That was my exact reaction. Because I'm the person who will save for a year solely to be able to throw money all around the outpost like it's nothing.
It depends on what you do, if you eat in the park, buy suveniors, ect...

ChimneySweep07 I hate the stupid tier system!!!!!!!!!! It's like you can only book 1 real ride and have to book plays/shows for the other two.. Makes me so mad. Especially since those are all things we have seen before and never have needed a FastPass for.. I think it is the dumbest thing ever.
ChimneySweep07 I totally agree. I don't think people should be forced to book fast passes for plays/shows when those you can walk right onto.. I use those as buffers in the day when you want to sit in the shade under a fan. I'm not too pleased with my FastPass selection for next month.... So bummed.
I’m going when this opens and I totally didn’t realize it 😅 Hopefully this will draw everyone from the other parks over to this area so everything else is not as crowded LOL
Got the email and made the reservation. We get to celebrate or wedding anniversary on Batu.

Not a Star Wars fan but I am impressed with how perfectly cast Disney World’s Rey is. I do enjoy watching the TH-cam videos about Galaxy’s Edge especially Vincent presenting the lightsaber building
Seen two different Reys at WDW. One was pretty good, looked very much like Daisy, but the other looked like Linda Carter from the Wonder Woman show in the 80s. Too include being very top heavy.
We had an absolute blast in Disneyland, so I know Disney World’s opening is going to be great!

I'm hoping the same thing. I headed there in 2020. It would take some of the pressure off of getting everything in during the day and I would less like I had to do the extra extra morning magic hours.
I’m going in December! If I miss the Jingle Bell Jingle Bam because the park reaches its max I’ll cry.

My 2 adult daughters and I are going to Disney for the very first time in September and have been booked for months, so we were thrilled with the early opening announcement of Galaxy’s Edge!! We are all Star Wars fans, so we will DEFINITELY be going! We are staying on Disney, so will use those extra extra magic hours!! You have helped us plan SO VERY MUCH, so we thank you for all you do!! You are awesome!!! We will miss watching you once our trip is over!! 😥

option 1: Experience the land including Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction
Option 2: Experience the land including Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction, plus Oga's Cantina
Option 3 Experience the land including Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction, plus Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers
All option 2 and 3 are completely full.. some opening for option one..

We'd originally planned for Sept. but after the announced open we changed to Jan 28th! Glad we did, we'll get to do both rides and hopefully the crowds will have settled down.

As I am sure it will be somewhat crowded, the biggest factor here is when it is opening. Remember All schools are in session usually by the end of August, and as parents are willing to pull their kids out of school for vacation very few will do it the first few week after school starts. The majority of guests will be locals, people with no kids or kids who are not in school and the few where there are year round schools. If Disney was expecting it to be at capacity they would not have offered free dining and super discounted hotel rates out of the blue. We are going the week of Nov 11th and were able to get a room at Animal Kingdom Lodge for 260 a night. Also now that Disney has announced the opening date for Rise of the Resistance the die hard Star Wars fans will most likely wait until that opens to plan their trip.

Was just at GE at Disneyland. I have to admit, I was much more impressed with Pandora.
Don't have a Platinum/P-Plus or Premier AP -- just a Gold AP -- so I won't be getting early access. BUT I am planning a vacation in Late October, so I'll be saving up to experience this then.

I got my preview for August 18th!!!
I thought I saw something on the official Disney blog that Savi's and Oga's were going to move to the 60-day reservation process. They didn't mention when, but seems like they'll be getting rid of the day-of system sometime this year.
At Disneyland we have yet to actually use the boarding passes. The land hasn't reached capacity since the reservation periods finished.
Oga's runs out of reservations FAST. Faster than Savi's.
Smuggler's Run is a six guest ride. If you set your party up beforehand it will be easier to get the seat you want. Pilots need to watch for surprises right away and until Hondo tells you that Chewie is taking over.
Merchandise: expect it to sell out. They've been having trouble keeping all of it stocked.
Lightsabers: don't forget about the legacy sabers at Dok's. You do have to buy blades for them separately but you can spend less than Savi's depending on your choice. You can spend a lot more too.
Speaking of Dok's shop....it's always crowded. Be mindful of that when you are going in to take pictures.
I think they're having trouble keeping merch in stock because they're holding a ton of it for WDW's opening. I think they're anticipating HUGE crowds at WDW and will have more stock available there than they had at Disneyland.

That's one possibly. Though I've heard someone claim that Disney understocked merch for Pandora dispute the demand.

We actually leave for Disney Aug 31. We've had this trip planned for 2 years. I'm not super excited to go into it, but it will definitely be an interesting experience
We had an existing reservation for September, thinking Galaxy's Edge would open later in the year. Rather than cancel it, we are going to embrace it and hope people stay away until the second ride opens.

Changed our dates to Jan from Mid-Nov to see both rides open as Rise of the Resistance opened two weeks after our original reservation.
My parents, sister, and her family will be there the week after it opens. I just wish I could go.

I totally suggest the Kaduu ribs at Docking Bay btw! I loved the ribs and the blue corn muffin was delicious. Ive been craving them ever since I went! Good luck to everyone trying to get in at WDW ☺️

We weren't able to get a reservation for the lightsaber building on the disney app for our October trip, but we DID get it by calling the reservations number directly. But that might be because we are staying at Shades of Green, which handles things differently than the other resorts.

My husband and I go to Disneyworld for our anniversary almost every year. And our anniversary is Aug 30th. I wasn't expecting the Galaxy edge to open while we were there... But turns out we are going the day after opening. Last year the parks were pretty low crowds so I am kinda bummed and worried that with the opening the parks are going to be more crowded than usual. I'm excited to see Galaxy edge. But I was hoping on visiting it a year or two after it opened. Lol.
You can make Oga's Cantina reservations at Disneyland two weeks in advance.

AJ, boarding group were only used for the first half of the first day galaxys edge opened up to the public. I went the first day and they took off the boarding group requirement by 5 and haven’t implemented since
