A friend and former party member passed away yesterday. He sent this song nearly 8 years ago with me and many others whom he had shared journeys with. Your words and melodies brought me back to those adventures and his infectious laughter, character immersion, and jovial spirit. Rest In Peace Joe Mills. May your next adventure be just as epic as those we shared in this life.
I've been going to school full time for what seems like forever. DnD and friends that I only get to see on the weekends make the tiring schedule bearable, this song pegged exactly how relaxing it can be just to hang around and do something fun with friends.
This has to be the only "Geek Tribute Song" I've ever heard that didn't suck. Thank you, girl with webcam. So much better than any "professional" geek song I've heard.
Wow this song was beautiful, its an expressionistic summary of all the games Ive played, and WHY the players play. Truely a natural 20 of lyrical genius.
I have been listing to this song on and off for about 5 years. Today I accidentally killed the entire party with a Neothelid. This song really grabs why D&D is so valuable during tough times and how despite things like dodgy internet connections ruining the immersion or the session ending with the players losing, D&D offers friendship and escapism. Thanks for the song Allie.
I tried to write a comment about this, after listening to it, but I just couldn't, not a single thought, so I listened to it two more times, and, this was just such an amazing song, and such an amazing voice, I am happy to have stumbled onto this. Thank you.
There are no words in the english language that can describe how much I love this song. You've captured the essence of every nerd in existence. Great job!
I'll be honest. I almost never comment on TH-cam videos. But this song and your lovely voice touched my heart with a bit of sorrow. Yesterday we recieved the news that a fellow player on a small MMO called NEStalgia had just recently passed away from Stomach Cancer. Horren was his name. However, he wasn't just any player...He was the number one ranked player in the entire game. There was nothing he could not accomplish within the game, his skills and bravado were unmatched.
I must have listened to this at least 20 times now. You have one of the most beautiful voices I've ever head, I just can't stop listening. I even made a TH-cam account just to say this. You'll have to release some of your songs somewhere so you can hurry up and take my money.
We all can relate to this, gamers or not, because everybody has to escape the hardships of daily life, but us gamers, also happen to be able to escape with friends, and so, it makes it perhaps even sadder, when the journey ends, and you have to be up at 7 a.m, to face a workday.
From the very first line this song hit something very real. It was a surprisingly moving song and I'm in love. By the time you talk about contemplating your character's traits, about how they're strong and charismatic and all these things you wish you could be, it really brings to light the way this game, unlike any other, allows us to practice at being more than we are. And your voice, of course, was just perfect for the emotion of this piece. Just...amazing. Thank you.
Yet he was a kind man, humble and always willing to help others, even if there was nothing to be gained or came at his own expense. He was well loved by our community. Many of us are still in shock and devasted by his passing. I can't help but think of our adventures and the great times we shared as I listen to your song. Horren, you shall be missed, but always remembered... Thank you for the song.
Très belle chanson qui résume tout à fait l'ambiance et ce que l'on retrouve dans toute partie de Donjons et Dragons. Vivement une nouvelle du même acabit sur ce thème. Bravo.
Thanks for sharing this with us! I've sent this to a bunch of D&D friends who thanks to life changes or distance aren't able to game with us any longer...but we can still reminisce about the times we've had. This is a touching and nostalgic little tune, and I'll be looking forward to anything else you come up with. Thanks again.
I don't typically comment but I would like to say you have an amazing voice and that this song strikes true to the heart. I still try to get together with my friends and play every couple weeks despite our conflicting work schedules.
This is beautiful. There have always been times in my life in which d&d and other rpgs kept me going and helped me or my friends make it though rough patches and I'm glad to see others share in that experience, in a positive way. *drops a few gold coins for the bard*
I almost cried. I didn't think it was possible to make such a beautiful song about D&D. I cherish those memories of staying up late with friends rolling dice and acting out our characters. This brought them all flooding back. Thank you for this song.
Allie, I have never commented on a TH-cam post until now. Thank you for gifting us with your wonderful voice and soulful words, and reminding us of the fun of friends gaming together. Please post your song on iTunes. We'll gladly pay for it to support you. All my best. -Norm,
"He's strong and charismatic, and he doesn't look like you. Being brave's not problematic when your AC's 22." That line will stick close by me for a while. You have a beautiful voice and a your lyrics are quite evocative here, Allie. Thanks for sharing!
