After years of watching me build PCs, my dad wanted to give it a try.
Twitter: / austinnotduncan
This build was put together mostly with parts I had lying around so I wouldn't really recommend trying to build this EXACT PC but here are the parts:
Intel Core i3-4130 CPU: amzn.to/21otULa
Asus H81M-A Motherboard:amzn.to/1pmDbI9
8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport RAM: amzn.to/1SJ7Sma
2GB Sapphire Radeon R7 260X Graphics Card: amzn.to/22bPoxh
250GB Crucial BX100 SSD:amzn.to/1SJ83Om
Fractal Design Core 1100 Case: amzn.to/1TWkbwY

Linus- PC Build with my son
Kyle- PC build with my wife
Jayz- PC build with my daughter
Austin- PC build with my dad
Paul- PC build with my brother
Barnacules- PC build with my hand
Not to mention, Linus' THREE year old son.
And my mom doesn't want to let me build on at 15.
***** I'm paying for it? xD
+AlphaLineGaming My mom was similar, she thought that I would be electrocuted and refused to let me build one, but after a while I had finally assured her that I knew what I was doing and (spoilers) I did not die!
Oscar Jonsson She actually agreed to let me build one after I show this video to her. Now I just gotta find the money...
+DJ Jesus. He Died for your spins Wait what? How when did Barnacules build his own PC?
Tell Mr. Evans I said he killed it haha
***** Will do! 👍
Austin Evans which Mr. Evans though?
Yeap he did 👌
Father Son... Good idea.. Good work
Ahmed Hasan اول مرة اشوف عراقي غيري يشوف فيديوهات Austin ...... :)

SuperSaf TV ROFLMAO HIGH FIVE !!
Mr. Rich B.O.B On AMD I just make a small pea because it will squish and spread when you apply the heat sink. Works great for me.

The hardest part of building a PC is buying the parts
Yep...
Go to PCPartpicker.com it'll help u out trust me it helped me so much when I built my first pc
+SyCo swift no, the hardest part is to ask daddy for money ;D
+Baecher Computer yeah 😂 i guess so too
and finding the soft drive
I remember when I use to joke with my dad that he was still using a super old Dell desktop running WinXP lol...then one day I noticed it was running Win7, then I looked through the specs and saw it had an i5-2500k OC at 4.6GHz, 8GB ram, and 2 GTX 470's in SLI...The funniest part is when he came to my room and was like, "hey how's your computer? still liking your AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+? what was your clock? like 3.2GHz? yea that's uhh that's pretty fast." then he smiled and left lol...He built it too and I didn't know at one point my dad was really into computers lol.
+NightMareOSU :O damn
+Kyotza Lew dat athlon 64 x2 doe

+Kyotza Lew so your own dad made you look like a little bitch.
dz9411 pretty much lol
+Irrozan hahah!! thats awesome!
Your dad is a natural! He was fearless. Wouldn't it be great if we could really build computers in 7 minutes?
This is, a tasty burger what a response xD
***** Yeah I know :P That's why I said wouldn't it be great if we could. Though I'd imagine Austin is pretty fast at building a PC by this point!
Instagamrr we can.. we just have to choose the parts.. that takes long!
grindfi Ugh tell me about it! upgrading takes me a while too cause I do too much research haha
This is, a tasty burger Why wouldn't I? Do you want to get blocked instead? Learn to speak with respect
Austin's dad is awesome
TheGeorgeBeare Yeah! haha :)
Wish my dad built something with me....like my childhood....

*cuts to clip of him handing the power supply over*
2 years later after the release of this video i go through the comments and see a few of my favorite TH-camrs commenting on another one of my favorites
if Linus make the same video, i assume they will use two titan x in sli, quad channel ddr4, x99, 5960x,750 series and hard pipe water cooling
Janson Mathew Is you will learning gramer?
Hehe.
Janson Mathew And he or his dad might drop one of those titan x cards.
Janson Mathew he'd definitely not use a 260X lol
Janson Mathew No, it would have a dual Xeon 2699v3.
Janson Mathew and replace that X99 and 5960X with 2 E5-2699 v3's and a dual socket mobo, he has those :)
Great video dude! Your dad is awesome!
#DOM
His dad seems to know what he's doing, and he's REALLY fast
I would build a computer with my dad but he has a degree in computer science and he would probably yell at me if I do something wrong.
+MrPokemon27 why don't you tell him to build you one
+Hasoon nine nah they wont buy me one they say it "destracts" me from studying
MrPokemon27 lol
+MrPokemon27 brown people problems

