Downtown is not more than 10 minutes via car unless traffic is particularly heavy. Crime is minimal in the Pocket; the most common forms of crime are personal property theft via open garages, mail theft, and car break in/catalytic converter theft. The area is a beneficiary of the Delta Breeze as it sits near the Sacramento River, which can make the area a bit cooler in temp than surrounding neighborhoods.
It’s gonna be a year or two before I move out to Sac but as someone who knows nothing about homes out there what is something that is a common issue to look for over all?
