George Michael was not in my generation. I am about 30 years before him and had never heard of him until my godchild told me about him. I decided to look him up on my tablet and listen to him singing. I came upon his concert “Killer” and watched it and thought to myself “Wow! I would have loved to have attended thus concert! I then searched all of his songs and performances and just fell in love with him. I loved his music, I loved his look, his personality, his mannerisms, the way he talked and on and on. When I found out he had died, I was crushed and still am. I listen to his music all the time and just admire him so much. I think he was not only talented but a loving and caring man. His sexuality meant nothing to me. He was free to choose any lover he wanted as we all do. He was a man to be admired and loved and I do love him even if I am about 35 years older than he was.

I am 72yrs old and listened to him since wham and instantly was overwhelmed by their talent. George was definitely very good looking and what a great voice. His sexuality didn't effect my admiration of him, he was such a beautiful and talented man that definitely is missed
I’m 81 now but back in 1984 I took my 8 year old daughter to see Wham! live in Toronto. It was a great show! I’ve always loved his voice - such a great singer!
A man with a voice unlike anyone else's. He's in a class of his own. The emotions he shows in his face. The talent he has,, no one else possesses. Listening to him u could believe you're in a world of your own. There will never be anyone like him again. He had a heart of gold and helped when he could and donated to many charities not wanting any recognition for this. He's amazing

I grew up with Wham and George Michael, although I liked Andrew Ridgeley, i loved George. It's only as I became older I appreciated what a talent he was. He seemed such a kind man, obviously not perfect and he seemed to have his troubles. All that adoration but it was only the idea of George Michael we loved. I still love all his music, from Wham which reminds me of my own youth to the songs and performances of later years which I appreciate so much now. RIP George
One line in this doc says it all: There was always the music. That was George's legacy. He said in interviews that he would be gone and his 'scandals' would be gone but the music would endure. The music will always be there.

There is something that I can't really understand about singers n super stars!seems as if God gave them extraordinary gift to intertain others but inside they are lonely n insecure, the only time they feel alive is only when they perform. Elvis,Michael Jackson,Whitney, Marvin Gaye etc.
For all of the stunning beauty of his voice and the songs he wrote, I really can't think of many people as gorgeous to look at. For year after year, beginning to end, he was just breathtaking to behold.
I too was older and never new about this fabulous singer writer .when a friend of my younger introduced me to his music I was in oar.that beautiful voice his appearance I fell in love with his music. Not on day goes by that I don't listen to his music,videos. He was spectacular. RIP.
He deserved more love in his life. I think in his last years he was pretty lost, since daily drug use, alcohol use and weight gain, living isolated. He was a sensitive soul.
What a wonderful man. Thhere has been no man since Elvis Presley that has been so loved and respected. His voice so beautiful any song he would make absolutely incredible. Certainly a musical genius. So true! I felt the same when my favourite artist made a song Freedom ‘90 just to match my country’s fight for our freedom, it’s like somehow je just to knew. I felt so lucky to be able to see him live three times for 25Live (Berlin, Glasgow) - and when I couldn’t fit the travel for Symphonica - He came to me! That is 😊 to Zagreb, my hometown. It was such a gift for me, so wonderful. Soon after he went to Vienna and ended up in coma, etc and I was really heartbroken for him. I think he never recovered fully, but oh, he was even better live then on TV! Such great artist and person!

He always made a cover song his own and by doing so it was a great tribute to the original writers and performers. NEVER EVER will there be anyone to come even close to his talent. Two things, one, he was taken way to soon! And 2, his music, lyrics, and ability to arrange/write music in a way that was so amazing. I was blessed to attend his 25 concert in Anaheim, Ca. At the pond. When I heard that he passed on that Christmas week, I was profoundly affected. It was like a true brother was taken. I'm forever grateful that he left so many beautiful songs and CDs. I lived thru many celebrities’ deaths,but none has gutted me more than George Michael’s.He made my handicapped body move with his live performances.He touched my soul with them too.I’m still listening and singing and dancing in my own way to his music. God, I miss this beautiful man. His rendition of The Long and Winding Road is heartbreaking. What is amazing is his live performance was so sublime that it was included on the B side of Freeek! What performer do we have now whose live performance is good enough to be included on a record as if it was produced in a studio? It's now spring, but when I hear his songs, I still cannot hold back tears. His death has so affected me, I could never have imagined.
It is wrong we take people for granted. I loved his work particularly later in his career - watched so much since he has gone. Appreciate him more and more and it really breaks my heart - maybe that I had a brother long gone who loved him too adds to the grief. George was a glorious talent and interpeter of other people's songs. I can't think of him and not cry. I think I took him for granted when he was alive like one of those music blessings we expect to just be around forever. He will be. Just not in the way we all want. x

