Yes my wife 200c the most up model had been a champ literally and it smokes BMW's challengers ricer sticks get spit on for the most part and two weeks ago a 2019 Toyota rav4 pulled out 15' infront of me on a 50mph road I had zero time had to hold my lane and smacked it at 50 it is totaled but damn it saved my life I had no idea that they had air bags in the pedal area at your feet that they are sitting on a Mercedes chassis and they are strong as fuck to take or give a hit only thing was I jacked my shoulder up bad cause I forgot to let go and relax but whatever I owe my life to that car and my wife and I just had our second babie girl not two weeks before that they get to see there father everyday because of the amazing build they did I don't give a shit what anyone says. And by the way I know in 2011 Mercedes bought dodge and I'm pretty sure they control all decisions Chrysler as well but maybe not at any rate look at there chassis that tells the entire story almost identical to a Mercedes one food for thought people. From someone still breathing because of theese so called falures😆 don't know SMH

Had a oil/coolant leak which ended up having to have the oil cooler housing replaced due to deteriorating orings. And my flex pipe just snapped but overall very good car. The zf transmission isnt the best they could have used but i havent had issues with it.... yet.

I once rented a Chrysler 300 well, my other car was in the shop and it had air-conditioned seats. I just got the car a couple of days ago and I see that there is either heated seats are air conditioned seats. There’s just pictures of waves coming out of the seat. Are my seats just heated or are they air conditioned? I live in Florida, so hopefully they’re air-conditioned.

I still own a 2013 after nine years. I have replaced brakes, throttle body assembly (and now the radio doesnt work), front driver wheel bearings, battery, and a radiator hose blew. After nine years I cant complain. The car has 170,000 km on it and I have used it for moving, driving off road through the farm, and all sorts of things. It is roomy, versatile, comfortable, and I like it.
It has handled well on icy, snow covered roads that I probably should not have been out driving on. Compared to a jeep for winter driving it is not as good, but it is decent for a car.
I would buy the FWD, 2016 C to replace it becuase I have the rims for snow tires, and compared to an Accord or a Camry it would be less expensive to purchase.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed the good information.

Some do and some don't. You may have gotten lucky. I've seen a lot of them with transmission issues, AC compressors locked up, electrical issues. All expensive things to have to deal with. One thing I will give them though is the fit and finish was a lot better because at that time Fiat started dumping massive amounts of money into them, just not in the right places. Funny enough, it seems most Chrysler/Dodge vehicles have issues with the transmissions, AC systems, and electronics. The only time I saw their cars be reliable was when they were using a lot of Mercedes based components like the 5 speed automatic and entire platforms like the 300, Charger, and Crossfire.

    • @Natethegreat200c
      @Natethegreat200c 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Enrique Ortiz Honda shares the same exact transmission and Toyota also is having transmission issues. the trans that FCA is having problems with isn’t a FCA build or designed transmission at all. Mercedes starved them and made the interiors and cars shit. They’re better off with fiat. Now as far as AC issues and electronics that’s true. But I’d take a chance on a chrysler before a Toyota or Honda. The product just isn’t good.

The car looked great. We bought it in 2016 with 40,000 miles and 1 owner. We returned it in 2018 because not even 5 months after the car would turn off by itself. Came to find out there was an oil leak but no oil was leaking. Brought it to the dealership and they didnt want to check it because it was fine. Then the dashboard and center console turned off meaning no music settings or AC in Florida. Ended putting more money on it than what we paid monthly on top of putting oil every 2 weeks because the oil would disappear. No bueno. Now we are in debt and with no car

I owned a 2015 200C, bought it brand new in December 2014 and put about 75k miles on it in almost 4 years. While not perfect, I thought the 200 was a great car and well executed in many ways. I loved the way it looked, the interior was very nice, the V6 had great power yet got great fuel economy on the highway, and the AWD option made it an excellent year round car. The car had a MAJOR powertrain flaw though - the transmission. That 9 speed was a terrible transmission, I never liked it. I was never a huge fan of the rotary gear selector but I overlooked it eventually. I think the known transmission issues these cars had ultimately led to their failure, along with the names Camry and Accord being engraved into people's brains. It's a shame because it was an opportunity for a turning point for the Chrysler brand and the company as a whole, but they still have some major reliability issues to work out on some of their models. I have to say though, I lost my 200 when it was totalled in an accident last November. It did everything it was supposed to do to protect me.

I bought the same year and make in Nov 2014 and am still driving it. Over 75K miles on it and the only issue I have with the transmission is in city driving where you can't accelerate rapidly so there is a knock in 5th gear. Great pick up speed and no transmission issues when accelerating on the highway.

I’ve had no real major problems until the 200k mile range. Overheating problem resulted in a new radiator, radiator housing and hoses, water pump, gasket, thermostat. Now the check engine light is on and it says it has a problem with the cam shaft / crank shaft/ timing chain. The car still runs good and strong.
I also have a 2015 Chrysler 200 C AWD. It’s a fast cad. No modifications. The only issue was overheating which resulted in a new radiator and new radiator hoses and clamps. Might need to change the thermostat since the temperature likes to crawl up to almost 3/4 in standstill traffic / freeway traffic. Other than that, it’s a smooth and fast ride. Going strong at 143k miles.

