no electric motor will ever beat the scream of a 2 stroke power band, idc if its a 450 electric equivalent im picking a 125 2t everyday
IC engines can't compete with the power and torque of modern electric motors and lithium batteries, with an almost flat discharge curve to 90%+ capacity, it's not even close...

@@Mr.Storytime959 Not sure if you are just ignorant to facts or a die-hard fossil fuel dude but... Professional rider on a pro track racing the 500cc 2-stroke "Kong" versus the Stark Varg resulted in 0.35 seconds difference so... no raping here...

@@kootenaykid465Ehh.... I don't know, 2 stroke engines are very picky (even pickier are these high performance ones in dirt bikes) which fuel they get otherwise wrong octane fuel in there and the engine is gonna need a rebuild..... period.

gas will cost you 0.14 $/mile while electric 0.05 $/mile I charge all my cars only with solar completely free for last 4 years. Cost of solar is offseted by government tax credit and per monthly payments of excess energy sales to local electric company.

They're fun but you basically need a backyard track, battery life Blue balls tf outta you if you ride hard, multiple motos, or long distance trails. Electric is really great as urban explorers right now, imo

Whoever converted a YZ250 into electric should get arrested. That’s a crime against everything! It’s like repainting over a 400 year old painting but swapping out the colours because “they are more eco friendly” like hell no leave it alone
The Feel of pulling the throttle on a two stroke there’s nothing like it ,,The Sound & smell gives you a great feeling.
Electric Cars and Golf carts have a Different Feeling also compared to my old 70 Camaro 396!
But we all enjoy different rides!

I had a modded surron for about two years and swapped it to get a YZ250. I've ridden the YZ for about 3 months now and I gotta say...IT'S BEEN THE BEST 3 MONTHS OF MY RIDING LIFE.

Gas will NEVER be dead. Also.... good old gas can't be controlled as easily from a centralized location the way these e-bikes can. But I DO want to see you build one of these!!!!

Problem always comes down to battery life , charge time , won’t be good enough for years to come yet . Awesome to see you on a track ppl don’t understand how much work it is to ride a track haha
Charge time is not an issue, you can get good ones to charge in under an hour it's that the companies aren't doing it

I wanted to convert my 2005 crf450r to electric (building it from frame up)
With at least 72v, 45ah and using molicels
Even got a heishman throttle(Alta bikes have them, ducati's) The best e-bike throttle!
It'll be silent with as much power as the gas version (45-50hp) but maybe 35-40miles of range.
gas is loud but I have a clear 3.2 gallon gas tank on the bike and that's 150 miles range (wanted to put the nacs plug in the gas cap and have leds in the tank for status) .
Cost differance is the cost of gas and maintance for 12,000 miles. It's basically the battery pack that the extra cost. I can build a mostly new engine for a controller and electric motor lol
It would be free to recharge at home for me so that's not a factor.
Batteries at the moment aren't the best in the freezing cold either.
I've chosen to go gas. Hoping in 5-10 years there's good batteries and I can sell the gas engine and do electric again. Prolly left hand rear brake still. Love that! Gonna figure something out

Plus the battery would never last for a full day of riding. It literally takes me a couple minutes to refuel and I go all day. Not into waiting an hour or more to recharge my battery before I can continue.

Just got your 6k watt surronster kit for my sx500 (ik this is irrelevant), and Id like to say im super excited... and you inspired me to upgrade my bikee.
Would love to see you get into electric mx bikes. You have a big electric following and electric mx bikes are finally back at the level alta was at. It seems like the natural progression of your riding skill and channel growth.
Wheelies are the first trick you learn to do on a bike but as you get a lil older its fun to move onto bigger bikes and other styles of riding. Obviously theyll still wheelie. Just something to consider unless your happy making videos for the 11-16 age group.

it will be interesting to see which way the electric dirtbike/small motorcycle builds will go, qs138 70 v3 style with the internal reduction or the 4 speed gear box route alot of the time et and others using now. Id like to try both as electric + gearbox will behave differently and in theory adds effiecny, planning to build a electric supermoto that can keep up with the 400s

I like electric vehicles. I've even built electric bikes for my wife and me, but I think market dynamics should determine whether gas or electric wins. There are far too many problems with electric vehicles to force that change.
I don't see a reason they compete against each other. They have a long way to go to compare to gas bike sales.
for me as a dude with a fucked attention span i dont need the longevity of a petrol bike as i dont tend to ride for more then 2 or so hours tops before im bored so electric makes more sense as my 72v battery costs me what would be like 2 dollars from empty vs like 5 to 6 worth of gas each time and i have a lot of old neighbours and a lady with stage 4 cancer so i dont wanna be that dude with the klx going nuts

I raced 250 and can tell you from a racing privateer perspective gas is dead. Cant afford replacing pistons every other race and gas. Having 45hp from 0 rpm out of turns and every race having no drop on HP means a good race bike. Plus, saving on all other engine and clutch maintenance. One thing is sure tho it won't be as fun as gas.
Gotta admit, it has great lines..... love the quiet power of these but just how long does it last before you must
plug it in? That's the deal, I don't mind pouring another gallon of gas in so I can play ALL DAY but these bikes
are limited by that battery.... that's the only part I don't care for.... thanks for the upload// peace

Bro, take some motocross riding lessons. Make it a series where you learn how to race on a motocross track. That way you learn to ride MX and then you can give more valuable information to your subscribers about the MX bike's performance on the track. It would be a sick series. I bet it will get lots of views. Colab with Buttery Films for lessons or something. They are in SoCal. I have been riding MX bikes since I was 5 years old but I know some guys in the late 20s that took lessons and now are racing Vet class and winning. Hope you consider it. Would bring your channel to a whole new audience. Love your videos, bro!

So the kit is $5k and a donor bike is $3-5k depending on if it runs etc. So you’re pushing $10k for a bike that’s technically used. You could get a good running gas YZ for way less or you could take that $10k and buy a new e-bike that was designed as such or a new YZ. It’s a cool concept but the cost makes it more of a novelty.
