Im proud to say i met George back stage in Melbourne Victoria Australia in rhe mid 80s. Brilliant human being that not only signed my Wham T shirt but he asked me if he could take a photo together with me.
Ive watched this documentary many times. My two favorite performances are the MTV unplugged gig with his mom in the audience and the Freddy Mercury tribute concert. I grew up listening to George and i dont see the when i wont. The man was the total package, a one off. We'll never see another George Michael in our lifetime.
I was in the front third of the crowd at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, and when George came on and sang I was "finally someone who knows what Queen were about, and can do the songs justice!". It was a powerful performance from him, setting the bar too high for everyone else to reach that day. The lowest point was probably when Axel Rose butchered Bohemian Rhapsody.
He is full of shit and full of himself and if he walked out in the streets and no one recognized him he'd be a sad crying little man. I am a huge fan of his but this part of him makes me sick. Because it's so fake. I don't like the transition he made from WHAM to Faith to this old decrepit bathe was before his death
I wonder if George had any childhood friends and how he treated them when he got super rich and famous ? Cos he looked like the kind of guy who if he saw a homeless guy would give him 40 quid
anyone else notice that people who crave fame dont want to engage with the very people that made them famous in the first place and made them so money rich, unless the have that physical barrier between them and the paying, adoring public?
George started when he was very young - thank heavens he had Andrew by his side. They went through the Wham! rollercoaster together & over time with Andrew's help, George grew more confident within himself & his ability as a singer, songwriter & producer. I think the success of Faith took him by surprise & things went to another level - when you are faced with that you just have to hold on, try & get through the ride the best you can. It couldn't have been easy at the time for him. Then when you become a massive star, people expect more of you but in George's case he just wanted to release great music. He hated the promo side of things which so many artists do. They are creative people. George was a star before social media, streaming etc - if it was difficult then, it would be an absolute nightmare now.
Agree but shame he didnt have time for one on one with a fan ya know but people will say it's his personal protection people pulling the strings @@soundmuseumau
Jack worked very hard for his. When he first came to England he worked seven days a week as a Waiter. If there was one thing that George got from Jack was a strong work ethic. He went over everything in his career with a fined tooth comb. It's so impressive to know that so many UK Musicians 🇬🇧 met at children at school. Banarama, Tears For Fears, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Duran Duran. I could be wrong but were there any others.
one man says ...i never meet rich happy man....look how he died same like other celebrities...i like his songs but fame and money not allways means happines
Fandom is a strange thing. When I was younger I would often meet celebrities after various tv show tapings or instores. When I moved into media I interviewed them & done red carpets etc - it was fun.
This documentary is brilliant. George Michael had true God given talent and really blessed the world with his music. Thank you for uploading this.
It is an excellent documentary which George was involved in to promote his album Patience in 2004.
He was ok, but Andrew Ridgeley was the true talent.
A true humble talented singer -also gave a lot to charity❤ much missed 😢
What a singer and immense Human Being, RIP GM 🙏🕊

Oh that’s so lovely - what a special moment. I sadly never got to see Wham/George live.
@@soundmuseumau many of us didn't nor Michael Jackson
I got to see MJ once in NZ, he was in his prime - was an amazing concert.

If there has been one docu on George there's been a hundred. Why can't people just realize how talented he was and leave his memory alone.
George was actually involved in this documentary, it's an official one to promote his album Patience in 2004.

@@EgoShredder You are absolutely correct, Axel has always been such a joke. George was spot on.
Loved his music.
A confident little boy raises a finger. History is then made.
Love love love A different story, thank you for sharing it with us 💜
My pleasure 👍
Such a nice guy
The Prince of Pop (Michael Jackson is the King) had one of the best male voices in music history.
Last Christmas e the definitive Christmas song
He loved it all ❤

Bless him, 11 days off his anniversary. 😒

George was very giving - he had a lot of close friends whom he had known a long time including Andrew & Shirley
@soundmuseumau I don't have any close friends :) some of us are just better or worse in that department

I don't agree in this case.

He gave plenty to his fans, It's his life he lived it how he wanted, I would never judge someone over their own choices.
I have all 3 versions of this …
Part 2 is also live now - more is coming in the new year 👍
Where's part 2...link doesn't work??

5:02. Watch your words.
I know right - was difficult watching that bit.
Any documentary that begins with Simon Cowell deserves me immediately hitting the OFF button.
one man says ...i never meet rich happy man....look how he died same like other celebrities...i like his songs but fame and money not allways means happines
And George knew that 💜
He didn’t like the fame but liked the fame.
Right, he wanted it when he wanted it.
It’s a tough one
Everyone deserves a private life whatever your job. When these celebs aren't working just let them be.
the band wah droped out of TOTP
Why people are so pathetic waiting for celebrities to get out of a building 🤦♂️
Fandom is a strange thing. When I was younger I would often meet celebrities after various tv show tapings or instores. When I moved into media I interviewed them & done red carpets etc - it was fun.
dislike his reaction to the italian fans
It must be very difficult in that situation
