I’ve used that disc attachment on the bobcat a bunch with good success👍👍 The bog disc blades or notch blades some call them are good for cutting or rolling over wet dirt 👍👍
@@Dirtmonkey thanks for the videos y’all do a great job on the equipment reviews👍👍 and y’all are honest about it good luck to you guys this coming season hope it’s a great one stay safe👊
Stan, I'm so glad that you are doing this video series! I was contemplating the feasibility of opening a suburban tractor services business, and have often pondered whether it would be better to just work towards getting a skid-loader or similar instead of a small to mid sized utility tractor. The only issue is that there seemed to be fewer implements for those compared to those available for tractors... until CMP came along and designed the disk tiller for the skid-loader. Can't wait to see the next videos and what else CMP comes out with!
What a great channel. Super content. Great videography. Always interesting videos. Thank you sir for all you efforts in making videos for our enjoyment.
You make the vids Stan and I'll definitely watch them tonight lol..it's negative 24 at the moment..they say negative 30 is the low tonight..and no wind (thankfully)..not even attempting to start the tractor in the morning to plow..it's outdoors with the front tire off..brand new tire..used it 5 minutes and went flat...I repaired it..but think I'll wait till we get up to zero to put it back on and plow lol . Anyhow..great vid..stay warm
It does disc up the ground.. A good rigid disc will level the land out, the more its used, the way this floats, it just rides over all the humps. Also, the blades only cut when the Vs both point to the middle of the frame, the blades are cupped, so when the disc gangs are pointing forward and backward, the blades are backward, thats why it bogged down so much. For food plots and such smallish jobs and for a guy that already has the skidsteer, looks like a good deal. For my orchards, i use an old 12ft, drawbar pulled, massey ferguson transport disc, not only leaves the ground flat in the direction of travel, it also makes it flat from side to side. The depth of the leading gangs vs the rear gang, or the slant of the whole tool front to back, will change how flat the ground is from side to side as well, another reason the full float will not make the soil level. If the front is too deep, it will push the dirt to the sides and wallow out the center, if the rear is too deep, the dirt will be humped up in the center. I started pulling a 12ft john deere 620 disc at 10 years old, with a 2030 john deere tractor, just shy of 200 acres, every two weeks, all summer, im 35 now.
Why not I guess ? Great way to improve your Investment Efficiency. Cool Way to prevent the big investment, like a skid steer, of ever sitting not being utilized.
Stan, look into ABI TR3 & SR3 rakes. I would put my bet on the SR3 (skid steer model) to backfill & level for seeding. I have a TR3 Rake for my Kubota. I can rip down to 7", level rough or finish, backfill low areas, leave a possible yard area ready for seed & even rehabilitate & level a horse arena. SR3 is more commercial oriented but is close to TR3.
That type of disc your going to need speed to help break up the ground. So if there bored this winter and cmp, should challenge them to make a moldboard plow.
HAH!!! Stan, you crack me up. Love everything on your common-sense channel. This one should have been named "City boy learns to run a disc" Keep learning, teaching and not tolerating BS! Above all, keep and share your sense of humor!
Hey Stan love your videos just wanted to share when you asked Siri what the weather was, Siri on my phone paused your video and told me my local weather forecast!
I dont own a skidsteer .... yet. Been a dream but for those of you that do. What would the benefit be to running this on a skidsteer vs a tractor? I DO know tractors, and from what I can tell, are far more durable and cheaper to repair tha na skidsteer. Am I wrong? Just thinking why put a tiller on a skidsteer when you should be running it on a tractor?
I think it's more for the people with skidsteers who will need it for a few jobs but not worth getting a tractor. I can't see someone with both tractor and skid steer choosing the skidsteer route personally
Well, this will be very interesting 🤔. Best part is all that John Deere equipment. 😀 Will be fun to watch. This will be a great learning video. Thanks 😊.
Can’t afford anything much like that but I was able to get me a old ford 9 n that’s a 1939 model and idk if u know much about tractors but that was actually the 1st tractor to have the 3 point hitch on it and just a few days ago I was useing it to plow my road and drive way
@@Dirtmonkey tbh I love it , gotta give the old girl time when plowing with it like the lift up is very slow vs the newer stuff but it definitely gets the job done I have a 7 foot wide rear grader blade on it now for both grading the drive way and plowing snow works pretty well was pushing 7-10 inches of snow with it
Hi Stanley. I have an ASV RT-75 and I was wondering what you would recommend on how many pumps of grease to put in each zerk? I've been greasing until I see grease come out. Am I over greasing?
Hey Stan I hope that just come out better I take a tractor powerful one but your skid loader give me you're quicker 12 doing your stuff faster I appreciate all the videos thank you
@@Dirtmonkey To me it seems that deere has more power and lifting strength than other competitors, and it also has to do with how the dealership runs there service department. I also think deere have better fuel efficiency. Currently running all deere equipment.
Hi Stanley ! you got any snow down there yet ? I loved watching your snow videos last year. I checked and you don't have any snow vids posted at all this season. Just wondering ! anyway, keep warm !
Yo. They've had snow. I have family in the the Minneapolis suburbs. Might be a timing issue. I just looked. I found a couple that I watched a little while ago. Try this one... th-cam.com/video/rvHuxTd6OW0/w-d-xo.html
a skid steer vs a compact tractor, two different machines that can do mostly the same jobs, well, i guess it tends to be situation dependent on what is more handy
The downfall of a 3 point hitch on a tractor, I have a jd1025r, is that there's absolution no down force unless you use addition weight. Unlike a skid or front loader where you can put down force on.
I must be completely out of touch. Why would someone want this attachment? If they're putting in a food plot or something? Can't see using it for what we do. Ever.
The whole purpose of a disc is to create a smooth even planting bed.....that’s impossible when your running a 10000 skid loader through fresh tilled dirt. Your just making ruts
I’ve owned skid steer since 1989 and never did I think it had a place in plowing a field .Good job guys
Haha right! Fricken stoked 👊👊
Yeah but do a 1000 acres and I bet the tractor is the winner. It will wear the skid loader out way faster than the tractor.
It's amazing how many different attachments there is for a skid steer in the past 10 years. God bless you guys and as always be safe 👍
You got that right, never stops surprising me & I love it! God Bless 🙏
just when you think you've seen it all.... i like the idea of being able to do small food plots in tight areas!!!
Me too! Such a neat concept
Thank you Stan I am balancing the two different formats of tractor and skid steer so very timely. Aussie Jeff
Awesome new attachments. Have a great weekend.
Glad you think so too! & hope ya have a good one as well 👌
Been on a farm most of my life. Disks are meant for large areas of ground. Small areas are more efficiently worked by a rototiller.

You need to adjust your mirrors correctly if you feel the need to crank your head and look back when your pushing snow.

That skid loader probably has twice the power. That isn't a very equal comparison...
Compare machines of equal cost, or at least equal power.
Like to see comparing it to a tototiller.
What model john deere skidsteer with the discs.
You want the convex going forward.
I've never seen that attachment. Looks like you got it figured out. I enjoy your videos. You show something new.
