This video will jokingly look at a series of stereotypical personalities loosely inspired by the real-life players of Don't Starve, including every character from Don't Starve, Don't Starve Together, Shipwrecked, and Hamlet.

Don’t Starve is a game infamous for it’s many diverse characters, each with a wholly distinct personality, backstory, looks - the works. And although there are many videos out there that analyse the characters themselves - there has yet to be one that analyses the flesh automatons piloting the virtual characters. uhm, sorry, I mean the people who play them.
This video will aim to jokingly piece together the psyche of every DS character’s player, as if every person who ever played each character was haphazardly lumped together into a grossly oversimplified hive mind. Obviously this video isn’t supposed to be serious, or even that realistic at all - these stereotypes are assembled with the intention of comedy, and to maybe poke a bit of fun towards Don’t Starve players. If you have any experiences or observations of your own of characters within the DS franchise that you would like to share, please do, as long as you remain tasteful and considerate. Without further ado, let us continue.

As a wendy main who has played with other wendy mains, none of us are chill. We are all bloodthirsty beasts awaiting our next victim. Bees? Extinct. Beefalo? Extinct. Nothing escapes our grasp. Either that or they're 10 years old lol

A pub session with woodie for me consists of:
- Disappear for 2 days.
- Return with enough wood to last us until spring
- Disappear for another 2 days
- Return with minerals and rocks
- Realize there's no consistent farm because everyone was relying on the wormword that left before he could finish setting up
- We are already out of rocks
- Despair
This sure sounds like that one Woodie that joined when I left the server public accidentally. Chopped every tree on the Constant down and couldnt get a treeguard to spawn

As a Woodie main, constantly disappearing for 2 days straight to get resources is pretty accurate, often times I'll be gathering an excessive amount of berry bushes and manure, pig skin and meat, or growing twigs to bring home and sort of help going unnoticed.

For Webber, I think that he is a very popular character among newer players because when a new player boots up the game and gets to the character select screen, among the relatively "normal" looking human characters, they see an anthropomorphic spider and think: "that's wacky! I wanna try that!" Also, let alone the fact that most new players won't have Wortox, Wurt, or Wormwood unlocked from the start, making Webber the only "wacky" character of the starting bunch.

I am not furry or have weird lnterest but Webber was the first and my main since day 1, I decided him because he was cool and the first time I examined things as him, really got me his personality, and I’m not a beginner, I mean 468,7 hours, but I don’t know it’s just incredible and No I am not furry

As a Wes main I can confirm that I am a borderline cryptid when in multiplayer. I kill not just because I have insatiable bloodlust but because I need food to fill this mime's seemingly bottomless stomach, and my only other option would be to eat my fellow players out of house and home. I'm convinced you have to be somewhat deranged to be a proper Wes main.
As another fellow Wes main I have to say this is pretty spot on lol. Except I tend to also make balloons everywhere and feel bad when people accidently die from them 😂
The Wanda mains I've met are just like her, anxious and forgetful. They rush ruins and bosses (most likely dying), until they arrive at the late game, where her teleporting capabilities are wasted since they forget to bring an important item, such as the key to the atrium gate, a no-eyed deer horn to Klaus, etc. Don't even get me started on their inventory management

Join a random server
Ask/find where the base is
Take control of their farm (if they have any)
Grow enough giants to build a rick astley statue
Leave the server
Repeat the previous steps
Or alternatively, Making their own farm.
Now do a 9 part series on wardrobe cosmetic stereotypes

As a server host, I gotta say there’s a other stereotype for Wendy, that being the players have this bizarre mindset that they just can’t die. “Let me and Abigail handle it” they say as they charge the day 100 hound wave by themselves and die.
But yeah, that’s a stereotype, I know a good amount of Wendy mains aren’t that way so no need to pull out the pitchforks

Looking at the comments, no one mentions “As a Winona Main”. It really shows that Winona mains are a “functionally extinct species”.
So as a Winona main, Winona sadly gets a lot of negativity from people. I remember there were these people who said they didn’t like Winona because of her hunger penalty to crafting, it’s “too harsh and you get penalized for playing normally”. Heck, one of them forgot they toned it down one update later into her rework, and then mistook it as loses hunger faster from crafting. One person even told me to never bother playing as Winona.
I just got kicked out from a server for playing as wes, dissapearing in caves and go to the surface on day 100 still alive.
I like Winona, but she is not my main because I am simply a coward.
She's literally Engineer gaming.

