Anton was the straw that stirred the drink in the World’s Most Dangerous Band on Letterman for 20+ yrs. Every time Dave included him in short skits was some of the funniest moments on the show. Total 😂!
First time that I'm watching an Anton Fig interview! A great drummer. A great song. And he deserves the billion views for "I Was Made For Lovin' You" too🎉
I saw Anton play on tour a few years ago with Joe Bonamassa. He played a great drum solo early in the show. Thought to myself, that was pretty early in the set for a solo. Then later in the show, he plays a SECOND drum solo. And killed it!!! Absolutely amazing drummer. Never saw a drummer do two big solos in one show. YOU ROCK ANTON !!!!
This is by far the greatest interview I have ever heard with Anton Fig. You asked all of the right questions and did not miss a thing. You covered everything important. I agree with you on Ace's solo album; better drummer than Paul, better producer. It still sounds great sonically. Paul's just doesn't sound as good. It is sort of thin sounding in comparison to Ace's. These are things that were noticeable when those albums first came out. While Paul's "Love In Chains" is a really good hard rocker, it just doesn't sound right. It sounds incomplete or unpolished. But, not in a good way. Eddie Kramer could have used some of his studio magic and brought that song out to it's fullest potential for Paul. Ace's album does not have any weaknesses like that on it.
If you ever get a chance to ask Ace about that guitar effect on "I'm In Need Of Love"...I wonder if he'd heard that effect on "The Martian Boogie" by Brownsville Station and perhaps that is what inspired him. That song was on Brownsville Station's self-titled album was released in 1977. You can hear an example of that effect in "The Martian Boogie" at about two-minutes and two seconds in. After he says, "And, I freaked. 'Cause the guy sitting next to me was a Martian!" Speaking of "The Martian Boogie", I have also wondered if it inspired Van Halen's "Hot For Teacher" in some sort of way. (Edited for spelling errors)
Anton was in the band Spider… his character could’ve been “The Spider!” He could’ve had spider makeup and a costume (kinda like Alice Cooper’s spider leg jacket) with six extra legs/arms on his back holding drumsticks lol His signature aura could’ve been fig colored… 😝 🕷️
@@josephcollins628 I’m guessing? We’ve been told before that he did not play on a live too, but from what I can tell, none of these people can remember anything from back then. Lol.
Great interview guys Anton Fig is simply a great and extremely talented drummer. Why the contributions he made to both Ace Frehely and Kiss were awesome, I, for one, am glad he never became a full time member of Kiss. I just don't think Kiss would have been a good fit for him. Just my opinion.
what a guy, great drummer. Great interview guys! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
It's amazing that Anton's face is similar to Peter Criss.

Total 😂!
Anton’s drum breaks in Rip it Out let the rock world know he was a force behind the kit. He’s on 🔥 on Ace’s 78 solo record. 🤘🏻👏
Anton Fig is a brilliant drummer and of course a legend in Kiss community /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you guys for having the great Anton on your podcast! 😊. Think about it! He played drums on Kiss’s biggest hit!!!!

He must be talking about "Is That You?" at 39:22?
Great interview!

Anton Fig likes "Shandi",
a melancholic song.
He likes "I Was Made For Lovin' You" because it was "different".
Intelligent. Great. He's a legend.
Jimmy haslip played on danger from creatures
If Anton was first introduced to Ace for the 78 solo album. Then he couldn’t have played on Alive 2 right?
