    The Five Heartbeats is my Aunty’s favorite movie of all time, a couple years back my cousins and I did a Mother’s Day tribute for her where he reenacted the “I got nothing but love for you” scene in the beginning. Robert Townsend actually saw it and said it was great he shouted us out on twitter! A legend and stand up guy!

    Robert Townsend is Black Hollywood Royalty right before your eyes people! You could see the inception of In Living Color when you look back at Robert's HBO comedy specials in the late 80's early 90's!! Its not about if his movie's bombed or not. His desire, passion and life long goal was to help balance out the images of black people in film because all you saw for years were stereotypical interpretations !! Robert is Hip Hop because his style is original, creative, and his focus is on building from nothing without regret!! They need to give this man his props now!!! He is a legend!

    • @akimsmyer5254
      @akimsmyer5254 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @ghostrecon755 that's why his legacy is burried. Imagine how many he influenced in the 90's! Hollywood can't have that. This is why we must be vigilant in keeping and telling our stories before our history is lost and or rewritten. TBC is doing a huge disservice to the culture when they fail to do research on guest they may not be all the way up on. They have a responsibility that comes with the platform - the station has nothing vested in our culture so it's allowed. Thankfully Sway does his homework.

    Does anyone remember Robert Townsend's Partners In Crime on HBO. Every year he did one. Way before Def Comedy Jam. Look it up. The Black people that had cable couldn't wait for the new Partners In Crime to drop. The Breakfast Club really doesn't do their homework. Hell, they didn't know anything.

      I loved those specials. Look back and see how many of their crew made it big. Man.

      Man those specials were brilliant. Townsend doesn't get the respect and honor he deserves and The Breakfast Club should be ashamed of their lack of knowledge...
