    I am living with my younger brother and I am the cook, oh! yeah, we are 2 guys. anyway. Your many videos made my life so much easier, sometimes because of the recipe you do, other times for doing exactly telling us what is best or better for our needs when cooking. You are by far the best when I am looking for different new things to try. My brother work from home since Covid for a bank, that understood huge towers full of employees driving back and forth daily wasn't that productive, so now he is at home full-time and I enjoyed cooking for both of us. "YOU" have given me great ideas to cook with a Ninja foodi. I love how you explain and set up your recipe, Thank you for been so amazing to us your viewers and your subscribers.

    I'm obsessed with your videos!! You are by far the best teacher. You have saved me hours in the kitchen, hours!! I used to do everything the "old school" way - in the oven, or on the stove top, and now I'm cooking in a Ninja or instant Pot multiple times a day!! Thank you for being so thorough, thanks for sharing your knowledge, and thank you for making cooking fun again!

    I can’t believe that you are the ONLY source out there showing the comparison between the two ninja foodies . Thank you. Ninja didn’t do it . Neither did they have a crisp basket or any type of mesh basket to the 6.5 ninja. As well as not adding a thermometer in it. I guess half way, we are to shake up, or stir up the french fries with a spoon then proceed on to air fry them. Then when it is all over l guess then we have to then lift the fries out with prongs. I have a 6.5 ninja. And this is what I have to do. It’s as if the Ninja company just abandoned us.

      @@TheSaltedPepper I am considering the Foodi. Have never had a Foodi or Instant Pot but I am leaning towards the Foodi. I have 2 kids, it is just the 3 of us. I am wondering whether I should get the 6 or 8 quart? My daughter is 14 and my son is 11. Between Little League, band, plays, choir, lawn care, laundry, house cleaning, president of the bass club, president of the ATV club and work, I am pretty pressed for time, plus I am going back to college in the fall for a 3rd degree. Wasn't sure if you already had one or not, but can you either guide me to or make a video soon of you cooking a meal with the pan set up? Like you said the red bean dish, with cornbread and rice. I would love to see how you actually do that, or another more difficult dish than that with the pan layers. If you have a chance, that's something I would love to see. Thanks so much. Three of them!! Wow! I wish my 8 quart was as quiet as yours. But it works, so that’s okay. Except for when you dehydrate something. Every time it lowers the temp and then raises the temp it’s super loud. Six hours of that was super annoying. On the fries, you used the basket that came with the eight quart, right? With it being deeper I wondered how the air frying compared with the 6.5 quart. There didn’t seem to be much difference. Very informative video. Keep up the awesome work.

    NICE review, but then again I you have an addicted fan here now...you review like you're taking to a friend over coffee. I really enjoy that style plus you're an Foodi Addict...hehehe...
    I was jazzed because I scored the OP401 today as a clearnce one-off at Walmart for $99.79...!!! Even better I was shopping to break in my new Capital One Walmart MC to take advantage of the full year of 5% cashback for the 1st year for all in-store purchases...opps, kinda digressed...but I am so jazzed about finding this deal. I missed the Black Friday Amazon bargains because I just wasn't really aware of the Ninja or even Instapot cookers yet.
    Mine is taking the place of the dead as yesterday Sharp Carousel Convection MW over the stove oven. Not gonna spend another $600+ to replace it for the 3rd time...
    I am so happy. Already cooked a 6lb chicken I had to buy because I found this beastie. Broke it in then went to town...darned chicken was done juicy and crispy in about 25min total. I'm single now and 60ish so a simple one pot device is very appealing. I had already watched several of your videos and had pretty much decided on the Ninja XL sized pot because I like to cook big roasts, pork or beef, and chickens and the like so I have leftovers for the weekend. My stove top is not likely to see much use anymore. I kind of like that and it will be awesome in the RV too....
    Thanks to your tips I had zero problems figuring things out and had no issues cooking from the first try....weeeeee, I know I need therapy!! :p

    Hi, so glad I clicked on your video! New subscriber to your channel & new to Ninja Foodi! I love gadgets & have way too many, but when they make my daily routines easier & more fun, something in me just makes me HAVE to get it! Lol 😂
    Was in Costco 8/3/19 & my fiancé pointed out the Ninja Foodi, he teases me about all my gadgets lol. He read everything it does -aloud- in a super excited voice with saucer size eyes lol 😂 (to mock me & make me laugh)...He knows how muchI love gadgets! 🥰 Plus, this one comes with a crisper pan to crisp or reheat dishes, a roasting rack insert to crisp taco shells/ribs/bread evenly, 4qt cook & crisp basket & the reversible rack!!! $CORE!!!
    But ya know what? I was NOT feeling the ‘I NEED THIS’ excitement like I did back when it 1st came out. (I saw late night commercials & My Kitchen Gadgets videos & she was cooking up EVERYTHING in her Foodi, which had me $OLD! But, I couldn’t justify the purchase, because I did not want to get rid of my individual dehydrator, air fryers, Nuwave oven, pressure cooker, steamer gadgets that I own & use, but he bought it for me anyway & it was even $50 OFF! 😱 (which expired 8/3)! $ALE? HECKY YEAH!!! Lol (I hate for us having to pay full price for anything! Lol) Sooooo, I guess it was meant for me to have it after all! The best gifts are the ‘just because’ ones!!! 💝
    I immediately looked for all the videos I could find & yours was the most eye appealing, professional looking thumbnail & that is what made me choose yours! I also read reviews on Amazon! All this to prepare me for my experimental Ninja dinner today! Love that you showed actual cooking examples, the stacking methods & bands/other accessories that can be used inside! I usually always go for the bigger gadget in case I ever need to cook for family & friends when they visit, but in this case, I actually like the 6.5qt better than the 8qt...if the 8 were wider, then my decision making dilemma would be harder lol. Thanks so much for the comparison! Now, I’m going to binge watch all your Ninja Foodi videos!!! 😍 (I talk a lot when I’m excited! Lol)

