When some people are being awfully loud in a movie theater, holding conversations at full volume, I sometimes butt into their conversation, ruin it and then resume watching the movie with that sweet silence.

When someone jumps into an argument, not knowing anything about the situation, & tries to be a peacemaker. Even though you are in right & should be mad. Saying shit like: "everyone calm down"..
Edit: People are taking my comment out of context & using irrational examples such as murder.
    - Ex: Let's say you have been bullied by this person & no one steps up for you so you do it yourself. You are in right to be mad & stand up for yourself. You coming in & saying "calm down" isn't help & is essentially gaslighting the victim.

I had a friend who was oddly possessive of her bf and insecure about me being around him. For a convention trip we were both planning to cosplay as two characters from a comic we liked alot but she didn't approve saying she didn't want people at the con thinking we were a couple. I got mad about it because I already had my costume but I decided to respect it and went in a different one. He still wore his intended costume so in short, we were both these serial killer characters with their own seperate stories and backgrounds. At the meetup location we were the first two there and I was in the middle of putting fake blood on my face and he asked to borrow some. His girlfriend came to the location and was visibly annoyed we were both wearing fake blood. She proceeded to keep away from the rest of the group with him for the majority of the con.
We had other incidents with her being insecure about me and her bf being friends, but that was the biggest "Is this b*tch serious" moment she had. To top it off, they both knew I'm a lesbian, therefore I was IN NO WAY going to have bad intentions with the bf or whatever.

I mafe it clear when I came out to him I had no intentions with her (Frankly for respect of him obviously, as well as she just wasn't my type.) And he understood fully, it was her actions making him uncomfortable though since she's bi and it was making him feel insecure in the relationship. She did him dirty later down the line and on top of the clingy controlling character she was giving off he broke it off with her and she kinda blamed me for it.
Girl was weird but I never really considered her focus was on me and not always him. I just didn't fully understand the nonsense of all of it.

Went to Walmart. Accidently forgot my wallet in the car. Didn't know that until I was needing to checkout. Asked an employee to watch my stuff while I went out to get it. I was sort of in a hurry by this point. I am also not wearing a mask because where I live, you're lucky if you can find them... and Corona isn't a big deal here yet (if it will ever be, it's sort of a semi-rural community).
On my way back to the store, a woman is in the parking lot with her mask on, walking towards the store. She's somewhat elderly, so I get it. She's about 20 feet in front of me. She stops in the middle of the road to tell a guy walking out (more than 6 feet away from her) "Don't sneeze, don't breathe" and point at him. He has no mask on and keeps moving while giving her a weird look. I keep walking because, hey, she's still 15 feet ahead of me.
She stays stopped in the middle of the road, looking around her. She spots me behind her and points at me, "don't sneeze, don't breathe". I ignore her, 'cause obviously she's sort of "not right in the head", but I'm still more than 6 feet away from her. At about 8-10 feet away from her (she's still just standing still in the middle of the road), she loses her marbles. She is blocking foot traffic at this point, and I had been ignoring her as it appeared she was going to try to start a conversation with me as "don't sneeze, don't breathe" was I guess the initial way she was going to talk and she had started another sentence before losing her marbles.
Anyway, at about 8 feet she yells at me, "get away!" and starts hopping backwards and further out of the way trying to get further than 15 feet away while cursing me out.
She's calling me a jerk and inconsiderate and trying to go on and on about how she's immune compromised and I need to stay more than 6 feet away from her. I just keep walking and ignore her. Because... if she hadn't stopped in the middle of the road to try to engage people in conversation and block foot traffic, she'd have remained 20 feet in front of me. But, her desire to stop put her within 8 feet of me... and I'm sorry, but I'm not going to stop or change direction or whatever just to avoid a moron who doesn't know "keep moving".
As I was leaving, I saw her inside the store, surrounded by people less than 3 feet away from her, with few of them having masks on, and she wasn't losing her marbles there.
People like that should be put in mental institutions. They are clearly incapable of taking care of themselves.

May I ask with regards to masks are there not people popping up selling cloth masks? I'm asking cause I'm curious on how people in other countries are reacting during the pandemic.
Like in South Africa it is mandatory to wear a mask in public and since the start of the Lockdown many people have taken the opportunity to start making and selling cloth masks.

