The $2 Lynx bus from the airport to Disney Springs also takes an hour because of the other stops but it is a nice ride.
But you can get off at Publix on Destination Parkway and do some grocery shopping, then hop back on and head to Disney springs on the 311 and Uber from there.
@@cavy95 , great strategies from you both. 👍
@@cavy95 That is a great plan! It will cost another $2 to get on again but it’s still a deal! A day pass is only $5 btw. 😉
@@OmegaBahn Thanks! 😃
Lynx 311 makes only 5 additional stops on its trip from MCO. to DS
I will always miss the free magical express.
Same 😭
it was awesome :(
The dumbest thing Disney has ever done was getting rid of free Magical Express
Losing the magic as well as the express
I still sigh woefully every time I say the words “magical express”. Sigh…..
Regarding costs, I would be willing to accept $5,000 for Disney to pay me to visit any Disney park in the U.S.
Any UK folks out there, if you're booking a Disney Resort hotel package through the UK Walt Disney World Travel Company, the total price quoted is just that - no additional fees are added onsite (the additional tourism tax etc is included in the price). Though you will still have the $100 holding view for any incidentals that gets refunded at the end of your stay if not needed) :)
Hi, AJ and team! Great job here! I love how you break down the costs - and explain about all the hotel room taxes. I think I’ve made this point before, but the $12 Disney poncho is worth it for an adult carrying a backpack. The plastic is thick and won’t tear easily, making it good for multiple trips. Also, there is plenty of room in the back part to fit over a backpack. And the hood is good.
Happy Wednesday y’all! 💜
If you are staying on property and do not have car, be sure to read your bill over carefully. I was charged for 3 nights of parking and did ride share the entire time! When AJ says read the fine print, she is not kidding! Disney assumes that you will be parking a car on property so read carefully.
One positive about Disney resort costs is that the extra costs are only those required by the state of Florida - no "resort" fee, no parking fee (any longer) -- note, if you qualify for Shades of Green there is a parking fee but I am not sure but I think that some if not all of the taxes are waived
Or, you should tip based off of how good or bad your service was, and not of some random recommendation by a restaurant
As a former server in a high-end restaurant, if you had bad service (not to include a rude server), let the manager know about your displeasure but still tip the server. You never know why your service was bad because of something happening behind the scenes.
I always leave an extra large tip because i have serious food restrictions and always have to talk to an allergy chef. They are excellent! I never got sick when i worked with an allergy chef, but i got really sick at Raglan Road. A great experience, but be careful what you order!😊
Got another for the video. If you have 6 or more people at a restaurant, you have a mandatory tip.... so with 3 kids getting souvenir cups, those cups ended up on the bill for mandatory tip. It was like adding 3 meals to the bill
Thank GOD we had our "one-&-done" WDW trip in Dec. 2018!!! I thought THAT was expensive too! But listening to the current priced-out-of-WDW costs it's SHOCKING how different it is now! E.g.: our "memory maker photo pass was $79.00 for our ENTIRE 8+ park days!!! Not *$189.00*!!! OMG and we thought just under $200.00/night at All Star Movies was a LOT (for us it WAS!) but we knew it was "holiday pricing" and higher than usual and accepted that as part of our once-in-a-lifetime experience. We had the magical express & fast passes included in our vacation, too! There's NO WAY we'd be able to replicate that same trip now though! Blessings to anyone who still can!
I’m glad in the UK the all our Disney tickets include hopper and magic maker. We get much better deals than people in the US.
Any tricks to getting to and from Amtrak?
Um, charging more per night for more than 2 adults in a room is pretty standard at most hotels
Great video. Very informative!
I clicked as fast as I could Love the channel AJ and crew!!
Thanks for being here!!!! 🥰
Money trap for us last week was definitely the lacking dining plan. Paid a lot for food still despite having dining plan
As a fellow texan who got sick in disney and was amazed by the price of something as simple as day/nyquil. Bring your own from home if you can guys. That stuff aint cheap over there
Another SUPERB, INFORMATIVE VIDEO.. Thank you.. been an annual pass guy for 25yrs
Aww, thanks for being here!
If you were going to do the dining plan anyway then it’s worth it to get the free one
3:55 the shameless lambo just chilling there 😭😭😭
You forgot Dok Ondar's/ I've never seen a place better designed to separate me from money. 😁
May the Force be with you ⭐️
hi, i though there is a specific size requirement for the bags allowed inside?
