Most important thing is to make sure you always use a lawyer with any large financial transactions in Costa Rica. Always.

We were introduced to the lawyer by our realtor after we had an accepted offer on the condo. At that point, we were back stateside and finished the rest of the process from there. No, but it helps and the attempt goes a long way with Costa Ricans in general.