In my opinion FCA's biggest mistake about thinking a platform is more important than the design. The 2011 Chrysler 200 was an ugly duckling for my eyes. The 2014 model has a very European but appealing design - but FCA didn't even offer this car in Europe. The same about the Dodge Dart that looks more like a bigger Fiat model for that time. So of course the sales are not too high if they are trying to sell an European design made in the USA to North America. So on the other side the Dodge Avenger was sold in Europe but not with too many sales ... Different markets, different taste of cars. While the 2011 Chrysler 200 was sold in Europe (from 2012-2014 as Lancia Fluvia until FCA even decided to let the Lancia brand die - Lancia was also selling the Grand Voyager and the Chrysler 300C with a Lancia badge - but e.g. in Germany there were less Lancia dealerships than Chrylser/Jeep dealerships - of course this will result in low sales). Rebadging is not the solution to sell a car in another market better. The car must appeal to the customers eyes, being in good reliable quality and also you need to have a good dealership network. Only two years for this beautiful car ... that's a shame! I hope Fiat won't be the killer of these iconic American brands Dodge & Chrysler. It seems like they also can't bring something new. Without the Mercedes based muscles it's looking like re-badged Euro cars for the US market ... like the new Dodge Neon - it's only a re-badged Fiat Aegea from Turkey but also produced in Mexico. It will fail with the big sales in Northern America like it was about the Dart - they should have kept the Avenger in the USA and selling the Dart as Fiat in Europe but they did it just the opposite way.
PS: Blame my bad grammar on being from Germany :D

They always made bad decisions, they should let Chrysler sell cars in Europe and keep similar format like in the US as well as Dodge in Europe, revive Plymouth as well.
The same goes for GM with their market, only American company that worked was Ford and now Tesla has spread to Europe, honestly Chrysler and GM need new management team that know things and such instead of jumping on whats trending, similar to all those game companies jumping onto something that is popular like Battle Royales and such, so yeah

@@BFDdrives Yeah, they are mostly jumping on whats trendy, Chrysler and GM are like Activision and EA, so detatched from their fanbase and only make SUV's and crossovers because it is cheaply done and it is trendy instead of trying to make better looking cars, but once that trend dies they will be stuck with no option to revert back to what they do or go out of business, I think Chrysler should of stuck to what made them work with all the K-cars in the 80's because they seem to work instead of trying to go European ot Japanese because all of their customers are opting for them, they do not realize or see that why most of their customers going to them because they are cheap, reliable and run well as well as look very apealing then what Chrysler made, if they stop trying to compete with all the foreign compettitors and start focusing in making their vehicles better and appealling as well as more reliable they wouldn't be in the mess they are, also Ford will go all SUV and Crossovers now, seems like American car companies all lost touch of that they are or whats going to the point of cheaping out and going whats trendy, that what I think and I think they all need a bit of reality check and such, the same with the gaming industry as well, so yeah

I disagree. The 200 was a class leader in many aspects. Performance? You got a 295 hp Pentastar V6. People keep saying the base engine was severely underpowered, but it was just right for the segment. Style? Looked better than the Sonata, Accord, and Camry, in my opinion. Quality? The 200 is reliable (I personally own a 2016 200 and the 9 speed trans has never given me any issues over the 98,000 miles I've driven it) and had a class-leading interior. Chrysler did something very unusual for their history: They made a great car that was able to compete with class leaders. The 200 was a great car. It should have never been discontinued.

It would be cool if you did these videos on all cars and not just FCA products.

I have the 2007 Sebring 147k miles, my biggest issue was having the oil pan gasket changed. Other than that it’s been reliable. I also have the 2016 Chrysler 200 and what I do notice about both cars is they jerk when driving and the gears are switching I guess. Doesn’t happen every time but often enough to notice.

I have a 2015 200s with the V6 and AWD. I love it! Hasn’t given me any major issues. I’m at 90k now, hoping to get at least another 100k from it.

My S.O. got a used 2013 Chrysler 200 V6 about 5 years back. Before she bought it I wouldn't have given a Chrysler the time of day, but it's been surprisingly decent. I'd say its biggest issues are that the 6 speed automatic transmission has trouble finding gear sometimes (though it thankfully has a manual override) and the electronic throttle has terrible rubber banding. It certainly could've been a more powerful car if Chrysler got these things right.
Otherwise it has a decent quality interior, makes good enough power for fun highway pulls, has been surprisingly reliable, and is honestly a bit underrated (bordering on sleeper if someone could figure out how to tune that throttle response) in my opinion.

Chrysler seriously needs to expand more on it's models. Maybe bring back Plymouth and DeSoto and Eagle.

I really liked the 200, it was good in every way to me I picked up a used 2016 200s awd with low miles for dirt cheap and enjoyed it for the 3 years I had it and had zero problems, but I got out of it before anything could go wrong. Shane it didnt get a chance to go on cause I felt it could have succeeded and we probably would have seen a new version by now

I feel that youve made an acceptional and accurate assessment of the 200s demise. Its a shame, but i think the 9-speed transmission and class leading in the wrong areas things you mentioned in the video played the biggest role overall. Most people who purchase small/midsize cars i would think just want efficiency and convenient yet simple. I feel that the 200 was priced within reason of its competitors...

i really like the 200 BUT.. chrysler has a very bad reputation regarding reliability. and that was the only reason why i didn't buy one . too bad because every time i saw one on dealer lot . it attract me to look at it .. but no confidence
