I am honestly shocked by how close the prices were. However, I live in Santa Ana which is right next to Escazu. Perhaps the prices are just inflated here because there are lots of expats in the area. I primarily shop at Max x Menos. There is a Mega Super that is closer to me, but the variety is not the best and it is always pretty warm and not well lit. Additionally, the stuff I would want is basically the same price as the Mas x Menos, so I might as well go there for a nicer experience - even though the store is smaller. In my experience, it is never worth shopping at Automercado unless you are looking for something specific from the US and you don't mind paying for it. Otherwise, the prices are just too high. My best example of this is butter. The regular butter that they have here in CR doesn't taste like what you get in the states. For me it is fine for cooking, but if I just want butter straight up on a bagel, I don't prefer it. Another thing that we buy at Automercado is certain kinds of sliced cheese that we just can't find anywhere else. Other than that, we don't go to Automercado and really we are only going there if we are passing buy and then we stock up on butter and cheese. 😄

I recently bought dog food and toys for a kid who dog sits in our area, and knew of dogs in need.🤞🤞🤞

I helped a seeing impaired lady pick her dog up from the groomers so she didn’t have to taxi back and fourth !

Hi! I regularly volunteer at a local church. They run a food pantry every other Saturday to feed families in need in our immediate community.

I shoveled my neighbors sidewalk after the massive snowstorm we got here in denver

I helped our elderly neighbor shovel this sidewalk and walkway recently!

Always trying to reach out to people in need. Saturday, it was listening and helping a woman in financial difficulties.

I was able to just sit and listen to a patient and help her navigate talking to her Mother about several issues . She told me it is the best she has felt in years regarding her relationship with her Mother and after talking with me she realized she has value in this world. Just a daily reminder to be kind to others and show love.

Stay away from Costa Rica . It’s not worth the money. It’s the Monaco in Central America