    • @XxTaiMTxX
      @XxTaiMTxX 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@UnicornBeeches Certain places in the US, it's mandatory to have masks out and about in public. Where I live is sort of a low population rural community where it doesn't matter all that much (population 10,000 people at most).
There aren't people selling cloth masks here yet, but the epidemic essentially missed us 'cause we were smart about dealing with it.
Everyone was told to stay home and go nowhere they didn't need to be. Everyone complied for two months. If people were sick with anything at any point, they were told to stay home and see the doctor no matter what. Didn't matter if you had an ear infection or your allergies bothering you increased your temp to a fever. Most businesses were closed basically immediately and went to "curbside service" after the first two weeks. In the first 3 days of shutdown, we set about getting everyone able to work from home possible.
Now, there's a lot of people NOT doing what they're supposed to (we have a lot of people from out of state here right now 'cause they want to go on vacation and do fishing... but they're jackasses who should be at home!).
For the last 3 months, we had less than 40 cases of COVID in the area. In the last month, with everyone traveling in from out of state or out of town like jerks... we're up over 100 cases.
Masks really are great to have, but they're not really necessary so long as everyone is remaining in quarantine like they're supposed to. Go to the store when you absolutely have to. Go to work if you absolutely have to. Stay home once you're there. Don't invite people over and don't go visit friends or family. Get a haircut if you absolutely must, but avoid it if possible so you don't endanger others. Visit the doctor if you're running a fever at all and get tested.
The major issue we're having is that people are thinking, "Oh, as long as we wear masks and gloves, we're safe!" when that's not the case at all. These things REDUCE risk but do not ELIMINATE risk. Especially if you are not disinfecting masks and swapping gloves every few hours or after every use. So, people are out and about infecting others just because they think, "oh, if I wear a mask, I'm 100% safe now!".
People need to just stay the hell home.

My earliest memory of having such a moment was in 3rd grade. However far into the school year this incident happened was more than enough to notice this girl who never tried to pay attention in class. The other classmates didn't like her because of it, so they on purposely grouped among each other when it came to completing worksheets after reading "Ms. Rumphius" as a class. We were expected to reread the book in pairs and answer the worksheets afterwards. Because I ended up having to be paired with that girl, I was already pissed off but I tried to get tough with her to let her know that she needed to take it seriously. After advising her to take turns reading the book, that's when she told me that she didn't know how to read. I was so pissed off that I went to tell my teacher in hopes she would give off a reaction because not being able to read in 3rd grade isn't normal. All my teacher said was "good you can read the book to her," and walked away. I don't know if she was too stressed to notice the problem, but I didn't get anything accomplished during that moment because I wasted all that time trying to reread the whole book to the girl and she still wouldn't pay attention either. I still don't get how my teacher expected that girl to answer her worksheet.

Had an incredibly lazy co-worker that was famous in the office for staring out the window. We think they kept him for tax reasons because a mild disability (something with back and not being able to lift more than a certain weight) of his meant reduced taxes for them. He was incredibly lazy and also kind of a dumbass. He was also totally shameless in his laziness sometimes.
Got assigned to customer service with him and we were loaded with work. I had exams I had to take so I had to take a week off, at which point the department lead said one of the other two would have to take over my late shift and they need to discuss it between them how they handle it, suggesting they either split it or one of them can owe the other a week taking over their late shift. (as would I)
This dude legit sat there maybe 3 seconds, turned around to face the other worker, then without ANY sarcasm and being completely serious, said: "What if you take over his shift for next week, and then my week after that too?"
I have no idea what went on in his head there but he somehow seemed to think this was a fair suggestion. He offered nothing and took everything. It was INCREDIBLE to watch this guy's mind "work" sometimes. I struggled to hold back a laugh when he said it. Admittedly, now working somewhere else, I sometimes miss the guy because despite what absolute dead weight he was as a co-worker, it was extremely entertaining to watch his strange, shameless and nonsensical excuses to get out of work.

In my culture, we eat with our right hands directly, so we have kettles/jugs/whole barrels of water to wash our hands for during public/open-air/yard wedding receptions, if not sinks or pipes. This one wedding I attended to as a guest, I had just finished eating so I got to one plastic kettle to wash my own hand. Suddenly, a lady intercepted me midway and held out her own hand right in front of me for me to wash, while she simultaneously was... animatedly talking to her companion beside her. She didn't even look at me. So I washed her hand for her until she's finished and she walked away without even acknowledging me. Of course I mumbled to myself and started to wash my own hand... and... surprise! The kettle's water was* now completely gone. I washed her hand for her with the last remaining water in the kettle... So I had to go look for another one to wash my own hand. This sometimes happens to busy/packed receptions - that the water for handwashing needs to be refilled often and sometimes there are more empty containers than refilled ones. I felt like an idiot.