Winona is a really underrated character, as a main of engi, many people doesn't know the full potential of her, and don't even bother to play with her, just because the catapults are "expensive", as someone who has done FW on the first winter with friends, Winona is a rampage vs the skeleton boi, wooven shadows are not an annoying thing anymore, and helps alot with the dmg, and well, in long term words, if you know how to place statues you can make: houndproof setups, spider and varg farms. You can make setups for bq and dfly, and even farms for the shadow pieces to kill as much knights as you want, and going again to the point of the cats being "expensive", rocks are extremely easy to farm, you have the mosaic, rocky biomes, oasis and dfly desert, stone fruit, the stalagmite in the caves and petrified forests, but yeah, she's just a character that you take, make the things she's good for and then swap to, idk, Wolfgang, Wanda or WX.

As a Walter main(sort of) there are mainly 2 reasons why i play as him:
1. I like his sanity mechanic.
2. I adore that boy.
I'm newbie and testing characters, but Walter is decent character. Additional inventory slots with dog, you can shoot while riding on dog, gold pellets are fine starter ammo (gold is easy to find) + his shots will slowdown/push some enemies. They will never hit, so the armor is not even required. I met my first Deeclops recently and kited him without a single damage received. You can also hunt creatures that will escape from melee characters fast, like birds, rabbits etc. Decent character overall.
He's so cute I sacrificed my life to the moon gods for him
I mostly play him just for that free immortal Beefalo you can unlock with only three monster meat.

I never see Wilson, like never, and when I do; they never talk, ask where my base is, or die to darkness while joining in dusk
for me, the wilsons i've found are kinda the midgame guys, that have experience on the game and will support a base but unaware of some of the "lategame" stuff like moon island or ruins

I play Wilson a large amount of the time, as I don't wanna play as someone with downsides, upsides, etc, and spend most time alone. I could probably get a light source before night if its the start of dusk if its Autumn.

I played a server where our Wigfried was super in character, talking about how she will go out and slay the foul winter beasts for our sustenance. I should have appreciated her more because the rest of us were just screaming on a freezing boat like a pack of fools.

As a another wormwood main i hate wigfrid mains,just like other %70 of the community.Because they are type of players that started to game with wigfrid,didn changed to anytging else at all,only pressing f to do something in game,then they come and start to judge the people who actually knows something while they dont know anything about game but just wigfrid

You forgot the webber stereotype of amassing a warhammer level of armies over the entire first autumn only to then be able to use the said army whenever they felt like it to kill any boss they want while turning the entire map into the state of a constant warzone
I made private world where me and my brother and play together. I play as Webber/wurt while my brother plays as any human characters and we just wage war before Webber’s rework it was basically rigged if I picked Webber because I was unable to get spiders from the cave alive
And they look adorable when they sleep, warming my eight eyes 👀 😊
The intro is so true, Wilson players are unpredictable as hell, it might have disappeared and be noobing around or it might be killing ancient guardian right as we speak.
Playing a non-overpowered character in order to limit your power is the biggest flex ever.
As a Maxwell player, I can say it's true, I too use this game as a form of escapism, and the reason for Maxwell is because that sense of control that one profoundly miss in real life is relieved for having mindless puppets do your job (even tho they keep mining my decorative marble trees) and the false sense of accomplishment from surviving with a low health pool, but at the end of the day, we can be kings, but we are just another piece of the board.
Also, every main Maxwell I see waits anxious for their rework, even tho he probably will be the last one

Don't get me wrong, I love not worrying about my sanity and that I don't have to carry a pickaxe or axe around and that I can farm wood, rocks and shadow creatures all at the same time but there is a lot of end game loot and feature that dose nothing for him.
@@Mr_Vol yeah, like the new enlightened crown, I love the new boss but the crown goes off Everytime I use a shadow puppet so it has limited use for Maxwell, and also Id like that the shadow duelist were a viable option to use
nailed it with Wigfrid, I do in fact willingly run into worse case scenarios and back with the only consequences stemming from not bringing enough helmets
exactly, me taking a half durability helmet and no healing to the ruins, saying i'll heal from combat and ending up fully insane and starving before i even get there
one time i legit yelled "i don't need to be careful, i'm the almighty wigfrid!" and instantly got killed because i didn't bring enough helmets, that happened twice
as a wilson main, i also find that a good chunk of us are chaotic comical occasionally gentleman-like bastards
i once started a science cult full of wilsons (which died because i didnt amass enough wilsons) and we were ALL exactly this. especially the one guy.

