The are sons of Alfred of Wessex, what we can expect?!
Alfred hated Uthred for a long time, Uthred put him on the throne and saves his life. And what Uthred get?? Nothing.
Uthred fights for Eduard and he swear loyalty to Eduard until he becomes king and help him. And when Uthred ask for soldiers to takes The fortress of Bebbanburg, nothing happen.
Lady Aethelflead, the were in love, and the helo each other, i mean Damn Uthred will protect her at any cost, and when he becomes the King of Mercia, she became jealous and says that he is not a man tu Rule Mercia, and then she swear she will remain cast.
At the end what Uthred get??? Another task, train the bastard son of Eduard.
How many things and people Uthred lost in order to be faithfull to the King of Wessex and to other kings?!.
The only people that will never failed him are his brother in arms: Finan, Sithric, Baby Monk, and the others.
i'm pretty sure season 5 will have Uhtred finally take back Bebbanburg and he'll do it with an army he will raise himself if he took back bebbanburg with any help from Wessex or Mercia or any of alfred's children then he'd own them for eternity. i think season 5 should have Uhtred be completely independent of any of them they do NOT deserve his allegiance Alfred only barely earned it and that was right at the end of his life because he finally admitted that without Uhtred he would have never stayed king until his dying breath.
Can't wait to see what will happen in season 5 minutes 🙄❤
Aethelflaed has proven herself to be a great ruler because she chose duty over love. She has always been loyal to Mercia and it’s people, which is the most important trait a king/queen should have. Uhtred agreed to be Lord of Mercia against his better judgement to protect Aethelflaed which is a grand gesture of love, but that doesn’t make him the best person for the job. His main motivation is for love and loyalty to Aethelflaed, not for Mercia. To think about it, Edward actually took advantage of the situation when he found out that Uhtred loves Aethelflaed and that the people of Mercia respect him. He thought he can control Uhtred and make him follow his orders. The moment Uhtred saw this during the scene right after he was baptised, he made the final decision that Aethelflaed should rule because she have Mercia’s best interest at heart.
I think the turn of events doesn’t really want to depict Aethelflaed as someone who is not loyal to Uhtred. I don’t think it’s the point. Her actions only showed that she was willing to let go of her love for the good of her people, which I think makes her a great ruler. That was a great sacrifice she and Uhtred did. I don’t think they ended up together in the books so there’s also a little chance that they will end up together in the series. Nevertheless, I appreciate their character developmentand their love story. It showed us that people who take up great responsibilities for their country/people also make a lot of sacrifices including love and personal happiness. That’s how I see it.
good analysis 💙
Their unity will be the reason that countries will be reunited.
Uthred sacrificed his love and power.
Uhtred's Pathw as Never Mercia it has always been Bebbanburg and i do feel that the series will end with him reclaiming Babbanburg or at least next season he'll finally take it back and he'll outright refuse service anymore service to wessex or Mercia.
@@michaelkean5969 the series wouldn’t end with him taking bebbenberg back because new threats would arise from the Scots and the Saxons and Danes
I truly believe they should have changed the ending or let her lived a bit longer to give us more of their love.
I know she cares for mercia and it's people but she should've not betrayed him like that mainly in the scene where where she gets to know that uhtred is in Winchester and forgetting what he did for her and her daughter she orders to fire the walls
Yes, she was all about herself. If it wasn’t for Uthred both she and Edward would be dead. They never acknowledged his honor and worth.
A king/queen has to make sacrifices
Uhtred too understood it when she took the decision to remain chaste,
It wasn’t like she didn’t love him lol
Aethelflaed and uhtred , together, please
Thank you for the amazing video. The power couple ❤️ they still loves each other but it was a difficult relationship because Aethelflaed has a responsibility as the lady of Marcia . Lady Aelswith in 4x09 she acknowledges their relationship by saying to Uhtred (after he gave up the throne for Aethelflaed): "yet you gave what was most precious to you to the Mercian people", referring to Aethelflaed 💔 i hope they could get back together
The perfect couple utred & atefled I the last kingdong
I don't think she's betraying him as much as choosing duty over love, one of the toughest decisions to make. It was clear that it pained her deeply, but she had to do what was right for the people she swore to protect and unify. There is no villain in their story other than her husband and the circumstances of their love, but neither of them should be called traitors or anything like that. They both did what was in their nature. He followed his heart and instincts and she followed her duty and instincts, but nothing makes their love any less real, tragic, passionate and heartbreaking.
I don’t think she deserves uhtred. He is loyal to her but she would easily betray him.
Shafi Rattar I agree but I think their love story won’t last because they both have different ambition and goal.
Shafi Rattar in the books, they get married 🙌🏼
OMG be still my heart 💕
When Alfred turned Uhtred into an outlaw he returned with Ragnar and try to be happy, but she asked for his help and he turned his back on Ragnar and Brida once again, he even try to help her and Erick to scape risking everything once again. When Uhtred was going to be king she persuade him not to because she was jealous, once again she convinced Edward to attack The city even with Uhtred inside, she also accept to give Uhtred’s daughter without asking him. My boy Uhtred deserves better, he has given everything and done more than enough already. I really hope he can find someone different, someone that see all that he can be and I really really hope he doesn’t come back to Wessex or Mercia.
Uhtred should just become a full on bachelor it's so clear that every love he's had has ended in either death misery and betrayal he should take back bebbanburg on his own without any aid from alfred's disappointments he called offspring. without Uhtred Alfred was nothing without Uhtred Edward is nothing and without Uhtred Aethelflaed is nothing.
Eadith. I hope Finan grows to be a very old man.
Well, this aged well
She’s her father’s daughter, Uhtred helped them with no regrets but what she and her father did to him is unforgivable 😡I do hope in episode 5/6 that he will do what has been done to him with no regrets👍
Why not instead of her vowing to never be with a man just marry uhtred the witten approved both of them.
i feel the same way. it doesnt make any sense
Uhtred's rule is not in Mercia it is in Bebbanburg the series is constantly pushing him towards his rightful homeland.
History cannot be changed.
Right...they could have had beautiful children. She was still young enough.
Thank you
I started hating her the min she got jealous over him getting mercia
I dont think she is jealous. She knows Mercia more than Uhtred and she knows that Uhtred is not the right person for the job. There is so much politics in being a leader of a kingdom and Uhtred hates politics
Oh the sacrifices she has to do for her beloved Mercia. Even giving up on Uhtred
Marissa Tan I agree, but not when she gave away his daughter
@@lunGangte I agree.
@@blesseddaughter7622 not to mention that being romantically involved with Uhtred usually means you're life span is gonna be cut pretty short.he's lost two previous loves and a son.
@@lunGangte Stiorra wanted to go with him
She told uhtred herself😂😭
Didn’t you guys saw that scene wtf
She would’ve gone with him nevertheless, it wasn’t a bargain lol
i hate them together, Gisela is the only romantic relationship I like for Uhtred.
The only time I liked her was with Eric
I hear ya.
