XboxerBriefs are short form video game reviews focusing on the original Xbox and Xbox family of consoles. The style is very much inspired by other channels, such as @SNESDrunk and @NESFriend.

It feels like we were just talking about this, and then suddenly it's here! Nice job, good sir! I can't wait to see more spotlighting for a console I know very little about.
You aren't wrong, and thank you for the nudge! I've got a bunch in mind for the future!
Glad to see you back making videos. Great review, this looks pretty cool.
Thank you, Pam. It means a lot to hear you say that.
Nice work, Musty! I never played the Xbox so this series is really enjoyable for me to discover new titles and experiences. Well done!
Thank you Wally! Hopefully I can shed some more light on the system for you!!
XboxerBriefs? I see what you did there. I'll admit Xyanide isn't a game that I'm all too familiar with, but you've painted a vivid enough picture that I'll surely be on the lookout for it.
And my compliments to the format, well done. My OG Xbox experience isn't terribly robust, the system didn't grab me the way that Sony and Nintendo's did, so it's nice to see a perspective on some games that I missed.
Glad you enjoyed it. I hope that I can help unlock some of the mysteries of the Xbox library for you along the way.
I never heard of this game, but now I want it. I'm going to have to keep an eye out.
Thanks for sharing
Good luck on your hunt! I don't see it too often at conventions - probably because someone manages to grab it. Thanks for watching!
I absolutely love this game. There are so many original Xbox games that never received backward compatibility. Whiplash, Voodoo Vince, etc. As for the soundtrack, I found that Skinny Puppy 12" Singles was a fantastic replacement for the default music, and the game gives you the option to play your own music.
Musty is back on TH-cam!! Woooooo!! This game looks really fun. My Xbox does not get a lot of love so I'm always looking for more games that would get me to play it more. I'll have to keep an eye out for this one at MGC.
Thanks for the welcome back Cap - I enjoyed putting this one together and there’s a bunch of games that I’d like to do something similar.
Great stuff Musty! Excited to see more like this!
NES Friend I appreciate all the support - hoping to represent the Xbox in the same way you do for the NES.
Nicely done review! I never so much as heard of this game but really enjoy the story to it--some extra effort was certainly put forth here. Odd that it continued over and wrapped up on another system...
There are a ton of oddball shmups in the 6th gen, but mostly on PlayStation. I think that kinda reinforces the “this might not have sold very well on Xbox” = COLLECTIBLE!!
Thanks for watching!
@@XboxerBriefs I think you could shorten that equation to simply "this might not have sold very well on" = COLLECTIBLE the more I think about it. ;-)
Do You Nerd? I could see that, lol.
Good stuff! I played this a few years ago, in a shooter competition, and really enjoyed the game, though I don’t think I made it past stage 2 during that brief (no pun intended) time with the game. Definitely one I need to go back to.
Yeah - it's difficult, no doubt. Confession - I went through on Easy for my playthrough - I'm sure there's a lot more strategy to it (especially with the special power usage) on the higher difficulties.
Musty Hobbit it’s been long enough that I don’t recall the specifics, but there is some technique to the weapons beyond just basic powering up.
Nice job on the review Musty. I will have to keep an eye out for this game!
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Joe
Thanks, Joe! Yeah, surprisingly this one hasn't spiked in price like so many other games have this. Good luck in finding it!
@@XboxerBriefs $44 CAD isn't too bad for a shooter nowadays. It seems this genre seem to retain it's value a lot more over other types of gameplay. This game almost reminds me of the Sega Saturn shooter Radiant Silvergun.
Great review for one of the lesser known titles in the Xbox library!
Blinkoom thanks! It’s a wild one - and the Xbox isn’t really known for its shmups.
I never heard of this game, but the backstory is crazy, really interesting too! Game-play sounds pretty neat too. Shmups are probably one of my most neglected genres. I'll have to keep an eye out for this. Great review!
Aside from Panzer Dragoon Orta, I’d say there aren’t that many shmups on the Xbox. Thanks for watching!
This was so good! Great edits!
Linda - Thank you! I hope to keep iterating on these - thank you for watching!
Great review, Musty. Happy New Year. Cheers M
Thanks M! Happy New Year to you, as well.
Great video, Musty! This game sounds interesting. I went to add it to my Wish List, but it was already there. Will have to consider bumping it up in priority.
Knowing your affinity for shmups, I think you'll dig this one. I didn't mention it in the video, but the gameplay also gives me Silpheed vibes.
Great review! I picked this one up on the cheap a couple years ago but haven’t gotten around to playing it.
Thanks for checking it out! I have a feeling it’s going to end up being one of those games that spikes in value, if only for the “late release, probably lower print run” thing.
Quite a backstory for a shooter!
Seriously had to question if I’d been drugged - it’s that bizarre.
I've seen a lot but always just walked past it, however it looks like a game me and my son would really enjoy so will be keeping a look out for it!
Cheers mate.

"Xyanide" has some of the greatest futuristic electronic music of yesterday & today.....I personally like mission 1 "Hulling Breach".is the name of that beat is bananas....& the story is awesome. It's about "Agira" is be charged for being a 'World Destroyer" witch....her punishment by the judge of Mordor, sent her to be obliterated in the Maelstrom (The Black Hole).....but was rescued by a shooting meteor.......♠️♦️♣️🖤❤♠️
This looks great wish i had a copy of it!
Woohoo! Musty is back!!!
Christopher Pico yessir! Great to get a new video out after so long.
This game scared me and my brother when we played it as kids