    I think they mean it heats faster because of the increased wattage with presumable more food quantity because it's the 8qt, however if you have a smaller amount of food the highest wattage will come to Temp faster.

      I'm sure it can be done in the 8qt Ninja Foodi, but maybe not the 6.5qt. I guess that depends on the height of the beer can holder.

    One way to wrap your mind around bigger is faster (which is NOT always the case) with bigger units u have 1) more air volume and 2) more surface area in the tops, bottoms and sides.
    What this means is that there is more Thermal *Mass* (material that is heated) that the food takes its temperature from. so two ovens with the exact same temperature but different volumes, can cook at different rates due to their ability to deliverer More heat before cooling. (Actually the time saved is pretty much just the time that the device takes to get the temp back up to the required temp.)
    Its a similar thing u get when boiling or frying foods, when u add unheated food stuff to the liquid it 'Cools Off' the liquid until the heater can bring it back up to temperature. so a BIG pot of oil will lose less heat than a small pot would (or adding a small portion of food vs a large portion to the same sized pot)

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I've actually done a little testing and have found that during steaming or pressure cooking, it takes longer in the 8 quart. I'm thinking that this is because there is more area that has to be filled with the steam before it triggers either the pressure cooking pin or in the case of steaming, more steam has to be produced to reach the escape valve. Would love your thoughts and any information you want to add, I love learning about how things work! LOL

    • @armastat
      @armastat 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheSaltedPepper
      Your thought were correct. fyi: Steam is 1600x the volume of the water turned to steam (at the time it turns to steam). The pressure goes up from that point at more steam is created. (not to worry abt the thing exploding, the heaters are such they cant cause that much steam to be generated)
      One other thing I didn't touch on is that while bigger units can have bigger heaters (or at least more heating ability) that does not mean they will work the same. One reason is that heating elements are cheaper if u buy standard sizes, which may or may not be the correct amount needed for the bigger (or smaller if they go that way) unit. and of course getting it custom built to match the new size would be ideal, however more costly.
      Another thing is that IF you double the capacity (like 1.5 ltrt vs 3 ltr) u have actually Quadrupled the surface area where heat is lost (and has to be heated and maintained at that heat to reach a set temperature within those walls of the container). This does not mean u need to have 4x the heat, but it does mean u will need more than just 2x. Its all in the engineering of the thing, Size, shape, materials, insulation, etc. Engineering such things is something I have some experience with (tbh, my headaches from doing that have gotten better, lol)

    Just an fyi, I have chooks. The probability of boiled eggs.is actually not about cook.time.or.ice baths but the age of the.egg. if it's super fresh laid, it won't peel well at all. An older egg, a week or more peels perfect. Fresh laid in washed eggs can store on a bench for months also. I have had good eggs up to 3 months.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have chickens, too. I have pressure cooked their fresh eggs and they peel like a dream. That is not the case on the stove though, they are very hard to peel when they are really fresh.

  • @JanetVanWyck

    I saw the fries are nice and crunchy. First, in Canada, they don't give you a crisper basket only the crisper plate. Will that work as well? Second, I have large consumer or fries. What is the largest amount of fries you can cook at one time and still get them crisp?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have heard the tray works well, but I haven't tried it. I've only done 1 potato cut into fries at a time, so I am not really sure how much you can do. If you put too many in, they might steam instead of crisp. Of course, frozen fries are completely different from fresh and you can put quite a few more frozen in then the fresh.

    It’s the same if you use a pressure cooker or you use A Dutch oven the secret to perfect boiled eggs is cold ice water once you finish regardless of what you use it does the same thing

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erika Arevalos maybe if you put the eggs on a rack inside the Dutch oven, it would be very similar except since no pressure is built, the temp is lower and they will take a little longer in the Dutch oven. I’ve boiled plenty of eggs over the years and it is simply amazing how well a pressure cooker works. The ease of peeling even without an ice water bath is unbelievable. If you have a pressure cooker, give them a try once.

      Fresh cut fries do need the oil to be spritzed on, but frozen ones don't need oil (I think they have some in their coating already) and they come out very crispy.
