      I really hate that about too many mainstream makeup brands now that used to do really cool products a decade or two ago. Now they're more prone to using the same products with differently themed plastic cases instead of actually having special themed products inside plain or themed packaging. Too dang many releases in a single year doesn't give them enough time to make the products as special anymore.

    these videos are always so validating bc i have the same gripes lmao. my coworker today was like "i got my nails done look they're CHROME" and i looked... it was sheer with iridescent topper....... similar to the "oyster" nails. I also have had OTHER coworkers exclaim they like my chrome nails when i have iridescent or magnetic cateye nails. I don't think anyone knows what chrome is anymore

    • @Limitedonathios

      As someone who fakes the chrome iridescent look with that exact look when I am too lazy to do chrome, under certain lights (indirect light in a shaded area - think of your living room with your sheer blinds shut) and from a distance, with the right topper, it can look like chrome. Salons and influencers are taking advantage of this lack of knowledge and telling people it is the chrome look

    Every year, as soon as Christmas is over, I like to paint my nails silver. Been doing that since high school, I'm the same age as you Simply, btw. Last year I got the HoloTaco silver and I wore it as usual, after Christmas, in the office. This GenZ and younger colleagues of mine, went mental around me :"D I knew nothing about being "in", but now everyone is always looking at my nails with this expectation of "what's on her nails this week?" It is very absurd to me.
    Well. Next week I'll be rocking Lavender Syrup HT, so they can lose their breaths :D

    I feel like the next big trend in nails (after discovering it myself) is going to be jelly nails. Think something like the Rose Garden gel nail polish set from Gaoy. I have the third to darkest shade on my soft gel tips and it looks amazing. I will be removing it today though as I'm getting a new set of gels delivered for the season.
    The reason why I think it's going to be big it's because it's an easy way to wear colour without being too punchy and intense. I had the second to darkest shade from the set I mentioned a maroon type red before the colour I have now. And it gave me sultry intense red but not too intense. It was nice and deep and classy. So I bet this is going to be big expecially among older women who want colour but not too much. Also I can say this as this is gel not regular nail polish but definitely check out the rose garden set. The shades are so stunning and classy and timeless.

    As someone who follows a lot of nail things, the trend that exploded is sheers. White sheers, pink sheers, sheers with an iridescent shine. Magnetic is also going extremely strong. Ombre/gradient are slowly disappearing in favor of creating iridescent or chrome shine on certain places on the nail. I agree that 3D art is having its moment, I have no idea how long that will last. And yes green is more popular in the last few years than it ever was before, which still isn't a lot since most used to hate green and now some people love it. Prints like animal or patterns and charms have always been for a very specific audience and I don't see that change

    Nail "trends" just seem like they should be synonymous with whatever goes viral and gets the most attention. Of course that usually means they are tending for about a week or two before the next big thing 😂 I don't really agree with articles pretending they can predict what's going to be hot the whole year. Just wear whatever looks good on you, or interests you, or makes your magpie instincts buzz, but make sure it makes YOU happy cause you'll have to look at your nails for a while 🤣

  • @overgrownkudzu
    @overgrownkudzu 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    i feel like apart from them not agreeing, a lot of these are either super basic to the point where they're barely even trends, or just whatever fashion trend but on nails. red nails are not a trend, nude nails are not a trend either, those are staples and people have been doing them forever, it's like saying jeans are trending. i mean, i guess so, but also when have they not been in some way.
    on the other hand bows/coquette/animal print is just mirroring current fashion trends that obviously also get expressed through nails by the people who wear those trends.

Break the mold every chance you get! You’ll never regret it ♥️💅🏻

  • @JBC352
    @JBC352 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    I love the nail oil pen! The brush is perfect -thick so great for when my nails are naked (insert classic simply joke here), and a sharp tip for when polished to get in the nail bed between my skin and manicure - and I personally find the thickness of the pen itself easier to use when my nails are long (the latter I know some people didn’t like as much). I’d been doing diy pens with simply’s recipe, and they’ve now all been replaced (after I finished with the oils ofc 😂) after trying HT’s pen when it came out. I got 3 more for work, home computer area, and my purse (the first one is at my nail art table).
    One pattern with the pen that I noticed and still struggle with is the amount per press - I find when the cartridge is fresh, I get enough to cover 2 nails per pump (I like em juicy 😂), but at the halfway mark, I have to press a couple times for the same coverage on one nail, and by the end, I can’t tell if any are coming out even though I see a decent chunk (~5th of the cartridge) remaining . Currently I remove the cartridge, then reconnect it to get some flow, and when that doesn’t work anymore, then I replace the cartridge.
    I’m keeping the old cartridges (currently have 3) until I have a few more, then am gonna open them up and combine them to make use of the remaining oil, but I say all this to ask 1. Am I the only one experiencing this? And/or 2. Is there something I could do to improve the experience?

    • @tabularasa
      @tabularasa 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'd reach out to HT support if I were you. They seem pretty responsive. Maybe they could replace it or give you some tips. I'm only on my second cartridge now, but I was able to completely drain the first one. One thing I have noticed is that when I pushed the button on the first cartridge, a big drop came out that I could spread around over all five nails on one hand, so I did one pump per hand per oiling session, and it was plenty to go around. Now after replacing the cartridge, the flow isn't the same as before. I have to push the button a few times to get the same amount as before. Not sure why the change. All in all I'm pleased with it, though. It has really kickstarted me to embrace proper nail care 😊 💅

    I'll repeat until Simply sees it 😊 You know what I would really like? A choice of bottle size. If for all the shades and toppers there could be the choice between the standard 12 ml bottle and a mini version with maybe 6 ml, that would be great for people like me who do not paint their nails that often and/or don't have so much space to store polishes in. 😂 Also it would be useful for those who are not sure if they like a certain shade but would like to try it. And for me who doesn't use so much it would be easier to use it up before it becomes so sticky that even nail polish thinner cannot save it any more. 😅 I think that many people would find the small bottle option useful and probably it could boost your sales 😊 also for the lesser bought shades (in order not to use the very subjective word "ugly"), some people would perhaps buy a small one to sample them. Also, you could do a give-away of a small sample bottle of the buyers choice (or of a shade you want to promote) for orders worth a certain amount (get the frosted metals out there!) 😎

    These lists just recycle and rename stuff. You have to have some goofy food/milk nails to distract from pink being on the list 25 years in a row.