As someone who used to be a new DST player I know why most newer players choose Webber as their main;
Because monsters are cooler than humans and are too new to have enough spools or just not being into the game enough to buy it
As a Wigfrid main, I started playing her because I was overly cautious in the game and wanted to be able to fight things without overthinking it. I think I'm in the sweet spot between that and recklessness right now, but eventually I'll probably become yet another Wigfrid stereotype

I was a wigfrid stereotype the whole time but only recently realized she's my main. 😂 Previously I just played a lot of Wendy or Wortox.
I got good at the game once I started playing wigfrid. She forces you not to be afraid of the world, and once you learn that you can go back and play the other characters a lot better.

as a walter main who associates with other walter mains tbh all of that was correct except yall missed the part where the reason we even started playing walter in the first place is just cause he's absolutely adorable and we love the character. ive never met another walter main who doesnt have a strangely large amount of knowledge on walter's lore specifically. like, did you know walter's mom collects niche lamps??
I am a wilson main and i look down on walter players especially unskinned walters if i look at them i get into a whole fight with them filling their dogs with manure trolling them
my favorite thing about wilson players is how often i encounter ones that have no clue what other characters do XD like they know everything about the game, mastered combat and survival but then get confused when i tell them i cant heal as wanda
For Warly : knows the entire cookbook, roleplays as Gordon Ramsay, farms 24/7.
For wigfrid : uses all the resources available in the base to make an insane amount of spears and helemts.
For wanda: makes jokes about time like it s rewind time, time goes poof, etc.
I think a lot of people gravitated towards Webber when they first started playing was because he stands out. All the other non-DLC characters look rather human, with the exception of WX. The part where Webber gains more attention though is probably how the entirety of him is covered in black fur, which compared to everybody else that is either a dullish orange or some pale skin tones, really stands out.
Another thing is some people prefer non-human characters. Not all are furries, Im sure some just dont like humans or something idk, but that compared with his pitch black fur lures people in.
I still main Webber because of his personality and how stupidly easy it is to get infinite meatballs for the gang.
Humans are kinda like a default race for big brain beings, so i think that's contributing too

It’s kind of surreal seeing how big the Dont Starve fanbase is compared to how it was when it all started. It gives me so much nostalgia that I just play as Wilson lmao xdxd I learned everything with him, so I’m used to it.
As a Wilson main I actually tend to be the opposite with the beard hair. I have had players shake me down for my beard hair especially around winter's feast. I cannot tell you how many times I have been handed a razor and demanded to shave.
I also generally play with two Wortox mains and they do indeed choose to be chaotically mischievous. Tho I have been told by them that I am the dark one.
It's not completely my fault I seemed to have formed an alliance with the Terrorbeaks who actively prey upon one of the Wortox players.

Actually, as someone who's played on a lot of pubs I've found that Wormwood's have the same issue Webber's do, in that they are almost always total newbies playing a challenge character for some reason. Wormwoods specifically are too scared of death to try combat, and will do silly things from tilling the ground before planting because "it makes the crops grow big" to not picking any of their crops because they're "waiting for the crops to grow big." If anything I'd trust my local Wurt or Warly to know how to farm with the new plots way more than I would a Wormwood XD
Oh, and Wendy's are either complete newbies also OR are battle-hardened wise souls with more than 1000 hours, a butterfly farm at base they'll afk at, 90 monster meat in the fridge, and honey coming out of their ears. There is no in-between.

As someone who has mained wendy since the first time I played her, I can tell you from personal experience that both of these stereotypes are absolutely correct. When I started I was obviously a newbie, but once I got good at the game I stuck with her because I like her.
Also I like being the funny "oh look it's a girl with a negative damage modifie but she's kiting like every boss ever"

I can't spend money on NFTs, all of my money goes into seasonings that ruin the food, but will hopefully buff peoples attributes. Spicy jelly makes people strong in game, so why does it only make my friends gag and throw up?

