We all forget, women could not even vote early this century. Beating a woman up was normal all the way up to 1970s-80s. Women couldn't work between 1960s-70s. Women couldn't have careers even as as early as 1990s... and these days women do not get pay equal to their male counterparts (equivalent qualifications).

I have not idea what an antebellum party is. But the word antebellum simply describes anything that happened pre-war.
