This is pretty decent overall. I did a similar build but with a mid drive kit so I can go up hills (a mountain) without eventually burning up the hub motor and ride with even less parasitic drag. A hardtail so there would be space for a battery pack in the middle. Think that if you fall forward the family jewels could take a pretty rough hit maybe put a cushion on there if you actually are going to use it. Secondly depending on battery and where you are charging it can be nice to be able to detach the battery I charge mine in my fireplace because im a bit paranoid.

FYI, Pexmore, the brand of the motor they bought, makes a $500 e-bike on Amazon. They even make a 1500W bike for $620.

One thing I'd recommend on that is to put at least one torque arm on the front fork. That fork's kind of weak for that power of motor and that axle is likely to spin out of the dropouts. Also that fork wasn't designed to have a disk brake caliper attached to it so there's a good possibility that repeated use of the front brake will eventually bend or break the fork. There's at least 20+ e-bikes that can compete against the Hyper Scrambler.

I was just about to say the same. Without a torque arm the very torque of the motor can actually loosen your wheel nuts. I have two on my trike build.

I just scored a freebie Marin east peak FRS full suspension mountain bike with a really rusty chain, flat tires and bent drop off (derailluer), but Marin bikes have a special feature to protect the frame from bending when you wack the drop off-a kind of breakaway part or something. . . might just need to tighten a bolt. It's Ninties bike which seems like it has low miles. Unfortunately this model year does not have disc brakes. I am going to be watching a lot of these build videos, meanwhile I am going to buy a new chain, clean it up and ride it as a regular bike for a while.

Just so people are aware, ebikes are supposed to be speed capped so that may be why the homemade one was able to win.
Kinda sucks that they put a limiter in them :( but it's also understandable, because the range would probably suck if the speed was uncapped
Which is stupid when cars, which weigh 4 tons bare minimum, are able to go much faster.
Be very careful with using a front motor because the forks are not designed to have that extra stress on them. Next time, I recommend a rear-drive hub motor, or preferably, a mid drive motor so you can take advantage of your gearing as well. But overall, great job and welcome to the world of ebikes!

you put the battery on the top so it will handle terrible.
you put a great case around the battery and then put the controller on the bottom of the Bike in a random spot.
You actually even had to weld to put a brake caliper on the bike.

As a bike mechanic, I can tell you that this cheap bike isn't going to last, you'll end up paying much more in the future and it's not reliable.

I built a squad of ebikes (5) last year from trash picks, thrift stores and a 20yo mountain bike. For the price of one off the shelf we have one for each family member.

@@AnandaDaCosta the kits at the time 36v 26 inch just over $200 ebay/Amazon. The batteries are second life (from rental scooters) $100ish "shorty r5" with charger from jeg35. Mounted them on rear racks. They have rim brakes and bought the best pads I could find.

If you don't add more support to the front forks then you will eventually break the forks off from the torque caused by the 1000w electric motor. This video is 8 months old so if someone continued to ride this bike they found out the hard way.

The HS2 motor is only 1000w with 1800peak probably. I have the Hyperscorpion since 2020. Very similar in power but I recently ordered a Ristretto 512 A20, paid $2800 but it going for $3,395.75 with a 15% discount code. It goes 40mph. Mid-drive motor peaks at 4500w peak with 250N.m of torque. I've test ridden it once at their HQ in Austin, TX and recently at Electrify Expo in Austin the bike is a beast. I can't wait for them to start shipping which should be in end of December/early January.

You should have told people if they install front motor you need to have steel forks and torque arms otherwise the forks will snap and throw you off as it happened to me at 30mph luckily i was ok not hurt anything but learnt my lesson quickly was my 1st ebike but now i ALWAYS use back motor stay safe guys 👍👍

i thought it was gonna be some bad "ebike" like in other videos but it works really nice
And you didn't put a torque arm on the front forks. It wasn't exactly safe before you modded it, and now it has two guaranteed points of failure. The forks are going to get bent by the force of the motor, and the frame will be prone to collapsing in on itself without the top tube. The added weight isn't going to help either of those issues. But it did make a neat video.
i think it would be a really cool idea if you could find a way to turn the energy of the pedaling into energy for the battery

One thing im having trouble understanding is why link a Caomm battery, use a Unit Pack Power battery and say you used this QWW battery?
Argentina is a weird country. The bike you started with is considered a good bike and would have a minimum price of usd 200. The motor/controller/battery kit would be around usd 1300. There are however, already made ebikes for less than usd 2000.
impossible to buy something with usd 400 salaries tho.

you can buy a cheaper 12v 100ah battery and a 120v inverter the run the charger to the battery as you run..and double or triple your range. you have 4%or less loss
Make sure your health insurance is paid up. Between cutting out a support member and not putting a torque arm on the fork, it's a rolling accident. Either the frame will break or the motor will rip out of the fork mounts.
