Not trying to beef with you or anything but I think you look into the F&F movies too much. None of them are "Good" movies, they are made to be fun action movies and they 100% deliver on that. People dont go to see these movies for the plot, they go to see them to see amazing action, and a star-studded cast who have great chemistry together go on adventures and crack jokes.
It was a fun movie. I think this franchise is genuinely beyond critic proof. I don't even know if you can analyze these films critically without setting your lifespan back a few years.
Fast X is no where near F9, F9 was just bad and not entertaining, Fast X was so much better in every way, it was also better than The Fate of the Furious.
Fast 7 is the true franchise finale for me. Every other movie after that takes place in an alternate universe. I am literally hoping for the series to end at this point.
To be fair, Brian was the protagonist and Dom was actually the antagonist. But it seemed that the films were trying to move away to make Brian a side character and Dom the protagonist. Ever since the fourth one.
Not really, Brian was the main character of The Fast and the Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious, Dom wasn’t really an antagonist, but another main character, ever since Fast & Furious, Dom has been the main character.
@@moonmoon2479 It’s *Brian* And Again, Not really, just because Dom was the criminal Brian was after doesn’t mean he was the antagonist. An antagonist is usually one who opposes the protagonist, Brian and Dom never had that type of relationship, although they did have some conflicts between each other at the start.
Vin Diesel bought a share of the rights of the franchise along with Universal and had producer cred. His say and 'presence' became more and more of a mainstay (as we are all well aware by this point!) in the series since Fast 4
@@asiemsanki123 no he did not, he was the producer for F4 but he doesn't own any part of the rights, you're confusing it with his Riddick deal, he appeared in Tokyo drift in exchange for the full rights to the Riddick franchise and a producers role in F4
I'm convinced Vin took all the ideas he wanted for a potential xXx film franchise and just merged them into the Fast franchise. He turned Dom Toretto into Xander Cage.
I never watched fast and furious, but seeing the trailers and stunts ramp up to where they are over the years, XXX has always been in the back of mind and every year they release a new onw i think "it's looking more and more like that shitty Vin Diesel movie i wanted to see when i was little...."
Furious 7 really was the best place for the series to end as it pretty much tied up all the loose ends. Han’s death was avenged, Letty got her memories back, and Brian and Mia got to retire in peace. It even had multiple callbacks to the first movie, making it feel like a full circle. I still enjoy most of the post-7 movies, but I don’t really consider them canon due to all the retcons they introduce.
I agree, without Paul Walker and his Brian it's not the same. I really miss his character, I just feel so bad Walker passed away, he was the reason I liked the first two movies in the first place, he is a lot more relatable than the Toretto
It very well could be but further back. It is a rumor, and another video, that the whole series from after he crashed in the first movie is that. It is all just a fever dream and he is in a coma in a Hospital in custody. @@nman551
Yea,pretty much same for me. 1 and 2 was the best edge maybe going to 1. 3 was really fun but missed the og characters. 4 was a little...dower and didn't have enough car culture and energy. 5 was ok but it kinda started the whole mission impossible BS but was still fun. But yea the first two are prob the best car/race movies ever From 6 onwards it just sucked IMHO. They really did just get worse with each sequel
In some ways this is not dissimilar, although far more severe to the Pirates Of The Caribbean problem Disney ran into post-At World’s End. Dom Toretto like Jack Sparrow might be the face of the franchise on a commercial level but it was Brian O Connor that was the Will Turner of this franchise. You need the two of them bouncing off each other, the idealistic cop and the veteran criminal. That uneasy relationship that blossomed eventually into friendship was the heart of Fast. You try to go beyond the endpoint of that arc without a suitable counterpoint and you’re essentially watching a group of high tech outlaws voluntarily choose to work for the government that previously hunted them to save the world. The only time that worked for Fast is 7 because they needed something the Government had.
The thing is they could have had something similar with Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. The relationship foundation isn’t too different than Dom and Brian’s and Luke is also a lawman. But unfortunately they couldn’t get along.
@@MrMgkman13the problem with that is that both Dwayne and Vin play the same type of characters, there isn't much of a difference if Dwayne's character is a lawman. There wouldn't be any chemistry of counterparts interactions. Dwayne, Vin, Statham and so many other actors play the same characters, there isn't really anything that separates them... Paul Walker AND his character were completely different from any of them...
I like how they introduced Dom's Grandma (and, for some reason, not Mom), but then totally ignored her when they established that Dante was going after Dom's entire family. Like, why wouldn't Jakob take her with (sigh) Lil' B? Or can she fight, too?
I think she is part of Mr. Nobodys leadership. When there is a vote to give Jack Reacher power, the Los Angeles representative votes no. I think thats her.