oh hdd not hhd whoops and
SSD Solid State Drive
HDD Hard Disk Drive
Tucker Kennedy That's HHD, not HDD :)
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Life Cta it was a joke lol
Austin: Whats an hdmi connecter?
Dad: Yeah
My dad works with computers and is the reason why I like computers. He built my PC for me because I knew nothing at the time about computers so it was like the reverse situation of this video (with me being your dad). Now though I put any new parts in myself although if I run into a problem (not necessarily because of something I've done but you know computers and how they can randomly run into a problem) it's really useful to have him there to help me/fix it.
4:41 ok what is a HDMI for?
yeah
Dresden it was a CUT
LMAOOOOO
my dad would never do that with me both my parents hate anything related to computers.
my parents love comuter stuff but they hate me so kind of the same
I would be the only one in the family to do that to computers or my Cousin-in-law.
The world that we live in. lol
Coleton O'Donnell when i lived at home it was the same way with them getting on me if i was on it to long now im on my computer when ever i have time.
brandonhughes7 well my parents think that they will take over the world and so thats why we dont have a toaster anymore....
Lol I built a gaming computer with my dad, except he was the one showing me how to do it XD
Damn I wish I had that kind of Dad LOL
hahaha :-D
same
My dad and I built a pic and I laughed when he got a soldiering iron and I had to explain we didn't need it
same my dad built over 20 computers with his dad so my dad went a little overkill for me. He got he a 960 and a fx 8350.
so nice your dad takes an interest in what you do. wish mine were the same
His dad be like"shut up, I can do it myself"
SlotBar roblox

Kirigaya Kazuto you do know that computer was taken apart after they felt that right?
I like your videos doing computer stuff with your dad. I lost my dad when I was younger, so I hope you enjoy every moment you spend with your dad.
Austin: "Whats an hdmi connector for?"
Austins dad: "yeh"

"Are we putting any soft drives in?"
That pretty much made my day
"I can't touch anything"
Literally 10 seconds later touches power supply
He seemed so nervous. And it's understandable. But he looks like a nice guy. Thanks for sharing.
That feeling when an old man has a better computer than you will ever have in your shitty life of being barely able to pay the bills
***** thats not me but ok

your soooooo lucky n ur dad is very supportive..two nice souls....
"It's notched, so it only goes in o ne way" I hear that every time
Same lol
Your dad is awesome!
That looked relatively easy. I don't know why I didn't build my PC. I thought it would be really difficult and expensive. I ended up just buying a Dell XPS 8700 and it runs like a monster anyway.
ChunkyBunny2 Definitely worth building one yourself, It may be different where you are from but the Australian versions of the Dell XPS 8700 aren't so good. $2200 for the best model and it only has a 750ti GPU.
ChunkyBunny2 Building a pc yourself is very very easy, even for the wiring, though the front panel connectors is a little bit hard to connect as they are so small and so close together. It took me 10 mins to assemble one, and another 10 for clean cable management, first try btw. It's only hard if you want to build custom water cooling build.
MrAdelaideRS - Runescape Vlogging Extraordinaire Lol what. My 520 € PC has a 750 Ti.
@Chunky: I'd sell that Dell for as much as you can get and build an even more monstrous PC for the money.
InfinityCraft I agree with this guy ^
ChunkyBunny2 It can be pretty daunting at first but once you assemble the first one, next one should be easier, like GriggsCk Gaming mentioned the hardest thing can be the front panel connectors otherwise everything is pretty easy to plug in and most time consuming would be if got 3rd party cpu fan since like you saw in this video, the one that comes with it is just click and done.(and well connecting it of course)
Austin, your dad is just as cool as you are! I'd certainly love to see more content featuring your family
Congratulations on 1,000,000 subs Austin, you have more than worked hard for it and it is well deserved. Love your unique style of videos and the content is always a good watch.
Thanks!
Hey Austin this is Dad
*Austin:* "What does HDMI do?"
*Austin's Dad:* "Yeah"
Best part.
This is great, a father and son project. When he completes the computer the dads face lights up with joy. He is definitely proud of his son. :)
Your dad is amazing Austin. It would so fun chilling with him and you.
Austin: "Okay, what is the HDMI for?"
Austin's Dad: "Yeah"
Your dad is awesome
i must say you have one kind of a dad, congrats and take care of each other you two, nice video
This was sick Austin! It has inspired me to do more things like this with my dad! I will talk to him about it when he gets back from the grocery store, we are playing hide and seek right now, I have been trying to find him for 15 years! Darn he is good, can't wait to tell him about this!
More dad vids or RIOT!
It's always so entertaining watching "old" people do stuff like this!
One minute and I'm already subscribed. Good job getting your dad involved. This is great
4:39
"what is the HDMI for?"

