She helped so many times in really an urgent matter. For me she was something common with Uthred. Maybe fact they both are alone and loose everything helped Aethelfled to hold power in Mercia. In episode 3 or 4 season 5 she had quick talk with Uthred about why all this. She said maybe it's destiny or their own choices. It was very wise and for me quintessence of all season. Uthred started to wonder when she said this. Her creation in this serial was for some reason.

A hardened resourceful survivor but also possessing a brave kind heart. I honestly thought at the start of S#4 that Eadith would be a ruthless power-hungry manipulator just like her brother but dam did she quickly surprise me & win me over as the season progressed. Also, she & Finan are so adorable together. I really hope their relationship continues to grow in S#5🤞🤞

Yes...they have moved away from the books....but the series still flows nicely....not sure why they changed the fact that Uthred seems to have only 2 children,when in the books he has 2 boys and a girl....even in sesson 2 his wife died giving birth to the 2nd son....

She turned out to be a good guy after all. At first I hated her. Then she helped Uhtred and the gang out and became apart of the group. I’m glad I don’t hate her anymore.
The one thing that really pisses me off about this series is that every single good looking woman ends up with Uhtred. Like it's so boring, why can't any of the other guys get a look in?
It's because Uhtred is as honest as they come. He isn't two faced or backed by hidden motives. He's always been upfront about what he stands for and he's always been true to himself. There's a certain charm that comes from that. Also, Eadith isn't interested in Uhtred, they didn't even flirt. She's captivated by Finan and Finan is captivated by her.
Finan is married to one of the royal daughters the Uí Néill in Ireland. He was a prince in Ireland. He then fell in love with a dairy maid from the Ó Domhnaill clan. Once this was found out he was stripped of everything and I can remember thats how he became a slave. its been a while since I read the books..

I really got pissed off with S05, I just watched half of it and didn't even complete the whole episodes. there is no growing for the finan character or even spotlight on his past and sadly no more scenes for the Irish warrior with eadith. S05 is an unsightly.

They are moving along in the series so fast now....even in the latest book "spoiler alert"....Edith ( his wife) dies in a plague...and Uthred already has a new woman....they have had to tone Uthred down quite a bit...."me to"..... movement and his real character would be in conflict....😱.....also he seems to have some business remaining with the Alfreds daughter..... can't see the series lasting than 2 more seasons ....one thing for sure.... Uthred is not showing his age....he should be 40-45 now.... and that's old for this time period.....