As a Webber main, you're completely right. I'm not new to the game, but when I was, I picked Webber because of his cool character design. Since then, I've never let go of them. Not that I actually know how to properly use the character, but because they look cool lol
Willow players tend to be very fashion oriented tbh. Whenever I play myself as Willow and or see others - they always try to dress up SMASHING. Since Willow likes clothes that much from the Clothe Tab it does kinda reflect on how that goes. Otherwise they become Nightmare Fuel farms.

I literally bought 4 outfits with real life money lol. Willows outfits are so nice and she looks so cute. I also just eat glommer goop for health and big Bernie lol. I’ve never even seen a Willow a grief. I’ve seen a Walter grief then blame it on me though (the Walter was banned)
My friend mains Willow and it's her goal to look as ridiculous as possible, which is a form of fashion in its own right I think. She only burned our base down once, by accident of course.
My Willow has the survivor outfit. All dungy and dusty and I look like I crawled outta a ditch surviving on worms and puddle water.
I’d say there’s actually 3 types of Wilson players. The Absolute Noob, The Chad (mentioned in the video), and finally The Funny Science Man.
The Absolute Noob: This Wilson player has just started their adventures in the constant, having absolutely no clue what’s going on or how to survive. They do try their very best and give it their all, but they inevitably die to something they were unfamiliar with.

The Funny Science Man: These Wilson players are a rare find. They play Wilson because they love and relate to him as a character, and will go so far to claim that they are the “Physical Embodiment of Wilson” and will change their profile pictures and names to reflect that. They are either trying out strange, unheard of strategies (that can only end in failure) purely for the sake of “SCIENCE” and to test out their theories on the game, or restarting autumn for the millionth time because they didn’t feel completely satisfied with their progress and winter preparation. They have written out multiple algebraic formulas in an effort to appear smart, and to optimise their time and crockpot efficiency.

I’d add that some wormwood players will have a surprisingly good knack for pvp, Wheeler characters are always running on around 2-3 shots of caffeine, Wanda players are nervous wrecks, and Webber players are gullible but in a cute way.

As someone who's only very recently started playing DST, I feel like I can more or less see why newcomers gravitate towards Webber, or at least give a few reasons as to why, such as:
- Webber's max HP and Hunger being a bit higher than most, "Oh, if I take this guy I'll live through stuff a bit more easily!"
- Webber starting with stuff in hand, "Not sure how to use this, but it must be helpful if he's got it from the start."
- Webber's appearance and personality, both for the fact that he's a pretty noticeable weirdo out of the non-DLC cast and the fact that he's frankly adorable and seems like a sweet kid.
Definitely not true for probably most, but that's just what I think.
Edit: Forgot to say it, but there's also the whole "lack of experience"-thing, where they don't realize how bad Webber's downsides actually are or don't realize that they even exist at first.

The reason why a lot of new players gravitate towards Webber, I'd say, is because he looks the edgiest out of the entire cast by default. He's the only monster that can be labelled as "creepy", so that attracts the crowd that likes edgy/creepy/monstrous/abnormal characters. Some people just like being scary monsters instead of boring humans, myself included.
As for the furries, lord help me.

I think you're pretty spot on with Webber. When I first started playing the game I gravitated towards him (although I did play him a lot in solo Don't Starve as well so I dunno if it counts) because I really love his gameplay mechanic and the spiders in DS look adorable.
One of my friends mains Wendy and is just a ball of chaos that always asks either one of us to go along to help take down a beehive, hunt down tracks or just kill /anything/.
And my other pal is a pretty silent WX/Woody main that always ends up dying first despite being the most careful and calculated out of all of us.
I’m a Webber main and I’m definitely not new to the game, I just find his gameplay loop a lot more fun than other characters. And he’s really good for fighting bosses if you have the spiders for it

Haven’t yet played Dont Starve, but the described stereotype of Wilson is exactly me as well.
As a person who likes to try something new every day. I was playing as Webber, I set up some spider nests and a friend (who was a Wendy main) asked to join, I let them in and said they could do whatever they wanted. I ended up with 0 spiders, a mad Webber, and a happy Wendy. With her meatballs.
As a wirkerbottom Main I agree with the fact that I spend a lot of time at the base, but I mainly dedicate myself to mapping the map, gathering large amounts of resources like light bulbs and for some reason I always end up teaching things about lore or gampley to less experienced players in the game.

