind of monster quote, LOLOL so good. Love to see music jokes hahaha

In Petar's defense - Some Kind of Monster is tight
THATS RIGHT !!!
Fingers, picks, slap, teeth. The sound is the sound.
I would even watch just for the gestures!
Just gonna say, I thought Sonny played bass on this track. Cory, you are dope, man. Also, these videos rule. Inspirational stuff. Keep 'em coming.
fun to watch Cory! thanks! In the near future my Son will be hiring Petar for one of his tunes. He met you guys in Eugene, OR before virus mayhem. Was in your vip group pre concert.
I love you Cory
Cory, this is my favorite track on the album! You should try out this style more :) Especially the bass playing
Most important quote from Some kind of monster is Lars' dad saying "I think..... You should delete that". Any musician can probably relate.
'And Justice For All..'
More like Adjust It For Lars
That brass!
No shame in playing pick bass: Carol Kaye = 'nuff said! :)
- Thanks for sharing these Cory, great insight
now we're talking
I’m really glad to have seen you both live in Italy guys before this f@€#/ pandemic, love the new album witch I’m waiting for in vinyl, also this series of video is dope! Keep up the good work
Gonna be honest, didn't get the Some Kind of Monster reference.
Youve never seen that docu?! it's actually pretty fucking sick.
This is what he's referencing th-cam.com/video/U0n5deCbC-o/w-d-xo.html
