I love this era of Kiss. Cause I got into Kiss because of I was made.. I love unmasked! Was devastated when Peter left..but loved Eric Carr right away.. the Elder ..I was shocked..but wanted to like it anyway.. was very sad when Ace left..but curious about Vinnie.. so it was a really interesting time just like Joey said. It was the time that I discovered Kiss all the way
I knew what Eric Carr in KISS looked like long before The Elder. They were on People magazine. They were on a TV show Kids Are People Too. And a few other things.
"SUPERKISS" began with Love Gun. The day of the release of Love Gun coincided with the release of the first Marvel KISS comic. So the comic book was the beginning of "SUPERKISS"
I did three of the four UK gigs ( Stafford and 2 x Wembley ) . These venues are in the 8-10/12,000 maximum ) . The majority of the European dates were kinda Dynasty size audiences with the Australian dates ( in stadiums ) bumping up the average attendance numbers
As someone who grew up in that era as well You guys didn't search too hard For a picture of Eric because Kiss was In 16 magazine Super Teen magazine And all the rest Promoting the Elder costumes
I actually have those. I think Joey is about 5 years younger than I am so it might have been a little tougher for him to get the magazines we did. But you are correct about the pictures being out there.
I was bench pressing weights while listening and when Joey was greeting everyone and said “what’s up Piece of Garbage” I almost dropped the weights on my chest lol
What if Kiss had actually unmasked and Shandi and Tomorrow were the singles? Do those songs become hits? What happens? The cover should have been simply the insert poster (also a panel picture).
@@davidjoseph4 you are correct. You have to remember that when Joey says he doesn’t remember seeing the make up. He was only six lol I’m not sure he had the opportunity to get all the magazines. The rest of us were able to get. But you are 100% right.
Sorry, KISS played ZERO festivals in 1980. It was the outdoor Australian shows that caused the averages to go up. They were not festivals. e.g. Melbourne was 40 - 45000 people ALL there for KISS

The 97 CD remasters had Anton mentioned in the liner notes on the inside of the CD case.

@@slurrygod yeah.. I had People Magazine.
@kissarmy-podcastrockcity7618 petty sure you had more than that lol
..I'm not bitchin , love the show and weekly listener
I had all those magazines with Carr & Kiss in them.
Interview was good. Since I am not sure on the answer, I would have loved to ask did he play on Alive II studio tracks.
We were told no. He met Ace after Alive 2 according to his story.
Im hoping Sammy brings that show to Australia...

Too bad Eric Carr didn't play on Unmasked. He would have gave that album some "balls"
But eric did the unmasked tour the year before and his face was all over the magazines??????

@kissarmy-podcastrockcity7618 ah yes that makes sence 👍
The Oath would have been perfect if Paul didn't sing in falsettos.
Why doesnt Anton like sunny?
Minus 2 songs The Elder is heavy.
Stafford UK is 16000 capacity
MY KISS Alive II will always be better than the Alive II Joey likes.

thats strange in Australia we got a poster which was the size of the album and a KISS Army listing to join ,,,
