This is the most complicated part of grammar that it can never be absorbed once, but here the style of teaching can melt it down! In fact, I think grouping them as certain family ( Verbs of Speculation ) not where they are mixed & taught all together with " should, would, ought to, will, shall, dare & have to, just as modals verbs to cause more confusion with them! Thanks.
I'm so glad to read your comment and to know the lesson was helpful. I agree, this topic is very confusing. Modal verbs can be used in many different situations, so I believe we should study them by topics, not at once... Please check my other lessons too.

Thanks for help🎉
Ma’am are these sentences correct - “he’s not picking up the phone, I think he must/could/may/might have slept just now” or “he must/could/may/might be a Doctor” and “she must/may/could/might be sleeping now”. And ma’am is the usage of could in the sentences above correct.? Please help me out ma’am I’m bit confused here. Thanks in advance.
Hi :)) Good practice! Here are my ideas: "He's not picking up the phone, I think he must have fallen asleep OR he must be sleeping now". Other two sentences are okay! Yes, we can use all modal verbs which you mentioned "must, could, may, might"
SandJ English thankyou so much ma’am for your help. Just one doubt I have is that in the sentences “I couldn’t have enjoyed more ever in my life than the last night.” and “I couldn’t have enjoyed more ever in my life, If I had not been in your party last night”. Ma’am in the former if I substitute may/might(have) in place of could(have) they mean the same, though the level of certainty would be less and latter sentence is conditional which is totally different from the former one. Ma’am am I right here? Please please help me out.
Hi :)) You are studying difficult grammar points! OK, let's talk about "could" in more details. It can be used in many situations:
1. speculations: It could be John's brother. (PRESENT - I guess a guy is John's brother.) / It could have been John's brother. (PAST - I guess it was John's brother)
2. conditional, speculation: If I went to the party last night, I could have enjoyed. (may / might are okay!)
- your second sentence belongs to this group: I couldn't have spent the best night in my life, if I had not gone to your party last night.
3. comparison: I couldn't have enjoyed more! = I enjoyed a lot. = I enjoyed as much as possible. = It's not possible to enjoy more.
- your first sentence belongs to this group: Last night was great! I couldn't have enjoyed more.
SandJ English Thankyou so much ma’am. Sure it has evaded all the doubts. And I conclude that wether it comes to possibilities in past or present could/may/might mean the same. But ma’am which one is more appropriate in an interrogative form for eg: “who may/might/could have scattered all this stuff?” And Ma’am in an conversation:
He: will you come to the party tomorrow?
She : umm, I might. ( ma’am here if we substitute could in place of might wouldn’t it sound but awkward.? Why?).
I'm a native English speaker:
In conversation, ''who could have scattered all of these things on the floor'' would be used. The most common thing you will use when you find a mess is ''Who's done this?! Who's scattered all this stuff on the floor?!'' This is said angrily in the heat of the moment.
If you still don't know the culprit after a period of time and you are reflecting on this, you would most likely hear ''Who could have done this?''
very good
Plz make a best video on modals of possibility i have alot of confusion on the topic
5:30 why do you use (could ) here? Can’t we use (must)?
We use must when we are pretty sure. Otherwise when we have doubt and uncertainty we use could should might and etc.
Thank you, I'm learning your lenguage 👍💯⚡ que

Hi to Poland :)) So glad my videos are watched also in your country! Pls subscribe and check my other lessons.
Ma’am I’m so happy that you have corrected every bit of my error. It’s so sweet of you for such thorough help. Actually every doubt that I had is clear but still ma’am sometimes when I’m having conversations I get confused at some points for eg:
1.) He - will you come to the party tomorrow?
Me - Umm, I might (here Ma’am If I use “could” in place of “might” as a modal of possibility then wouldn’t it sound bit awkward? Though both show possibilities.) And,
2.) “I can’t find my wallet. I could’ve left it at home.”
3.) “I could’ve got better marks If I had studied the last chapter.”
Ma’am here in 2.) & 3.) you can see both the sentences have used “could’ve” though they have totally different meanings as former has used it as modal of possibility and latter sentence is quite of conditional type. So how can I differentiate them. It becomes quite confusing for me sometimes. Could you help me here Ma’am.?
1) might is a better choice here. I guess we don't use "could" for possibilities about our actions.
2) I can't find my wallet. = now
I could've left it at home. = past possibility
3) past regrets

Your videos are very effective and I am already your subscriber as you teach really well. I have a request if you could Make a detail video on all preposition. I have a quick question about English . If you could help me that would be great.
'' He is walking on the road.'' is this means the guy is walking in the middle of the road?
'' He is walking along the road. '' is this mean he is walking on the road side.
Thanks for subscribing and enjoying my lessons. Please share with your friends.
on the road = not on the payment, not in the park or other place, but on the road
along the road = he moves along the road, doesn't stay there
along the road is the correct choice here.
thank tou