I miss the short lived Express Transportation program in 2017; for $35 for my entire week long stay, I can park hop without exiting the main gates and going through security again. The buses were never crowded; non stop ride directly to the park of my choice.
I miss this too! Such an amazing deal, but yeah…those buses were always empty so I don’t think it was very sustainable for Disney
Disney itself as a whole is a money trap whether hidden prices or upfront prices. Lol.
😡Disney is NOT a whole money trap! What an asinine thought! And the prices are going to drop once I get to work at Disney! Everything at Disney will be more affordable with prices from $20 to $12. I'll make sure that happens!
I would take the Lenexa bus to the parks
Mouse traps, if you will
Question: We are taking our family to Disney World in September. We don't have a desire to go to Mickey's NSSHP. Is it better to go to the Magic Kingdom on a MNSSHP day and just leave when it starts (The assumption is that crowds are a little lighter during the day because people come later for the party or avoid the park all-together cause they don't want to go to the party). Or does it not really effect the crowd levels and we should go on a non MNSSHP party day to make sure we get a full day at the park.
Great question! It really depends on what you’re after. Typically, we DO see that crowds are lighter on days when MNSSHP will be happening, but that’s because Magic Kingdom will close early for general admission guests. (And that means no Happily Ever After fireworks.) So if you’re okay with having to dip out a little early, then - yes - you may wanna still book a regular day ticket to Magic Kingdom on a party day for the CHANCE of crowds being less intense. But if you feel like you’re gonna be cheated out of fireworks, dinner, and end-of-night ridethroughs by having to leave the park around 6PM, then you may wanna book your tickets for a non-party day.
Usually crowds are lower on party days but since the park will close at 6 pm you will miss out on the firework show, so if the firework show is not must, then it might make sense to go on a party day, but if they are, then you want to do a full park day
@@dfbbreeaexcellent answer!
One thing I forgot to add. We have park hopper passes, so we had thought about hopping to the Magic Kingdom for the evening after our Animal Kingdom day since they close early and don't have much of a night time show.
We are going to disney world too in September, we have done NSSHP 2 years ago, it was so busy we hardly got on rides it was shocking just for handful of candy, and now $199 each for evening of queues not fun at all the parade is the best part, but think I'd rather spend not even$30 for genie plus for a normal evening and get to go on all the rides I wanted to go on 😊
biggest money trap: staying on property. the perks aren't even there anymore.
We spent an insane amount of money on rides (after paying $10,000 for room and tickets for a week). We did genie + every day. Guardians 4 times, fop twice, rise twice, and tron 4 times. My credit card is hurting
So close to one million subscribers!
After hearing all this, i would rather take a Disney Cruise! I do have a question about getting passports. How much do they cost and what other id do you need to get one. My daughter and I, will need to get one, however her dl has expired, she is bedbound right now and cant go to DMC/ DMV herself. What can we do?
Thanks and GOD BLESS
11:25 where did you get those fries at?
They’re from The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom!
Question; what if you have a child who is 17 when you check in, but turns 18 during your stay? Does the extra adult fee apply?
Disney bases things on the day you check in. My son turned 3 during our trip and did not require a ticket.
@@AndyfromPBG1so he got into the parks for free?
@CarolCityCane305 that is their policy; it does not change if the age changes during the trip. If the kid is 2 when you start your visit and turns 3 during the trip, nothing changes.
@@kittykitty0204 wow did not know that
What is the no-show policy if only some of the parity arrives? My friend got sick while we were in Disney, and needed to stay in the Hotel, At Hoop Dee Doo and Mama Melrose, we weren't charged anything, and they even refunded his Hoop Dee Doo ticket so we only had to pay for the three people who showed up. Is that a policy, or a case by case basis?
Typically, if at least ONE person checks in for your group, then you should be in the clear. You’ll just have to let the host know up front what’s going on and they can adjust your party-size in the reservation as needed. (You can also adjust this in the MDE app, too!) That being said, I’d DEFINITELY still look into the cancellation policies at the restaurant you’ve booked ahead of time, OR go to the host stand ASAP to get everything squared away - since cancellation policies CAN look different across SOME of the Disney restaurants.
Does anyone have any wheelchair rental company recommendations? Heading to Disney in September. Thanks!
ScooterBug is Disney’s featured wheelchair provider, which we’ve heard good things about in the past! If you choose to rent through ScooterBug directly, you can actually have the equipment sent directly to your Resort hotel, and you won’t even need to be there when it arrives. PLUS, according to Disney, ScooterBug will actually work with Cast Members at your Disney resort hotel to manage the delivery and return of your rental, too! Just something to look into, for sure! (Though you still might be able to find other more affordable options through another third party service. I just like the convenience-factor of this one :D )
@@dfbbreea Thank you!!!!! That does sound super convenient!
