My dad had several of those Lancers in the 60s and 70s..They had Valients and Lancers in the early 60s and he had both. I remember the trunk lid having a circle on it resembling a spare tire that wasn't a spare tire
I've always liked those early Lancers and Valiant's. My Papaw had a 62 valiant when I was a boy it was the first car I ever saw with push button drive. Ive always liked the looks of the Lancer, I like the round taillights and absence of that fake spare tire on the trunk lid like the valiant had.👍
The early A-bodies are fantastic cars, the 61 is a small step up though, nicer tail lights, nicer dash, floor shifter and much nicer grille (even though @heavensmopars made a fantastic job to restore this one)
@@rustandmagic They are great. Not only for their unique styling in these years but also for the foundation they set for all the A body cars that came later. 👍
lol. I liked the blind commentary they were providing. And I missed the shot of you literally running away from it. 😂. Thanks for the long trek to get it here!
Very cool Dodge, I do sheetmetal fabrication so that's what I tackle on my Mopars. Enjoy seeing you guys work on this car and everyone's contribution but please ditch the FORD emblem, it should have stayed with the FORD guys.

Sorry. Was thinking of Witty. 🤦 It was fun to have them there while we were doing the swap even if they were in the truck box. 😂
I used to see those Lancers and Valients like that all the time in the 1960’s but not so much in the last 30-35 years or so.
