You're pushing skateboarding forward so much by actually breaking down the fundamental physical processes behind the movements we all love to see and aspire to do. Thank you. Your feats on the board are jaw-dropping but your teaching is even more inspiring. So much work goes into a teaching session like this, it seems very mentally taxing, I hope you're taking care of your health too out there. back to watching!
Learning so much just in the first 11 minutes. Wish this level of skate education was widely available when I was a teenager. Hearing simple tips like "...skate from the board up..." is 🤯 for someone who isn't naturally good at skateboarding.
You're the man, Mitchie. I skated for a few years as a kid but never got too far. Almost 30 now and I've been considering getting a board for a few years but never committed. Seeing this kind of teaching and the way that you're able to articulate the science of the sport inspired me. Got a board about a month ago and I'm already better than I ever was as a kid and fuckin' loving it. Thank you, so much. ❤
I feel like in short form, a lot of times Mitchie explains things and the skater gets it and I’m like wait I didn’t understand yet. So it’s cool to get long form. It was helpful watching mitchie tweak the skater in black long sleeve’s drop ins
I never thought watching a video of other folks tuition would be so helpful to ME, Ive already seen several things that I need to improve that you spotted on others in seconds. (I also do the lean in and stomp at around 30:00). Seriously you and JB are legends for what you do.
Thanks Mitchie and all the guys and girls in this video. It is so instructive! I like the format too. It is long but you don't need to watch it all in one go. You can go practice in between :)
I've been watching your skateboarding tips on TH-cam for a while. I appreciate that you are willing to share your knowledge and expertise. I'm a veteran who has had a rough life. I lost a lot of fellow Marines in the war. I'm grateful to the VA for helping me get my life back on track. I'm passionate about skateboarding and would love to learn more from you. I would totally sign up for your course if I could afford it.
I will say one thing that might help people in these is showing them the video of themselves doing it, maybe it won’t but usually when you show a side by side comparison pointing out the different shapes and postures they’re making they get it better
Thanks for these videos!! I wish I could afford paying skateIQ every single month, although the free content in Skool is also great. These exercises are the difference between skating aimlessly and really feeling progress. Thanks again.
19:10 Saving for later. Pumping advice to replace the feeling of trying to predict the transition with your shoulders, with extending your legs to be light on the transition.
I hust been watching some of the footage to keep inspiring me while Im off skating for a while, I ll be back one day again, love it like the first day I started, and like the first day I kickflipped 🤟🏻🏆
i would love to see a fundamentals video of and for adults who are basically just getting on a board for the first time and that are "real" beginners (on flat land). these guys are way past what i, as a new adult skater feel to be fundamentals. no negative intended here either. maybe just an idea for a future adult video?! I am a member of the SKATEiQ community already and absolutely love you guys!!
I would love to put one of those out! The thing is , most people don’t go for coaching BEFORE their first time skating. I would love to take that opportunity when it does come
I take it back, I shouldn't have spoken/commented before watching past 5 mins. Even as a complete adult beginner flatland/freestyle skater, i got so much from this video! Mitch, you really are such a fantastic teacher! Your ability to communicate body position and the way a person should "feel" on their board, in any trick they are learning or having issues with is superb! Thank you for your wonderful contribution to skating!
@SKATEiQ Hey Mitchie! Thanks so much for offering to help me with bone-out ollies-it really means a lot. I’ve been following you for a while, and I think you’re such an amazing skater! My Skool account’s about to end soon, and I don’t have my allowance to renew it. Is there another way I could still get tips from you? 😁
I wish there was a park like this near me and I had people to do it with. Skating was easier when you're a kid in school with friends. Cool to watch these videos though.
Mitchie! Next time you do oz.... can you do Sydney by any chance? I know chiggy are up there, and i get it, they are amazing peeps. Would love to have a day or three with you and I know a few of the lads that would definitely get on board with it also.
37 years old .skating 28 of those and really need your insight on back tails for ledges. I’ve Donehundreds. Never felt good on em. What’s the iq secret
Haha hey man, I’ve been getting keen since I’ve come across your vid’s bro ! I’m 50 this year and not skated since around 2000s haha Good to see you in Oz maybe you’ll make your way south ?
protect this guy at all costs.
Before seeing your screen name, I was like, holy shit, Scott the woz backing Mitchie and my head prematurely exploded. Lol good on ya

For sure taking care of ourselves. We stay very focused, and get rest every night. All we do is coach, film, script, and workout 🥷

Even for stuff you "know" how to do, things you already have in your subconscious, he brings that into the conscious mind. Thank you Sensei Brusco.

Facts if he had an iPad or something to show them the playback like they do in sports now 😮
I love doing that! It just takes a while sometimes it’s not so easy with a group
you honestly explain the best out of all the other skateboard trainers on youtube
New thing to fall asleep too in the background. Ur tips have made me way better than when i was a kid. Thanks again bro.

Heading into the dead of winter, worth it to sign up for the program? I was thinking about waiting til April or so when it starts to get nice out.
You can always check out the free trial. We made it so you don’t need any obstacles or parks to practice and a lot of students use their garage
Awesome content! Hope I can get to one of these one day!