Your Dad Hands were badly shaking ! :D Shy Person :)

dude he probably has like parkinsons
RageStorm777 it's natural because he doesn't want to break something
Austin, could you do a build serious on pc that are good for editing and rendering.
***** If you are doing alot of editing and rendering on your PC, shouldn't you be able to choose the parts yourself? 4790K/5820K + any graphics card, BTW
Casual G4mer Perferably a workstation GPU
Casual G4mer RazgrizFilms atm i can game and play H1Z1 on alright settings but when i start recording photoshop (check channel) it struggle really bad.
***** What you should get depends on your budget. Is it like $1000 or $50 000
Casual G4mer
GAH!!!!
you have great dad in this world . thanky guys
You're dad seems like a nice person.. Keep up man.. try to maybe build with your dad another PC.. This is gonna be the best moments of him with you..
Imagine The Angry Grandpa trying to build a PC!
George Cruz hHAHAHAH THANKS. It would be the funniest thing ever.
+pcgaming today hed brake the case while trying to open it lol
Q: "What's a HDMI for?"
A: "Yes"
Nice answer old man :D
Hi , I liked watching you and your dad , building the computer. I am 80 years old, and keep on trying to build them with old parts, Seeing someone, if not as old but of the elder generations doing so , gives me a lift, which I appreciate very much, Saying this I wish more people would cater for us (OLD YINS) as we say in Scotland' Once again thank you and keep videoing.
great video. I miss my dad a lot. you are lucky to have him with you
Up next: building a quantum computer with my dad.
Just came here to like the video. Saw it already on Facebook :)
Si ț
Excellent man, you can share a moment with your dad, that´s pretty cool! Well done Mr. Evans!
I like it how Austin kept it simple and not OP. I bet someone was expecting to put an i7 and a badass GPU
I wish my dad would do the same.
I expect the future to be like:
This is my build guys can it run gta VIII?:
Core I8 7660K
124GB ram
GTX 9080Ti
answer:you obviously need at least 200 gigs of ram for gta, just pick another stick of 124 theyre only 20USD so why not?
:')
You forgot you need an SLI bro and core i9
+Mister Mistersen Sure after I upgrade to Windows 288
I recommend the Xeon E237291392 163837473828 core processor to run that version of Windows. Also a gtx 9080ti sli
no u need a i23 69550000x
oh okay ill just buy it for 6485452 dollars
This was quite a nice video. It's good to see a Father-Son team. I got a nice grin on my face because it seemed the both of you were enjoying each others company while the PC was being built. Cheers. :)
This was a lot of fun! Quite enjoyed the different perspective and personality.
Great Job Austin!
Can it run 3D Pinball Space Cadet?
mariomario813 no, need a better graphics card
A Titan Z should be just enough.
Nader Sunna 1080 sli
ZeroG Yep, for low settings.
Nader Sunna Sadly :(
Someone make a gif of his dad putting his hands up. 3:23
FatedCb I cat make it but.....who am I kidding...I did but it didnt get famous..Oh and fancy seeing you here
Dude. That was a nice thing you did. Thanks for always putting up high quality stuff.
Thanks for sharing this. What a great video to see family working on gadgets!
I'm thinking of getting this build what do you think:
- Titan X x2
- 32GBS RAM
- Intel Atom @ 0.8GHz
- PSU 50watt
That's overkill man
+Amusix Get a 5 GB case to keep your build nice and cool. Also get a gtx 420 because that's better than the titan. Make sure the gtx 420 is more than 20000000000 RPM or it will be loud.
Thanks for the help
Amusix You know nothing about computers.
***** Ok im now getting a 25watt 100000000000rpm power supply i need cheapen things
ur dad does everything pretty fast in the build if it was me i would've done everything in slo mo
U Wot M8 My PC had so much problems that it took me 12 hours to build
seeing you and you dad surely made me suscribe .. that was really sweet and educational in the sense that technology is actually quite simple
This is dope man, props to you and your dad (y)
hope he enjoys his new pc
I'm really touched seeing this video :) You should have uploaded it during Father's day
#Under301club
You forgot the floppy disk
i love that you and your dad have such a great relationship. Well done!
Hope having a dad like this
You're dad looks like stan lee a little
Hey this guys is Austin
Hey look he's repeating old jokes
oh look he's looking to build his gaming pc but wants daddies to do it and ended up on this video as a result
Mahel's Reviews ayy banter. Also, a 60 year old's pc has better cable-management than yours - let that sink in.
not like my pc is gonna be set on fire and besides, getting a new one in a year or two
I wish I had a dad like yours or I wish my dad had a better sense of humour and was more open and had more time to do stuff with me like this
Your dad is your treasure. Keep him safe!