11:30 Does anyone know where to get these fries?
I was surprised how much money we spent on food this week despite having the dining plan.
HEY THERE, AJ ! 🤗😄👋✨️❤💙
Do they still ship your purchases to your hotel???????
No, they discontinued during COVID, and never brought back.
@@mela1580 Thank you!
My Whole family wants to know how many cruises you guys have been on
Zero, doesn’t fit my schedule. Plus my 14yr old son needs ride experiences.
@@cavy95 I meant DFB Guide like AJ or Breea but I would love to hear everyone!
Does that new bus allow a double stroller?
Yes mears connect pretty much lets you take anything.
Have yall tested these backpacks in the parks???
It’s a trap!!!
There is zero reason to take the Mears Connect bus from the airport. It's equal or less dollars to just Uber or Lyft. AND you get taken directly to your hotel, with no worries about luggage. Maybe it pays with just two people, but over that costs so much extra for the bus that you lose money vs. Uber. We won't do any other way.
The fact that Disney just started charging per person for the magical express (mears now) while also increasing hotel prices and tickets is ridiculous
Disney has nothing to do with it anymore
Them getting rid of magical express was them saying go on then go to universal
Universal has never had free transportation.
😠Hey, watch it! Magical Express is making a comeback once I get to work at Disney. I'm not joking here, once I get to work at Disney, I'm bringing everything back.
What a scam on the hotel stay.
Holy Cow!! A $10.00/person for a "no show" fee? Wow!
And it’s come back to bite us more times than once… 😖
The table could have gone to someone who would’ve spent money, they prepared to make a certain amount of food and not showing up messes up their budget so they have to recoup the costs… it’s either people stop no-showing, the restaurants stop offering reservations altogether or the customers who actually bothered to show up for their reservations pay more to make up for the people who said they’d be there and canceled or didn’t show up… they miss a lot of potential sales on half filled tables and groups of customers who could’ve been seated but weren’t because the table reserved and set up for 10 only had 2 show up
Quite low compared to many off-world places.
My type? *Just pay for it*. If I wanted to worry about money, I would have stayed home!
They count on that.
I just realized that the current state of Disney is quite comparable to The Borg on Star Trek. That's unsettling
The more I know, the less I want to go to Disney...
So really, the meal plan only covers 83-87% (20-15% tip) of the cost of a sit-down meal. It sounds like less of a bargain that way. Especially when the bill is inflated both because it’s Disney and because it’s three courses.
No, it pays the full cost of the meal. The tip, which you would have added to the cost, is not included. (Tips are not included in the menu prices.)
@@vincent412l7 Tax isn’t included in the menu price either, but the DDP pays those.
Just don't go, problem solved.
It’s such bs it goes up with a third and fourth person. If the room fits four should just be the same price smh they know how to nickel and dime you.
It's standard industry wide. Hotels and cruises and most tour packages are typically double-occupancy.
Shame about the bus. When I heard about them getting rid of the Magical Express, it felt as if the magic was coming to an end. At least help people get to the park before emptying their wallets.
I know a lot of Americans guests drive, but not all foreign guests do. No longer having Disney branding also adds to the feel that the magic disappeared.
🙄The magic has NOT disappeared at all! Once I get to work at Disney, things are going to be improved. Magical Express is making a big comeback, and so is Splash Mountain! I'm NOT even kidding here! I plan to bring those things back to Disney!
And mears will drag you all over the Disney property. Can’t stand mears even when it was free
Disney isn't fun anymore. It's just as much of a hassle to go there as anywhere else. Not worth the money.
🙄What nonsense are you talking about? Of course Disney is STILL fun! And it WON'T be a hassle to go there anymore, not once I've changed things there for the better! Listen up! Disney is going to be more fun than ever before. I've got big plans for Disney once I get to work there and they're going to greatly improve Disney. Disney will be SO worth it once that happens.
Tips start at 15%, not 18%.
Disney isn’t being successful across the board. The parks are the only things keeping them profitable…that’s why they are pushing for new areas and increasing costs and pay walls.
The biggest money trap is purchasing the Genie+ and LL
Genie+ and LL won't exist anymore once I get to work at Disney. Fast Passes will replace them.
LOL....the whole place is a money trap....