I am so proud of him as a person and his work, how outspoken he was about all the media scrutiny. He was a great intellect! He explained in 2008 at Madison Square Gardens that he released the music but after the toilet incident the radio stations refused to play it..... More fool you! It's both ironic and sad that in his youth he craved success and to be recognised only for it to eventually lead to his demise. It didn't give him what he thought it would. That beautiful voice and millions of adoring fans and yet he died totally alone on Christmas day. We seem to measure success in two ways. 1. How many people know you exist, and 2. The money you have. When I look at poor George, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and many more it surely proves that that's not the case. Too much of anything rarely works out well. He had probably the best voice in the world for singing ballads. Very sad. RIP George.
even after all this time i still easily cry at his unexpected passing. GKP18 I totally agree that his voice was stunning on the song for Linda McCartney tribute. I saw him on Parkinson show around the time of 98 and he did a version of different corner that was beautiful and absolutely pitch perfect.
Actually anyone who says that he couldn't recreate his voice live like on disc etc was very much mistaken. He had a voice like melting honey....

His music was the soundtrack to my life. He was my teen years in WHAM, and Careless Whisper. Then in college it was Father Figure & I want your sex. In the 90’s his music truly saw me through a wicked divorce. In my adult years he graced me with so many wonderful songs, then the absolutely gorgeous masterpiece “Symphonica.”

So true! I felt the same when my favourite artist made a song Freedom ‘90 just to match my country’s fight for our freedom, it’s like somehow je just to knew. I felt so lucky to be able to see him live three times for 25Live (Berlin, Glasgow) - and when I couldn’t fit the travel for Symphonica - He came to me! That is 😊 to Zagreb, my hometown. It was such a gift for me, so wonderful. Soon after he went to Vienna and ended up in coma, etc and I was really heartbroken for him. I think he never recovered fully, but oh, he was even better live then on TV! Such great artist and person!

His music always spoke to me. He seemed so much wiser than his years. He had an incredible way of illustrating via his music the joy & beauty of life. Conversely he could covey through verse and song those unspeakable hurts we all have felt, but rarely have the courage to speak of.
As he aged, his artistry grew and matured, and we did with it.
I will forever treasure his beautiful heart, voice and the way he shared both his triumphs and failures. He was an incredibly brave and talented man. I miss him almost as much today as I did the day we learned we had lost him.

The BEST rendition of The Long and Winding Road EVER. Well of course it has to be when it is sung by our beautiful GEORGE. He always made a cover song his own and by doing so it was a great tribute to the original writers and performers. NEVER EVER will there be anyone to come even close to his talent. At the pond. When I heard that he passed on that Christmas week, I was profoundly affected. It was like a true brother was taken. I'm forever grateful that he left so many beautiful songs and CDs. I lived thru many celebrities’ deaths,but none has gutted me more than George Michael’s.He made my handicapped body move with his live performances.He touched my soul with them too.I’m still listening and singing and dancing in my own way to his music.

God, I miss this beautiful man. His rendition of The Long and Winding Road is heartbreaking. What is amazing is his live performance was so sublime that it was included on the B side of Freeek! What performer do we have now whose live performance is good enough to be included on a record as if it was produced in a studio? It's now spring, but when I hear his songs, I still cannot hold back tears. His death has so affected me, I could never have imagined.

It is wrong we take people for granted. I loved his work particularly later in his career - watched so much since he has gone. Appreciate him more and more and it really breaks my heart - maybe that I had a brother long gone who loved him too adds to the grief. George was a glorious talent and interpeter of other people's songs. I can't think of him and not cry. I think I took him for granted when he was alive like one of those music blessings we expect to just be around forever. He will be. Just not in the way we all want. x

OMG! You are just so right! I was a teenager when I really fell in love with Georges music, basically in the 90's. But since he has passed I just can't get over this one. I am so proud of him as a person and his work, how outspoken he was about all the media scrutiny. He was a great intellect! George, you are a man of honor and class, and so much talent writing, directing, singing. We miss you so so much!

What a shame American media never accepted or appreciated George when he was alive & making music.... He explained in 2008 at Madison Square Gardens that he released the music but after the toilet incident the radio stations refused to play it..... More fool you! It's both ironic and sad that in his youth he craved success and to be recognised only for it to eventually lead to his demise. It didn't give him what he thought it would. That beautiful voice and millions of adoring fans and yet he died totally alone on Christmas day.
We seem to measure success in two ways. 1. How many people know you exist, and 2. The money you have. When I look at poor George, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and many more it surely proves that that's not the case. Too much of anything rarely works out well. He had probably the best voice in the world for singing ballads. Very sad. RIP George.

he was just perfection for me and i feel ill always remember how i felt when i heard the saddest news on that poignant day, just utter disbelief and when i think of him and still wish he had been able to fill the void.