Then there's Brian. I know why Dante can't go after him in real life, but in-story Brian and his kids are vulnerable. Mia is in the new movie, but she doesn't know about Dante's vengeance quest and has no idea their family is in danger before agents break in the door. And I'm pretty sure there's no dialog later where somebody mentions calling Brian to give him a heads up. That's the problem when you want to write a character out, but still use every other character that ever appeared in the series. How do you exclude him specifically?
When I heard See You Again in theaters again after the beginning, that teared me up a bit. Overall Fast X was a huge improvement on the franchise. It's one of the most intense Fast and Furious films to date since Furious 7.
Same I really enjoyed F10, esp when compared to F8-F9. TO me I genuinely laughed so much and was entertained by the movie. Jason Momoa did a good job too, like defientlly helped the movie to be better. Even if im like a fan of the first three, like i started with those, I still enjoyed this.
I fucking loved Fast X. Fast 9 has been the only movie in the franchise that's actually made me mad. I will NEVER say the Fast and Furious are quality movies (Although I still feel 1-3 are pretty solid) but I went to go see Fast X with my brother in theatres and had a fucking blast. The rule of the Fast movies for me have always been "turn your brain off and enjoy the ride" because otherwise you're going to be dissecting everything and it will ruin the experience. Multiple times during the movie my brother and I started going "But how" "What" and thinking and then we'd lean over to each other and go "No. Stop. Don't think about it." Is that the ideal way to enjoy movies? Probably not. I shouldn't have to turn my brain off. But I'll be fucked if I don't have a fucking blast with these movies when I meet them at their level and don't try to think of them as super high art with a message. They're loud, dumb, messy movies and I have such a soft spot for them now. Although Tess' character was an absolute nothing burger and contributed nothing to the movie, Letty was a fucking idiot, and their trying to dance around mentioning or talking about Paul Walker is really egregious.
The only movie I had my brain 'on' for was John Wick 4, especially seeing it the second time. In terms of an action movie spectrum, I'd say Fast and Furious is hovering around the lower middle, with franchises like John Wick nearer to the top
5 was the perfect end. A group of criminals with enough money to buy their freedom… and the ending, No wagers, no body else just you and me one last race once and for fall” Such a perfect ending
Momoa did a great job, basically the movie works just because of him... his is having fun acting as Dante. No words could be said about Dom and his "family".
I hate conveniences. HATE. Everything is just so tied up in a bow you know. Brie Larson's character just happens to be Mr nobody's daughter who just happens to have had become a really good agent. Dom just so happens to have a brother that nobody has hears about 8 movies in. Han just happens ro have faked his death so he could go undercover working for someone, which just happens to be Mr nobody. Dom's baby moma happens to have a sister in Rio which just hapoens to be a racer and just happens to be racing dom and Dante, who just happens to be the villian of a BRAZILIAN from the 5 movie even though in no way is Dante a brazilian name nore does he even look like one. I HATE THIS!!!
See this guy gets it. Everybody's too busy being an apologist for the movie instead taking the story seriously and realizing its a steaming pile of horse shit that cant even be compared to the previous movies.
well the FF franchise had to tick the long lost didnt know such and such existed box. theyve already checked most of the cliche franchise tropes. now they are boxed in. the needless crossover with whatever franchise is coming. Im betting on NFS or somehow convincing a producer to sweet talk the Bond rights holders into a Bond crossover
The only difference between F9 and Fast X are the villains. Fast X is mainly praised for Jason Momoa but besides the space scene, it basically plays out as an F9 part 2.
Loved this franchise. Made me buy and restore my Charger. But F8 and F9 were both horrible. Fast X is a huge improvement on both. They try to infuse a bit more of the OG entries of the franchise and start to become a bit meta. No more space, nuclear submarines, but cars (and a big bomb). It is finally a fun movie with an epic Jason Momoa. Fast X is fun to watch again, unlike 8 and 9
8 is awesome, but 9 was mediocre, the massive failure that was crossroads didn't do 9 any favors. X was fantastic. enough said. As long as they keep car chases on earth, im ok with that, honestly.
@@MrMonsterKen I agree with F9, it was pretty bad, I liked The Fate of the Furious, but I don’t think it’s good, Fast X isn’t great either but much better than the last two.
@@josephamato2031 What do you expect? new ground? a new franchise entirely? If it ain't broke, why fix it? The only problem is if they go TOO far with the action scenes, I don't have any problems with the franchise so far, except the Space scene.
I honestly find it hilarious, that you're a defender of Fate of the Furious. I remember watching that movie at a press screening and hating myself for it. It's when the Fast films really became just a meaningless chronicle of various action set pieces, that were sadly not well edited together a lot of the time.
