    Donkeys in Ethiopia:
Donkeys play a vital role in rural communities carrying water,
working on farms, carrying produce, large bales of firewood, sacks
of grain, charcoal and building materials including timber, bricks,
sand and blocks of cement. Donkeys are frequently adorned with
makeshift pack saddles with little or no padding or protection
causing painful wounds and injuries. They are the family car, but
don’t always receive the regular care they need.

Donkeys and mules learn how to do many different types of work. They can recognise routes, people, gestures and timings. Their intelligence and emotional range is often underestimated. The Donkey Sanctuary in UK as well as in Ethiopia has many examples of how donkeys care deeply for each other as well as for other beings such as humans.

Help these gentle animals, Hello! International Humane Society. Help these animals, please...... they are gentle animals. They are abused so many times. The triumphant entry of our Lord Jesus Christ, He rides a donkey. So it symbolize something for this animal. Not only in Ethiopia but also some other countries they used donkeys as a source of transportation heavily loaded. And other countries they are selling meat for human consumption. Please.... Humane Society... help poor animals more...reached them. They are voiceless, they have emotions and feel pains also, like us humans.

Donkeys works very hard all their life. They never have any time off liked us, always working and many over-times.
They never complain and all they asking is a little food and water, but it seems liked they never gets it. People are so greedy, they won't
let them take a quick break besides the grass they eat and water is free anyways.

Wonderful footage. Wish the people could design more balanced trailers and wheels, as this could really change the energetic demands on the donkeys. On the whole, the animals seem in much better condition than those in India and Nepal
