I enjoy both you and Dan. He brings a bit of satire to his channel to stand out, but at the core, he values classic fragrances and the artistry behind them. You two have more in common than most.
Gravitas it's a great scent. Easily a signature work scent for the classic vintage lovers. It screams quality and elegance. So, is a must buy. Yes, Mr. Smelly channel nowadays is a mess. The older publications are great and inspiring. But we should not " cancel" their creations just because the way Dan is doing his channel.
I won't mention names but there's a few YT channels I really enjoyed 5 years ago that have fallen prey to either clones and/or endless mindless top 10s where they just switch the order from the last video. There's a few that try to elevate the subject matter by having high-production shots of outdoor locations with their drone cameras, trying to juxtapose the fragrance with the location they're in - and to me it just doesn't quite work. Really I just want honest reviews on under-reviewed fragrances, and you provide that. Thank you.
I’ve only smelled this one from his line. It’s fine. Decent ingredients, good throwback scent. I’d say this would be a good buy at $80 fragrance that I wouldn’t reach for over Beau Du Jour (for a modern fougere) but wouldn’t hate it if given to me. I’d like to try his Chypre.

Gravitas is a very nice fragrance. The only real problem with it for me is that it becomes a skin scent very quality albeit fairly long lasting. You don’t get the wafts of it throughout the day. The only way to remind yourself that you sprayed it is to actually put a spritz on your wrist and occasionally check to see if it is still there. That is a shame.
Dan was really upset when i commented on his instagram account that Bon Viveur was an attempt of cloning Dior's Eau Sauvage Parfum (2013). About the Gravitas one, for a vintage lover is nothing we havent smelled before. Its a patchouli bomb, a bit too much for me to be honest.
Funny, I checked his channel out earlier today to see what he's up to, no need to re-subscribe let's just put it that way. I have a bottle of Gravitas, it's very good imho all around and it's the cardamom that makes it for me it's a great use of that note blended into that old school type foundation.
I would like to hear your take on Porthole by Loumari and if you like it. I bought a bottle and really like it and think it smells like a big fat juicy salted peach dripping in tangerine juice, which is different from the pineapple and other notes that are listed in Fragrantica. It reminds me of Creed Erolfa without really smelling like it but I get that same kind of vibe.
Dans always had a quirky sense of humor / personality… Always did some type of joke or skit in his early vids. But I agree…. He’s yucked it up to the extreme the last 1-2 years.

I like the fragrance too. In fact, with the recent massive increases in designer prices, the deals he had going on over the holidays were a bargain for this style of perfumery. I heard he's releasing another uber freshie soon, but I certainly hope the brand doesn't go the blue/woody amber fragrance route for the sake of increasing sales. Knowing a bit about Dan's tastes, I doubt that'll be the case. I like the popping bubbles description!

Gravitas is a very nice fragrance. The only real problem with it for me is that it becomes a skin scent very quality albeit fairly long lasting. You don’t get the wafts of it throughout the day.