I love Aquamans character in this precisely because it's so camp and over the top. The franchise usually plays everything serious, despite how absurd it is, so it's nice to have a character that's just like 'fuck it, I'm going to act like Jim Carey in the 90s and be weird as fuck', at least it's SOMETHING new and different for the first time since F7.
So glad you mentioned that bit in this video, that people forget Paul Walker was the MAIN character in this franchise, not Vin Diesel. Brian was the main character in the first few films, then in the 4th film him and Dom were the 2 main characters side by side, but starting from the 5th movie Brian becomes a side character. That’s when the movies get so unrelatable and unrealistic. That’s why in my opinion the first few movies will always be the best because they have that special charm of having Brian as the grounded hero.
I’m one of the apparently rare fans of both F8 and the franchise as a whole. But F9 was absolutely awful. And yes, Fast X was a bit of an improvement but still nowhere near what the franchise used to be. And many of the reasons why you describe well.
I absolutely loathed part 9 and enjoyed Fast X, and as much as I really enjoy this series it should have ended after part 5 and DEFINITELY should have ended after part 7.
For me the "original" FF ends with Tokio drift. Up until that point the franchise was about driving, street racing and car tuning. Yes there was some kind of down to earth and easy to follow plot including Dom, Brian and Sean, but the man protagoninsts were the cars! Back then each car was iconic and felt like a "character" in the movies. Trying to make the franchise bigger, they moved from street racing and cars to secret intelligence agencies, technology mumbo jumbo, satelites and tons of hacking. Characters became so many, with even more comming back from the dead and it's obvious that the plot can't efficiently use them all. Not knowing what to do next, the franchise collapsed under its' own weight to the point it just got silly, sending cars with duct-taped rockets to space. To sum it all up, if you expect anything remotely "serious" from this franchise i think it's long gone. For me FF got so bad to the point where it's good - same way The Room from Tommy Wiseau is so bad that ends up being good. With this mindset i'll go watch the remaining movies. No expectations whatsoever, i'll just go laugh with whatever weird shit they come up with, followed by cringy lines. If there is one thing i'm expecting, and knowing that Vin Diesel will surely try to recreate the equivalent of "Avengers Assemble" scene as a big ending for the franchise, is to see Brian comming back one last time.
Exactly it went from street racing to mission impossible and the jack reacher, hell at the way the franchise is going i wouldn't even be surprised if Schwarzenegger is in it as Dom's Grandpa! LoL
You nailed the Paul Walker sized hole in this franchise and the lack of real effort on the writer’s and producer’s part since Furious 7. I’m just so disconnected to all these characters that I grew to love in the past, they just aren’t the same people and it’s not the same reality as Furious 7. I just feel like it’s really flown off the hinges with Fate, Hobbs and Shaw and F9
I kinda wanted a prequel with Fast 9's young dom. That actor nailed it and the flashbacks qere the best part, it captured the essence of the first movies so well
I am not gonna lie. I had a lot of fun with Fast X. It was a big improvement over Fate of the Furious, Hobbs and Shaw, and F9, and really just gave me a great fun time. Jason Mamoa certainly was the best part of the movie for me but I loved all of the side quests and character interactions, along with the over the top nature of the action sequences. They made me smile a lot, despite all of its flaws. And yeah, it is dumb to make us think that most of the characters are dead, when they really aren’t, but I think that’s all part of the dumb fun of the franchise. So Fast X gets a big thumbs up from me. Had lots of fun with it!
@@DillonCattersonDon't put someone down just cause you don't like a movie. Sure, it's bad, but if someone likes it...let them, don't act like you're better than them just because they like something that you don't.
I can't disagree with a lot the points here but I'm still happy these big dumb movies are still chugging along. Furious 7 was the real ending for me. 8 & 9 started to wear me out but I liked Fast X better than both of those imo despite it's myriad issues. F9 seemed to lean juuuuuusssttt a bit too much into wink-wink territory for me and Fast X, imo, walked it back a little and the action felt more "grounded" for the lack of a better word.
@@FilmSpeak I'm currently watching all the videos about fast and furious movies and videos like your make me think about how I would have done the franchise
At this point I’m rooting for the villain in the fast and furious movies so that we can end this shit show but they’d probably just reincarnate every character that dies
8:50 I think seeing this movie really opened my eyes. Watching that plane fall out the sky and I’m sitting here thinking to myself….there gonna be completely fine 🤣. This franchise is DONEZO
This movie was so much more fun than F9. Jason Mamoa really stole the show as the villain, most of the action was more (relatively lol) grounded, and it felt like they knew what to do with characters like Han a bit more. John Cena is also infinitely more enjoyable here. I doubt they series will ever reach the highs of F7 and before, but I enjoyed X a hell of a lot more than the last two!
