Sabrina Peterson performing A Cricket Sang and Set the Sun by Blake Tyson. Huge thanks to Tyler Tolles for recording the video. Recorded in the FSU Percussion Studio in HD.
uhm lmao if your still wondering they look and sound kinda articulate but also warm i would try some mike baltars if you have a music story near you (one that has a good selection) but don’t cheap out on his budget line
Whoa. That was just amazing. I played this piece my junior year in high school as a competition piece, so I've looked all over the internet to see others play it. And I have to say, you're one of the best videos I've seen (other than Blake Tyson himself). Keep on rocking! (: [And what mallets are you using by the way???]
I think you played the G minor melody a little bit rushed. I should be a bit slower just like the F# minor part (6/8). The rest was excellent!!! Keep up the good work! (P.S. You didn't miss a SINGLE note! I take my hat off!)
I love you performace great job !
Great playing and cool shirt
What mallets were you using?
Amazing job, one of the best versions of this I've heard! Could I ask what kind of mallets you're using for this?

Does this piece strictly require a 5 octave marimba or can it be done with a 4.3?
Michael Lewis 4.3 works fine if you're still wondering

The song is just notes on a page. Every player interprets music differently. You make it your own.
I just noticed that at 2:20 originally starts from B and she played it from D. It's tricky, firstly I played it wrong too, but it's amazing!
