Thank you for a great report. For some reason I like these “natural” trails more than the constructed ones of bike parks.

Yeah, me too I think. I do like getting to bike-park style trails though. Always good to vary the riding 👌

Such a great trail. A killer climb that seems to go on forever and delivers a trail that is so good in so many ways. Only done it once but up there with the best. Challenging enough to keep you honest, grip in buckets, punchy climbs, little jumps, great value in descending, scary in bits but all doable and leaves you with the feeling of a 'proper ride' that really puts the bike and the body through it's paces.
Pretty sure it's the kind of trail that offers masses in progression with each new ride.

There are so many other trails in the area that are unbelievable . The area is one of the best for mtb day outs , spent 3 days there last year, and just scratched the surface . Heartbreak Ridge is one of my all-time fave trails . Even better on an ebike 😂 there is a great shortcut to the top of heartbreak ridge !!

I did this last year and my derailleur fell apart as we started the ridge. Having lost bits, I had no option but to remove it and go single-speed not thinking that the suspension wouldn't work either 😩 A very tricky, single-speed, hardtail descent followed, definitely 'Heartbreak Ridge'!
Cracking footage, what a day you got 😃
It's going back on the list for rides to do again, hopefully without the mechanicals 🤞

That looked a wee bit past my skill level but might try the woodland section sometime. Was that on the Glen Tanar Estate. I grew up 12 miles East of there in Tarland but travel up there every month or so to visit elderly relatives and am looking to take my bike up when the weather gets a bit better. I am fairly new to serious trail riding after investing in a eMTB Haibike Nduro6 but have been around bikes all my life and will be sixty on Friday so my days of flying down mountain trails are past me. Really enjoyed the video and you really picked a day of glorious sunshine from memory it was always like that in summer when I was a boy.

Not sure if it's in the estate but it's certainly not far from Glen Tanar itself (I think). That's great you have the new bike to explore. I'm sure you'll surprise yourself with both what you and it can achieve. Hope you make it there 👍

@@streetpigeonmtb ooooh a bit salty there aren't you ? If it makes you feel better I am not constantly online like many ,which is why I failed to reply, maybe I jumped the gun when I accused you of of over selling heart break ridge as on reflection it was more your comments that over did the praise but i suppose peoples view of the merit of a trail is subjective and would depend on the types of trails and places and what type of riding you gravitate towards .hope that fulfills your question. I seemed to upset your quick to temper resident sycophant , I'd hate to see the reaction if I dared to criticise his bike choice , in the grand scheme of life me not agreeing on how great a trail is, is not worth sweating over and the outrage at said comment is more telling of sad times than me daring to have an opinion.