Jason brought a ton of comedy to the film, and you can tell its because he's based his entire life around bringing suffering to Dom, while positively enjoying the hell out of the process. He quite literally lives for it
Fast X in a nutshell: -Retcons up the yin-yang(Dante Reyes is a villain that is also a retcon and shouldn't exist). -Death means nothing(due to the main family having the no losing a fight in their contracts among other things). -John Cena's character(who is also a retcon) has a different personality from F9. -Brie Larson plays basically Captain Marvel without the super powers and everyone loves her for simply existing. -Breaking immersion due to the insanity of the things they can do.
Honestly, the new protagonist was perfect. The dark humor (especially when he was sitting with the dead bodies), the unstoppable killing spree. The Family had fear with him, it was perfect.
When a movie doesn’t die naturally, it begins to have ridiculous moments like John wick 4, those who have seen it know what I’m talking about. Franchises are not meant to last for ever, unless they’re spin-offs created from them.
Finally seeing people sharing the same thoughts. I always think Paul's Brian was the fitting main character, and diesel's being the mentor that sometimes saved the day. It doesn't work to center around Dom, it made his character a blend of a mentor with the struggles of thd student, you can't just throw all the typical character development issues onto one single character, even worse a mentor/leader character. The story would be better with Brian gradually becoming the leader and Dom retires, not the other way around. It's like Simon and Kamina situation for those that know Gurenn Lagann. Unfortunate Paul is gone, that's the last fast movie I watched, it's a fitting end.
In the first movie Dom was a mentor but also shown to be a deeply troubled man with anger issues and an unsustainable lifestyle. His greed causes the desth of Vince in the first movie. Now he's just a Mary Sue
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who really enjoyed F8 but even though I really enjoyed it, it wasn’t exactly needed and Furious 7 felt like the true ending of the series
I stopped at 7. I legit thought with Scott Eastwood's character would replace Brian O'Connor and be set up as the new co-protagonist. And yeah, that didn't happen. 😅
I'm just glad Jason Mamoa had fun. Also, this one felt really bad for me because I felt the movie kinda peaked with the rocket league section. It never got any stronger after that. I watch these movies for insane shit and it's pretty bad when the insane shit peaks in the first 30 minutes.
I did It For the first time many years ago. It's a freeing experience. I've never sat through more than half of a movie I wasn't enjoying since then. Usually it's much less than that. Usually you can tell if something is going to be shit within the first 15 minutes or less. I suppose it would be more painful to do it for the first time given modern ticket prices though.
Dumb guy man. You know exactly what you sign up for when you go to see these movies. They’re absolutely insane and ridiculous but you can have fun with them.
Fast 8 was eh too many dumb moments. Didn’t even watch Fast 9. Fast X was alright. Jason Mamoa was the best part cause he knows how stupid this whole franchise is and had fun with the role.
Completely Agree with You that This Franchise is Paul Walker’s,NOT Vin Diesel,Fast Five is the Best of the Franchise,Furious 7 is the Perfect Ending that Needed to put the Breaks, and Hobbs and Shaw was a Fun Spinoff, the Rest is a Former Shell of Itself that doesn’t Work.
Too much was going on. It was all about Vin. I don't understand why, we don't even know the other characters family. I keep rolling my eyes throughout the movie lol
SPOILER::::: Its so true. I didn't care one bit when the big plane was shot down in this movie. because it crashed behind a hilltop I just assumed they got away safe and so that scen did not hurt me emotionaly for one moment.
I disagree with the characters of Brian and Dom, Brian was the main character of The Fast and the Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious, but Dom then became the main character ever since Fast & Furious. Though Brian was still very much an important character.
In the movie, furious seven there is a scene in which Mr. nobody and Brian and Dominic and a team of special ops guys go into a warehouse and have a shoot out. It’s later on revealed that Mr. nobody was wearing armor underneath his suit, and he almost killed. All of the special ops guys are wearing heavy body armor and they are all killed. Meanwhile, Dominic and Brian are only wearing jeans and a T-shirt, and yet are somehow the only two that make it out of their unharmed without a scratch. That just doesn’t make sense at all under any circumstance no matter how you look at it.
The thing about Cypher was that she was built up to be the ultimate mastermind, the reason why 6 and 7 took place as she wanted Gods Eye and that chip thing. I honestly thought it was cool how they made her the reason why the antagonists in those movies wanted those powerful objects, as I don't recall the movie explaining why they wanted said powerful object. Like you, I enjoyed Fate of the Furious and I honestly couldn't wait for the team to face off with Cypher again...only for her to be side lined twice.
Exactly!! This is what made me hate what they did with Cipher in this movie. Films 8 and 9 clearly set her up as the big bad main antagonist of the entire Fast and The Furious franchise similar to how Thanos was to the MCU. But now, it seems like they’re gonna have her be part of the family?