You'd think that having a relative that was born in the late 40s would have known about the segregation. And yet, she STILL doesn't know why they're protesting and why Black Lives Matter movement is still happening. She refused to go to a doctor in the UK, because doctors in her own country were the 'only ones you could trust,' or to stay at home, even when she was so ill she almost passed out at work. She wouldn't wear a mask because 'the materials in them will make me far more sick than covid.' My stepdaughter is a piece of work. For years, she threw vile tantrums at anyone who crossed her. She turned up in our kitchen, raging and sobbing, every time her latest BF dumped her. She is self-centred, neurotic, controlling, judgmental and manipulative.
Finally, she landed a man who was so weak that he should have had WELCOME stamped up his back like a doormat.
They had two sons. Anyone who wanted to visit to see the boys had to have blood tests in advance and show her the written evidence that we didn’t have disease. I refused. I was banned from visiting. I have not seen the boys in five years.
Two years ago, her mother, my wife, died of cancer. We barely spoke at the funeral.
Six months later, her milquetoast husband turned up at my front door to say that my stepdaughter felt she was entitled to her mother’s jewelry and wanted it delivered (so she didn’t have to speak to me).

One time while commuting back home from my university at a train station, this guy asks for money and tells me, unprovoked, his reason why he desperately needs it. It was something along the lines of needing to get a cab to see his mom after having lost his car or something. I told him I couldn't give him any money (I literally did not have any cash on me), at which point he says I can get money from a nearby train station. I still hesitated to give him any money, but I did offer to lend him my phone to call his mom so she can pick him up. (I should probably mention that this was the first time I had this kind of interaction, so I wasn't 100% sure how to react).
I unlocked my phone and opened the phone app and gave it to him. He "called", and talked in a language I didn't recognize. That wasn't suspicious, but I say "called" because he had pressed an oddly low number of keys before calling, and found it odd there was no ringing nor was there any voice heard on the other end. (My phone wasn't on speaker, but you could still hear the other end if you close enough, which I was). Luckily, he didn't run off with my phone and gave it back when he was done.
I was about to walk away when he continued to ask for money, saying his mom couldn't pick him up (I forgot what his excuse was). When I hesitated, he pointed to his pants and shoes as a way of telling me that he was trustworthy. While the shoes were brightly coloured and shiny that made him look somewhat wealthy, everything else about him looked like a mess. Plus, how was this supposed to make me trust him any more than I did? I was politely telling him I couldn't give him any money and tried to walk away, at which he tried to hug me.
Now, the unprovoked hug was clearly enough to set off danger alarms in my head, even for someone who was as inexperienced in human interactions as I was. I simply backed away, telling him sorry that I can't give him money and walked away as fast as I could. To be honest, I actually felt kinda bad because there was a part of me that gave him a benefit of doubt. Maybe he really did need money to get a cab to see his mother, and it wasn't a scam. I really hoped someone else could give him the money; There were a lot of commuters there.
Fast forward 1 week later, I was commuting to my university from home at a completely different train station, kilometres away from where we last met. I was listening to music on my headphones when this guy kind of leans into my line of sight and asks for money using the same story. He clearly doesn't remember me when I turned to look at him, which basically a dead giveaway that he was a bullshit artist who tried to scam a lot of people.
I can still clearly remember saying, "Seriously?" while looking at him dead in the eye. He just backed off saying sorry. Not a minute later, he tried this shit with another commuter less than 10 metres away from me. Still regret not telling him to go f*ck himself.

I feel like "just putting a baby in a person's lap" just seems like the type of thing that results in your baby getting stolen. Like, how is this a thing

My older brother did something. Nothing happens. Later that day, I do the same thing. He gets mad at me and say “what you did and what I did are completely different”

to the women in the movie theatre, i’ve had an experience basically the same except the result was different, i was watching end game and the lady came in and wouldn’t shut up etc. so when i asked her to be quiet she told me to not listen to her conversation, so i said “ if you weren’t so fucking loud i’d have an option not to “ she shut up pretty quick