You’re kinda like Wickerbottom herself a teacher of sorts or maybe a mentor who’s always getting stuff to “study for later”.
English is good... I am also a Wickerbottom main. I like exploring the map and gathering resources but you will never catch me speed running the boss monsters. I enjoy watching my enemies fight amongst themselves and will try to set that up so I can get their drops without taking damage.
As a Wilson main, outside of lore, I can promise I know nothing and I am not good at the game

Dont really know what the wendy thing was. But yeah, i rely a lot on Abigail. I like not having to deal with swarms of enemies. Specially since I play a lot of shipwrecked and she helps me dealing with mosquitoes and poison snakes
Alternative note: if a woody player finds a wigfrid expect the woody to turn moose on every boss fight it finds.
I do have a few minor foibles.
Wilson: In addition to what you've said, I've also encountered the exact opposite. People who have literally never played the game before, and die on the first night.
Willow: They get blamed for everything. The character's personality is supposed to be crazy and violent, so people assume that's how she's supposed to be played, but most actual people I've seen play her are generally helpful and benign, if a tad short lived due to nightmare fuel greed.
Wendy: I don't know about her, but Abigail mains are vicious. They stay agitated all the time, just to murder every single innocent butterfly.
Wanda: I've never actually encountered one, but the Second Chance Watch just has too much trolling potential.
Our usual dst group is a Wilson that thinks he’s a viking and is obsess with the moon, a Winona who is scared we’re gonna run out of rocks for catapults and must have an organized chaos at base, and me, the Willow who make sure EVERYTHING is symmetrical and who forgets to eat because I was doing five things at once :) it’s a lot of fun!

I also always ask my friends if they are hungry beause they never really focus on their starving so yes, I take care of other players. But at the same time... I'm kind of attached to that character :')

Webber was literally the first character I played when I got DST. I don't know why, but I figured the tradeoff of pigs for being able to hang with some spiders would be useful or something. Highly accurate.
As a Wendy Main the glass cutter is probably the best tool to use on yourself.

I'm a Wilson main and you pretty much hit the nail on the head aside from the fresh meat.
Every Wilson player I run into has no cosmetics that are worth a damn and die within the first night of them being there. I think it's adorable.
As a wendy main I make tons of food and put it in the fridge before leaving for my explorations and or journeys gotta make sure the new players are fed and sane

