I love using my instant pot max! I gave my instant pot duo to my granddaughter cause the max can do everything. Having the temperature read out on the screen is great!! My mother in law taught me to can 50 plus years ago but I have learned a lot over the years.
@@nessasnook I live alone so I don’t cook/bake like I did when I had a family to cook for. My granddaughter has a 2 year old and a 1 month old baby. Figured the instant pot would be a big help plus I bought her a crockpot. I use the crockpot, instant pot and the air fryer more than anything else. I have eggs in the air fryer at the moment for egg salad later.
@@sharonj7234 I have never tried to air fry eggs yet that works well. I know the IP helps with fast stuff and I am sure he appreciates that you gave it to her. My IP's have saved dinner many a times from not pre planning things!
My insta pot is an 8 quart, it says on one of the buttons pressure cook,, it does NOT say MAX, can I still use it for pressure canning pinto beans, and it did come with the metal liner , do I take it out? I’m so not sure.. I ordered it and when I got it on the box it said limited edition..
You can do it! I love canning my own beans vs store bought somehow I know they are the same beans but they are soo much better you will have to let me know when you get it done how did you like your beans. Thanks for stopping in :)
Fill the Instant Pot with 1-2 inches of water. This is an older video I am not sure exactly how much I had put in there but it was a min of 2 inches of water.

Depends on how much do you think you would can at a time IF you think you would want 2 stacks of pints you might want to get a 23 qt I love my 12 and 16 qt I want to get that 12 qt presto!
I thought the max could only do 4 pints at a time. Is yours larger? Is your trivet different than one included? This is in my list for this week!! So excited to can in my instant pot max!!
I think if I did it those were reg mouth and not as big I think the 4 is wide mouth. I soooooo want to get one of those 12 qt prestos! That way I can do small batch quarts too!
@@nessasnook me too! What jars do you usually use? Mason, Kerr, golden harvest, or other? I tried to get 5 of my regular mouth pints in and they wouldn’t fit. Also, if I don’t put the handles up I could almost fit 5 jars but not quite.

Its been a min and I dont can a bunch with that canner but I just did look it up and it says 3 inches. I am pretty sure that is what I had in there as I didnt show you all the water amount I hope this helps some.
@@Boogeyman1435 yea honestly since I dont use my presto a lot either I have to look it up each time before use and even my stove top ones and my steam canners. if I used them more it would be easier to remember for sure!
I have an 8 quart, it doesn’t say Max, but it has the pressure canning button on the front of it , it said on the box when it arrived that it was a limited edition, can I still pressure canning in it and what do I put in the bottom of it if I take the removable liner out? Please help I have no idea and really want to can pinto beans
I have never seen the 8 qt instant pot be able to can. Is it an instant pot brand? There is usually a like metal thing that keeps the jars off bottom and you would have to can per size of beans. Sorry I am not as big help. If you want to send me link I can see what you got
No mine is just the regular 6 qt I think it has something to do with the reg mouth jars I am using it would not work with large mouth! I do however want to get that 12 qt presto!

Gave my duo to grand daughter and got the max for small batch canning. Now I hear the max is no longer available. Love it.

How are you fitting 5 pints? My max only fits 4.😮

This was reg mouth it was tight but I did get them in there. 4 of the large mouth would not fit for sure!

I can’t turn my keep warm off and it work. It just shuts off. 😳
Is that normal Kathy? I would contact customer service to see if your machine is faulty mine goes to warm.