0:35 The soul of the franchise was always Paul Walker's Brian O'Connor. He was the one we as the audience could relate to in Fast and Furious movie. Once Paul died and Brian was written off, it never was the same to be honest. Furious 7 was the last time I was invested in a Fast and Furious movie and even though 8 and 9 had some great moments, it was not the same. Really does say a lot when the only thing I loved about Fast X is when Dom was looking at those old photos in his garage and the See You Again instrumental kicks in and also when Dom saved Elena's sister Isabella and gave the cop and a street racer have a lot in common speech.
It’s ridiculous, but it’s believable within the context of the film. Plus A LOT of that movie has fairly practical and believable action set pieces. Yeah that ONE moment is pushing it, but I still buy it. When your whole movie is that one moment…it becomes too much.
Dante and John Cenas character were the only memorable parts of the movie, kept forgetting I was watching a Fast movie. My husband always brings up How ridiculous it was to watch Dom bring down two helicopters with his car
Funny you said that, cos we just finished watching FastX with my GF and she told me that. John Wick 4 did a better Job at car scenes that FastX. And she was a huge fan of Fast franchise.
I was just thinking about this the other day, so I fully agree: the franchise should have died with Paul Walker. Brian truly was the heart and soul of those movies (except for Tokyo Drift, obviously). Without him the Fast Saga is just Vin Diesel's Dom fan-fiction.
One of the points I agree with 100% is they team being in no real danger. They point them in so many fatal situations but you already know their not going to die. Even if they did they probably be back in a future movie.
what's Dante so pissed for, like for all we know even his fucking father just faked his death like everyone else in this universe to come back for the sequels
I watched this movie on an online site. My honest opinion about this movie: Stuff happens and then keeps on happening till the credits roll with some random emotional scenes thrown in the mix. 😂😂
I loved Fast X. Felt like Infinity War and scared about what’s going happen to the characters next. Dante is by far the most terrifying villain of the franchise yet.
The only thing I agree with is the location cards. Those were indeed, awful. Otherwise, this series turned into a manga/anime/soap opera a long time ago. They can make a hundred of them if they want. I'm here for it lol.
Haha. This reminded me of watching a video where someone put together every time they say family from all of the movies that existed at the time, I think up to 9. It must have been at least an hour.
The Fate of the Furious is your favorite F&F movie? Interesting, you're gonna need a video explaining why it's your favorite. To me, Furious 7 is my favorite in the franchise.
F8 is awesome in ways you wouldn't understand anyway. F8 was good over the top action, while F9 went TOO over the top. FX is already better and just as awesome as Fast Five, they really learned their lesson from 9.
@@frozenwishstudios Well, there are some viewpoints where they point out the stinkers of the franchise, as well as somethings worth watching, based on how much of a good thrill ride it is, and not entitled to ones concept.
This is really funny to me, F8 is my favorite which surprised me but I guess it is. Mostly cause of the beginning of it being so good. Furious 7 is my least favorite (obviously still like the ending and all everyone else loves too the music, tbh a lot of other things I loved but they were mostly aesthetic tbh) cause I couldn't deal with the cringey writing, idk what went wrong but a lot of the writing specially the jokes are just so cringe it's just bad and painful (only slightly less painful than all the women's bodies shoved in our faces, and not a single man's ass except for that one flight attendant... Uh. Ok that's an issue of the film industry not these movies in particular lol they're allowed to exist as long as others make up for it)
I'm gonna get killed for this but Hobbs and Shaw is probably my favourite Fast and Furious franchise film. The main story though it would probably be the first one.
Ya you’re probably gonna see a comment like this a lot on this video but for my money FF ended with #7 and the send off of Brian’s character even on the Boxset I own that has all the movies up to 8 I only ever watch up to 7
Yeah it really did. I still contend 8 is a nice epilogue that wraps up Dom's story but truly, yeah it ended with 7 and they should've just focused on spinoffs if they wanted to continue it. Go smaller not bigger.
I want a Katamari film. Also, I got the sense of sensory overload in F8 of the Furious. Not an outright ruining, just a sense. I was done at that point.
I’m just now getting interested in this franchise with Fast X😅 I like the dumb fun of it. It’s not to be taken seriously in the slightest. But not every movie has to be like that. Just so long as they don’t milk Paul Walker then it should be fine.
The subtle references to him are great. And the ending of F9 was by far the greatest one, I remember pretty vividly the entire cinema room *screaming* as the R34 drove up the hill, a lot of people had tears in their eyes, myself included
I walked out of the theatre when that ball kept rolling and rolling without even being downhill at times. That scene where Jason Momoa is in some bridge and he is supposedly watching the cars drive even though they are who knows how many miles away and blocked by buildings from his view.
I'm glad if you dig em! Hell, I even like 8. I think movies can be dumb fun for sure...I just feel like they've lost the fun part have become just dumb. Each entry becomes increasingly more irritating.