Wheeler mains evolve throughout time.
At first, unlocking Wheeler seems earned. It's the last character in the EXP wheel and whether you farmed it by using Woody and Lucy to spam werebeaver transformations and let spiders nibble at your fur until you pass out for 70 days, or actually played normally, it still feels like a big accomplishment. By that far in the solo game, you either-
A. Used the wiki tons and know a lot of DST information that doesn't apply to the game. Your favorite characters are Woody, Wolfgang, and Wigfrid due to their popularity in the community and general ability to rip and tear through anything with little to no thought. Woody has one of the most vital tools ingame, an axe, and it has infinite uses. His werebeaver form can tear down houses, rocks, trees, you name it, he can break it. Wolfgang can easily rush... anything. Give him proper gear and a fighting spirit, and boom, they fall like dominoes. Wigfrid is about the same, except she requires less food, and more resources to spamcraft helmets until her inventory (backpack too, unless it's a log suit, which is a surefire sign of a bad Wigfrid and overall bad combatant) is full of them.
B. Saw the solo game was on sale, fell in love with Reign of Giants and decided to buy all the DLC, unlock all the characters and create a megabase. You most likely main WX-78, Webber, or Wilba in Hamlet, because they're great for creating large safe spaces to house your farms. Wilba gets it easy, her safe space is a whole ass biome. WX-78 mains usually abuse the world generation options and create worlds full of pigs and clockworks. The pigs kill the clockworks. WX-78 grabs the gears. WX-78 kills the pigs. WX-78 destroys their houses. As he gets stronger, he can take on bishops solo with only a spear and a straw hat. They survive until Spring. Webbers usually spend the first few seasons creating a spider megabase. If they can actually survive, props to them. They just have to slowly upgrade their dens.
C. Do not deviate from Wilson, Wickerbottom, or Wendy. This is because you know the characters well and do not want to deal with alternate stats, abilities, or simply believe that other complex characters simply don't require skill. You might try other characters that I haven't listed here (Warly, Walani) just to learn their mechanics and see their exclusive items. In the end, one of the three I've listed is your go to, and you are the best with that character. Wilsons usually play this way because they know the amount of damage they can deal/take like they know the back of their hand. Wickerbottoms have gotten used to the added knowledge and do not want to have to craft alchemy engines. Wendys are just... heartless beasts. They set up a spider farm. They fence it in. They send Abi after it. The spider farm goes away. Repeat until Maxwell is unlocked.
Wheeler is a very exciting character for all of these people. People (flesh automatons) who chose A might choose Wheeler to test out her amazing combat skills. A bit aspect of Wheeler is being able to solve almost every problem with her trusty-dusty handy-dandy Pew-Matic Horn. This is where B comes out of their gear farm to play with her as well. Whoops, you spent two days farming for crockpots because you're absolutely insane. After gathering all the resources, calculating how much material you need (because of your limited storage) you're starving to death. What could be the solution?
Birds.
All it takes it eight items. Sticks. Grass. It's simple as that. The stackability of items usually determines it's damage. If the item can be stacked to forty, it will deal less damage than an item that can be stacked up to twenty. Grass to logs. Of course, this is what all Wheeler mains must carry with them. Seemingly useless items that can be turned into ammo. Not only does it save storage space, but gets rid of items that you despise (nitre, feathers) and turns them into morsels!
But, Seven! My sticks turned the bird into a red feather!
Well, Wheeler can fit almost any item (that I know of) into her Horn. They can be fired as well, and it's extraordinarily hard to miss. This is a surefire way to guarantee meat if you're patient enough to bait some birds with seeds, which you're hopefully not eating to stave off hunger for another half second. Force eight morsels into your two crockpots, which I hope you crafted while you were waiting for birds, and viola. You live another day.
Now, what about C? C usually backs off from Wheeler. It's an extreme glass cannon, emphasis on cannon. In the Don't Starve universe, a football helmet is what saves anyone from getting ripped in half by a bear-badger fusion with murderous intent. I will admit. Wheeler has downsides that prevent people from playing normally. At least Walter mains have a choice, they can deviate a little from the life of a quick-on-her-feet always-moving explorer. But Wheelers either play this for two reasons.
Chaos (The Bad Ending)
Wheeler is very fun. Moving at breakneck speeds and defying death is appealing in a world where death lurks around every corner makes you almost feel like you're cheating. Don't Starve isn't known for being a glitch free game, and Wheeler sometimes pushes it to the limit. Dodging was one of the biggest reasons I chose Wheeler, and seeing it being removed in DST and slapping a budget-horn onto a little boy scout called Walter seems a little betraying. But he does make up for it. And the removal did feel necessary. It would be hell to go against a Wheeler in a PvP server. Imagine trying to land the killing blow and Wheeler just teleports out of the way, dodging continually until they disappear off the screen, coming back a few minutes later with a pan flute, hambat, backpack and football helmet, chasing you down with their no-drawbacks speed boost that they receive from having an inventory empty and a backpack full.
Challenge (The Good Ending)
Wheeler's different way to play is what makes her hard. Getting used to dodging frames and the small inventory, low health, slow fire rate, and bugginess is all apart of the experience. Get comfy pal, cause she's not gonna change for a while. In the end, Maybelle Dorothea Wheeler is just another starving, insane survivor in the Constant that will eventually succumb to their own oversights. I usually die as Wheeler in Reign of Giants (insanity, too many entities interrupts Wheeler's dodge), Shipwrecked (overconfidence, my boat lost too much durability during a seahound wave) or Hamlet (stupidity, those damn gas clouds) for different reasons.
Let this be a warning to you if Wheeler gets added.
Don't let her get any ammo. No shots in. Trap her in. She can't dodge through hurtboxes. Kill her. Take her horn. Profit.
I’ve been a Wigfrid main since before the multiplayer version came out, and your description is pretty much on the money, but the funny thing is that I specifically started playing her because I usually suck at combat in most video games, and her perks allowed me to get out of my comfort zone. I’m still really avoidant of combat in pretty much every other game, but as soon as I start playing as Wigfrid the power immediately goes to my head.

