The Start to the video cracked me up!!..LOL Here in the US, there was a line of machines that I feel, fall into the same category. They were made by Panasonic, for Sears Kenmore. The first of them were branded ProFormance, then they were rebranded as Whispertone after the first year. These were introduced in 1992, and were Kenmore's new line of clean air uprights with on board tools! They also were not only clean air, they were also twin motor too. They had a good suction motor, and decent tools, and cleaned fairly well, and were not terribly loud, but construction wise, they were just like the Electrolux! The fact that they are twin motor, means that the handle release always broke, 98% of the ProFormance, and Whispertone's found suffer from the same floppy head syndrome! It was even worse, because it wasn't the head or lever that would break, it would be the catches on the body piece, and those catches were molded as part of the whole body. Also, they creak too when handled, and were also top heavy, and just not light in general. Same class of problems. I have a video of my White Kenmore ProFormance on my channel, take a gander to see what you think. Yes, the handle release on mine is intact..=)... Keep the in depth videos coming! Very interesting to watch!

@@TheVintageApplianceEmporium this was just one time they were slightly off the mark. It seems to me, they do much better of the keep it simple. It really think it was a matter of being over engineered!

Interesting machine never seen one of these before, Personally I use grease not oil on bearings, If they're the sealed ones you can normally get away with puling the seals out and re packing them but if they're metal shields, I just change them.

I have the same machine, sold as the Electrolux Aptitude in the US in the early 2000s. Awesome video!

"Electrolux Aptitude" - for some reason I really like that name lol! Just looked it up on Google and yeah it's almost exactly the same. I see they changed the brushroll for US carpets. Be interesting if it was a UK built machine that was exported but I suspect it was made in the USA or Mexico.

They were made in Mexico. Most of the United States Eureka's from this time period were.