I respect how you feel on the series but I couldn’t disagree more with your points. I never took any of these movies seriously. The minute you do it takes the fun out. I also personally believe that you don’t have to feel or think about every movie in existence. It’s fine to turn your brain completely off and just enjoy what’s on the screen. I’ve told my friends and colleagues that these movies are video games to me, A real life GTA in a sense. I do care about the characters quite a lot, I grew up with them so I invested that time. I understand that 7 is the last movie for a lot of fans and I respect it. With that I just say stop watching them. The finale was 7, you don’t have to watch anymore no one is forcing a gun to your head to continue. I also will bring up what Ludacris said on why these movies are still going “they make a lot of money so why would they stop?” Idk I just feel like a lot of people put too much thought into these movies unnecessarily. Just sit and enjoy or not and stop watching it’s really that simple. But great video nonetheless!
Yeah, Fast and Furious is one of the franchises that highlights how you just need to sit back and enjoy shit, don't over analyse it. Even with franchises like John Wick where you CAN analyse them, I find it better to just not.
For me it wasn’t the loss of paul walkee that made me dislike the fast series it was the transition from street racing/heist films to the batshit crazy concept the least qualified espionage/superhero films
The franchise died at 7 with Paul Walker he was the heart and soul and a true car guy and had the most development Vin has not evolved and has been the same character since Fast Five and it just got too over the top and it wasnt fun anymore and it has no stakes they keep bringing back dead characters and no one really gets hurt there just doing it for money and because they know they have nothing else franchise just keeps getting worse as it goes along
This franchise has become pure spectacle and is actually kind of awesome. Watched it with the whole family of all age groups and we all enjoyed it for what it was a popcorn flick. Nothing to take too serious but enjoyable none the less. If you watch it you know what I'm talking about so many crazy stunts. It's unreal what it's supposed to be. The original fast and furious was inspired by Racer X. Most of the people that dislike the latest few movies for good reason are more than likely the ones who remember how the franchise started. So I understand why they don't like the new movies
@kareemmelendez5526 I get it. But understand this is fiction. Yes, I do agree with you. The way Brian and Dom road off on their own path at the end was one of the most beautiful moments in film history. No argument, but there are more films, and you should have stopped watching if that's how you feel. But if you watch simply to hate watch, what's the point. Enjoy it or watch anything else.
@@TheKillaMethod no one is saying that narratively 7 was the perfect way to end the franchise the ones after are just cash grabs because they are greedy they don't really serve the story purpose and a lot of people say it should have ended at 7 and the movies have gotten worse and box office has gone down since 7
@kareemmelendez5526 nah, I disagree, Paul Walkers death is the perfect way to end the franchise. You're not a real fan. Watch the end of the road scene at the end of 7. Narratively speaking, franchise wise, worldwide box office l. Whatever you want, it was actually the perfect ending.
For me Fast X seized the audience's attention from the start and refuses to let go. The film doesn't waste anytime immersing us in a world of fast automobiles, risky stunts, and breathtaking set pieces. The pursuit sequences are flawlessly choreographed, with jaw-dropping moments that keep you on the edge of your seat. The spectacular visual effects and practical effects merged flawlessly to provide a really immersive experience. There is a heaven, and it’s the Fast and Furious Franchise

Fast 7 is the true franchise finale for me. Every other movie after that takes place in an alternate universe. I am literally hoping for the series to end at this point.
PRAYING for it at this point lol. Agreed. F7 is the real end and I say that as someone who genuinely likes 8.
Fast Five was the true finale. Everybody got rich and spread to their own thing living happily
@@utbplay Fast 6 was awesome. I wouldnt like the franchise if it ended at five.
Fast 8 is as far as I’ll go tbh it’s sad at this point
Nah The Fast and The Furious was the real ending.
@@chriscarrera1172 he was. He was the criminal Bryan was after. He’s the central reason that story has conflict.
@@moonmoon2479 It’s *Brian*
And Again, Not really, just because Dom was the criminal Brian was after doesn’t mean he was the antagonist.
And Momoa's character in the film was like Lex Luther and The Joker put together as one.
Agreed
They should’ve been ended at fast 7 not continuing milking the franchise dry which now it’s running on fumes cuz Vin Diesel is out of gas
@@Redmist-se7ld make them stop, don't watch new movies
In my opinion, Fast 1-5 is the true series. Fast 6-10 is Dom's dreams.
It’s all in le head?!
But yea the first two are prob the best car/race movies ever
From 6 onwards it just sucked IMHO. They really did just get worse with each sequel
FAST 4 WAS SLEPT ON
@@nman551I understood that reference.
She does wheelies in her golfcart though, she's too fast, and probably a bit furious as well...