A few Webber sub-species and how to combat them based on skin choice I've noticed as an avid Webber main:
-No Skin: Like Freddo said, people who really don't have a good idea but gravitate to Webber for some reason. After a while, they'll start to learn about the game and probably switch off Webber. There's no need to combat this player, so leave them alone or give them advice.
-Guest of Honor and Triumphant: These are basically a bit smarter no skins with a larger vocabulary (trust me, this is important). They have a good grip on Webber and can play him and other characters well, but they way overestimate their skill and try to flex on people by using so many words so no one can understand their """argument""" against the guy. The best way to combat these guys is to say nothing and ignore them. This will make them cry.
-Farmspider: The other stereotype Freddo covered. They will normally leave you alone when you refuse to enter their furry paradise server and ragequit within the process.
-Gladiator and Rebel: This people are actually really good at the game, but outright refuse to use any of Webber's abilities and rush the ruins as a weaker Wilson. The way to combat these buggers are to say to them "If you're so good at Dst, then why aren't you good at getting any b*****s?" This will send them into a spiraling pit of despair, making them go afk to contemplate their life choices.
-Magmatic: These people don't exist, moving on.
-Roseate, Verdant, and Survivor: These guys love to amass an army of spider to go fight whatever boss they want, becoming a budget slasher 341. It is a 100% chance that showing them a picture of Deerclops will kill them on the spot. Alternatively, kill the Bee Queen in their world and watch them suffer.
-Snowfallen and Victorian: These are the people that unironically use "uwu" or "owo" or all the heart emojis in their messages and profile pictures. They often amass an army of simp legions, negating their use of spiders. The best way to combat them is to cut the lines for her twitch streams, instantly killing their followers since they use it as their lifeblood and an alternative to an IV. Then, fight the Webber head on.
-Webilisk Head: These guys are often found running underground as soon as they can to collect every single spitter they can find (this is me) . They don't actually ruins rush, just amass an entire armada of spiders. The only way to stop these crazies is to destroy all spider dens near the cave entrance. This will send them into a frantic craze, ending in a heart attack for them.

As a webber main i can say that webber has good defense from the start so you don't need to care about pigs. 3 black spiders are enought to kill a pig, and you can upgrade nest to level 3, place decorating set and get a really good defense + infinite sleep. By the way, there are also many other spiders and cookies you can use to turn normal ones into them so i think he is the most interesting char in the game(imo)

As a wormwood main I am mama. I keep my kids fed, I build my plant orphanage, and then I sit at the base organizing chests till someone comes home hurt. Then mama wormwood makes the pain go away with Honey Ham.
I think newbies pick webber partially because of the interesting character design, but also because they're often scared of combat and die easily. having spiders, one of the most common mobs not be hostile toward the player and even allied is a huge relief to a newbie. also eating monster meat and easy silk access via beard makes webber an easy choice for a new player. I say this completely from personal experience

Alot of people think it's maybe May, Mary or something similar but it's too scratched out. Until Klei drops more lore, then we can piece more stuff.

It could be Winnie, after the scraped character that's in the game that looks similar to Wigfrid. It could be Rathgrithr/Wathgrithr. The name that's used to spawn Wigfrid in the game. So people speculate that, but there is no hard proof one way or the other. The only thing that is certain is the newspaper that Klei released with a name scratched out.... And that's about it... At least officially.

My new-player-webber theory: Webber is different and unique as the first available non-human - I can't think of any other game that has a spider boy - and he *seems* useful on paper to a new player who still thinks spiders are the scariest thing in the game. they don't know the game's mechanics and interactions with other characters enough yet to understand the others' perks. spiders are scary and difficult when you've only just started playing so immunity to them feels like a good and helpful thing, and most new players dont know about pigs at all... I have a lot of friends I've introduced to DST after they've played DS singleplayer for months, and I introduce them to pigs and how to befriend them for the FIRST TIME.
Also, interestingly, the kind of person who plays Wilson singleplayer and Wilson multiplayer are the same kind of person...but the kind of person who plays Wes singleplayer and Wes multiplayer are very different people.

I honestly really like your takes on the characters' personalities, I feel like that's something not a lot of Don't Starve players care to analyze (which is understandable, considering the lore is not explicit in-game and not everyone is interested in reading the examination quotes :P). Anyway, loved the video!
The rest of those videos are at least partially in-progress, hopefully most of them will get finished at some point.