Dom is in a coma. He never woke up from the crash in first movie lol But after watching fast X, this is my last ride.
When I heard See You Again in theaters again after the beginning, that teared me up a bit. Overall Fast X was a huge improvement on the franchise. It's one of the most intense Fast and Furious films to date since Furious 7.
I'm really glad you liked it!
Fast X was better than 9 but it was still mid as hell
Same I was holding back tears
Same I really enjoyed F10, esp when compared to F8-F9. TO me I genuinely laughed so much and was entertained by the movie. Jason Momoa did a good job too, like defientlly helped the movie to be better. Even if im like a fan of the first three, like i started with those, I still enjoyed this.
@@EazyRocko wouldn’t say that
I fucking loved Fast X.
Stop. Don't think about it."
Is that the ideal way to enjoy movies? Probably not. I shouldn't have to turn my brain off. But I'll be fucked if I don't have a fucking blast with these movies when I meet them at their level and don't try to think of them as super high art with a message. They're loud, dumb, messy movies and I have such a soft spot for them now.
Although Tess' character was an absolute nothing burger and contributed nothing to the movie, Letty was a fucking idiot, and their trying to dance around mentioning or talking about Paul Walker is really egregious.
Definitely right.
Turn your brain off because it's a movie, not a test.
fast X is definitely a lot of fun and way better than part 8 and 9.
@@thehungrydominican I agree.
I agree Fast 9 made me feel annoyed it was so stupid.
The only movie I had my brain 'on' for was John Wick 4, especially seeing it the second time.
In terms of an action movie spectrum, I'd say Fast and Furious is hovering around the lower middle, with franchises like John Wick nearer to the top
5 was the perfect end. A group of criminals with enough money to buy their freedom… and the ending, No wagers, no body else just you and me one last race once and for fall”
Such a perfect ending
Momoa did a great job, basically the movie works just because of him... his is having fun acting as Dante. No words could be said about Dom and his "family".
I will never understand why these movies keep making money... Never will.
because people that arent miserable love them
I hate conveniences.
Im betting on NFS or somehow convincing a producer to sweet talk the Bond rights holders into a Bond crossover
if your that miserable then dont watch it simple keep crying about it
How do you look Brazilian?
I couldn’t agree more that it should’ve ended after Walker passed, he was the soul of this franchise.
Fast X was definitely an improvement over F9..
The only difference between F9 and Fast X are the villains. Fast X is mainly praised for Jason Momoa but besides the space scene, it basically plays out as an F9 part 2.
9 was a modern disgrace to modern cinema
Loved this franchise. Made me buy and restore my Charger. But F8 and F9 were both horrible.
Fast X is a huge improvement on both. They try to infuse a bit more of the OG entries of the franchise and start to become a bit meta. No more space, nuclear submarines, but cars (and a big bomb). It is finally a fun movie with an epic Jason Momoa. Fast X is fun to watch again, unlike 8 and 9
agreed! i thought X was a lot of fun, way better than part 8 and 9, and finally leaned into how friggin' silly these movies are
8 is awesome, but 9 was mediocre, the massive failure that was crossroads didn't do 9 any favors.
Not even close for improvement. More the same
@@josephamato2031 What do you expect? new ground? a new franchise entirely? If it ain't broke, why fix it? The only problem is if they go TOO far with the action scenes, I don't have any problems with the franchise so far, except the Space scene.
I loved fast 5 and liked fast and furious 4. After that, these films got to over the top for me. Paul Walker was the heart of the franchise.
couldn’t agree more, personally my fav is 2f2f maybe due to the nostalgic aspect of it
I honestly find it hilarious, that you're a defender of Fate of the Furious. I remember watching that movie at a press screening and hating myself for it. It's when the Fast films really became just a meaningless chronicle of various action set pieces, that were sadly not well edited together a lot of the time.
i absolutely hated part 8, that's when i wanted to walk away... and then part 9 happened and i wanted to run away lol
The Fate of the Furious, is enjoyable to me but not good, F9 is much worse, and Fast X is better than those two.
I’m a fan of F8 too!!
Should've ended at 7, the honor for Paul Walker would've been the righteous conclusion in the franchise, had Universal not made F8 and more
That last reveal actually made me sad. Like, they have nothing to do but repeat plots from better versions of their own thing.
I absolutely loathed part 9 and enjoyed Fast X, and as much as I really enjoy this series it should have ended after part 5 and DEFINITELY should have ended after part 7.
They signed contracts for ten movies back when the franchise started, they're just pushing this tenth one to be three parts
Still would love to see a Tokyo Drift sequel with Sean as the main character agaib
I just want to understand why Don and Elena's son is black when both of them are white. That's the biggest unexplained mistery in the series.
VIN DIESLE HA S SAID HIS FATHER WAS/IS COLORED,,,,DID N OT SAy if hes black or whatever though
@@femiezra5329I thought Vin was half black
LoL
I hadn't even thought of that. Paul Walker was the center of this entire saga. And it was left in the hands of a side character. Dayum.....
where the hell did Mom Toretto come from all of a sudden?!
Hobbs and Shaw was a damn good spinoff and ill stick by that until I die

F9 seemed to lean juuuuuusssttt a bit too much into wink-wink territory for me and Fast X, imo, walked it back a little and the action felt more "grounded" for the lack of a better word.
I can see that! Yeah for sure especially with Roman and Tej this go around.

I think seeing this movie really opened my eyes.
He quite literally lives for it
Glad to find someone else who appreciates The Fate Of The Furious. That movie is great!
The CGI bothered the hell out of me man it was so bad
Fast X in a nutshell:
-Retcons up the yin-yang(Dante Reyes is a villain that is also a retcon and shouldn't exist).

I enjoyed The Fate of the Furious, but it’s the second worst movie in the franchise.
2 & 3 & 9 & Hobbs and Shaw are worse than 8, then 10
I look back on F8 and yeah I can't say I rate it as high as I would the other ones, but it's still a good movie

Nolan said he loves Tokyo Drift… if he only Dark Knightifed Fast and furious.
When Han came back I thought finally we're gonna get a tokyo drift sequel but man I doubt thats ever happening :(
0:35 The soul of the franchise was always Paul Walker's Brian O'Connor.
Don jumping from one car to another in fast 4 dude it’s always been like this
It’s ridiculous, but it’s believable within the context of the film. Plus A LOT of that movie has fairly practical and believable action set pieces. Yeah that ONE moment is pushing it, but I still buy it. When your whole movie is that one moment…it becomes too much.

Stuff happens and then keeps on happening till the credits roll with some random emotional scenes thrown in the mix.
Haha.

F8 is awesome in ways you wouldn't understand anyway. F8 was good over the top action, while F9 went TOO over the top. FX is already better and just as awesome as Fast Five, they really learned their lesson from 9.

Universal Studious are already considering digging Paul Walker up for the sequel.
Fast 7 was by far my favorite film idc man! Seing jason stahman was crazy
I want a Katamari film. Also, I got the sense of sensory overload in F8 of the Furious. Not an outright ruining, just a sense. I was done at that point.
The franchise was always about Brian and doms relationship without Brian the chemistry isn’t there
I’m just now getting interested in this franchise with Fast X😅
I like the dumb fun of it.
I liked Fast X. In all honesty I liked it a lot more than 8 and 9. These movies are dumb fun. I think they should be allowed to be just that.
I'm glad if you dig em! Hell, I even like 8. I think movies can be dumb fun for sure...I just feel like they've lost the fun part have become just dumb. Each entry becomes increasingly more irritating.
@@FilmSpeak yeah, there's so much of this movie where I was like what the fuck is this because of how dumb it was played out.
I disagree AS HELL. Fast X is one of the worst movie I've seen in my entire life. It's so bad it gave me headache.
@@FilmSpeak ur just mad at everything lmao accept that
@@johnatanmachadoyt Lmao Ur so pressed its actually cringey. I mean someone who will only look at the negatives will think negatively
I loved your into how Fast and Furious was really a Brian O'Connor. Especially those earlier movies
Thank you everyone is so film snobby lol it’s a dumb movie
For me it wasn’t the loss of paul walkee that made me dislike the fast series it was the transition from street racing/heist films to the batshit crazy concept the least qualified espionage/superhero films
Cool, embrace the ridiculousness.
I'd even go as far as to say that Dom has devolved over the years, becoming a parody of himself (just like the franchise has after Furious 7)
Facts
“These films don’t work without Brian “absolute facts
This franchise has become pure spectacle and is actually kind of awesome. Watched it with the whole family of all age groups and we all enjoyed it for what it was a popcorn flick. Nothing to take too serious but enjoyable none the less. If you watch it you know what I'm talking about so many crazy stunts. It's unreal what it's supposed to be. The original fast and furious was inspired by Racer X. Most of the people that dislike the latest few movies for good reason are more than likely the ones who remember how the franchise started. So I understand why they don't like the new movies
The franchise died at 7 with Paul Walker
The best part of Fast X was Dante and he was basically dollar store Joker
For me Fast X seized the audience's attention from the start and refuses to let go. The film doesn't waste anytime immersing us in a world of fast automobiles, risky stunts, and breathtaking set pieces. The pursuit sequences are flawlessly choreographed, with jaw-dropping moments that keep you on the edge of your seat. The spectacular visual effects and practical effects merged flawlessly to provide a really immersive experience. There is a heaven, and it’s the Fast and Furious Franchise