Definitely one of the most honest and heartfelt things I've heard in demonstrating why we play and you've managed to capture that feeling and desire wonderfully. Excellent job and thank you.
I've been on an Ingrid michaelson kick lately and then I found your music. and I wish you had several albums that I could spend my winter listening to, but I'll probably just listen to these a thousand times. I doubt they'll get old. Thank you theses songs are all enchanting.
Allie I wanted to say that this song has struck a chord in my heart, and thank you for writing and singing it. You are both beautiful and have an amazing voice.
I haven't played D&D in years, but hearing this amazing song makes me want to get out the dice and graph paper and play a game with you. Both you and the song are bewitchingly beautiful.
My favorite part about DnD is that, atleast in my group, the entire game world is in our imaginations (apart from some maps and representations of our characters so we're all on the same page). People accuse it of being the work of the devil but I think it's something like the work of God! It encourages you to think outside of the box, be creative and not get yourself killed. Thanks for this song, and your others too, I hope to hear more of them in the future and I'll definitely be subscribed.
So true! Many's the night I've fled from crappy workdays into the dungeons in the guise of all manner of fanciful heroes. This is a wonderful expression of the glories of D&D!
This song describes my life right now, D&D is always an escape for me and just a few days ago I had the first meeting of our summer campaign. Its very different cause two of my closest friends are no longer playing, one of them is currently in the hospital with pneumonia which is delaying his graduation from boot camp for the navy. Since I started playing 3 years ago I have always escaped into my fantasy worlds and D&D is one another is music and you have put them together beautifully. Thank you
Critical hit!!!! Please get this on iTunes so I can buy it!!! This was pure poetry! NEVER stop doing this- if you love music, play music!! I love this song!
Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed your song, and melodious voice. You have wonderful pitch and control. I hope your voice and songwriting take you to wonderful places. Keep up the great work.
I can't even begin to describe how much I love this song. I'm literally crying. I'm DM for my group but we haven't payed for almost a month. One of our players took his own life and we've had a very hard time of it. He was the most excited player at my table and a good friend. This song made me remember him sitting across from me, grinning at his misfortune and plotting to break my encounters however he could. it's a vivid and fond memory and I can't thank you enough for inspiring it. thank you
Wow I absolutely love it. Your song is amazing it gives me a happy feeling and I think you have a beautiful voice. I think you will be famous!! Good luck.
Amazing! I'm a former D&D player, but my group is scattered and I'm struggling to pay the rent, so no more roleplay for me. I miss those nights when I could be smarter, stronger and braver, just like in your song. But today, even missing those times with tender, it's good to realize that I can find those qualities within myself. Thank You Allie. Thumbs up for all D&D players!!!
Lol, I used to play D'n'D all the time back in the day and this took me right back to those epic battles where we'd play for 12- 15 hours straight.. Such a nerd.. lol. better times.. Thanks!
As a long time die hard gamer, poet, and music lover, I must say your song brought an honest to goodness tear to my eye. You have a lovely voice, please keep up the amazing work. I for one will keep listening.
This is brilliant. As someone whose entire life revolves around Warhammer I can really appreciate this. The bit about using it to detach yourself from everyday life really resounds with me. Cheers.
2021 and I'm still here. So many memories...
How do more people not love all of this.

I still can’t get over how much this song means to me
This has to be the only "Geek Tribute Song" I've ever heard that didn't suck. Thank you, girl with webcam. So much better than any "professional" geek song I've heard.
Quite a simple formula: a beautiful voice singing a beautiful song. Who needs anything else?
This has got to be one of the best D&D songs that is out there. Thanks much for the making and upload!
Every year or so I find this song and play it 100 times in a row!!! I love this song!
You are a young siren. I didn't want your song to end. Thanks for the beautiful experience.
This song was what I needed tonight after losing another Imperial Assault campaign. Thanks Allie.
This song is magic. Spellbound from start to finish.
Her voice is so sweet.
Wow this song was beautiful, its an expressionistic summary of all the games Ive played, and WHY the players play. Truely a natural 20 of lyrical genius.
Beautiful song. An important story that many of us share.
Great performance tonight at GeekyTeas. The DnD song is still as emotion inducing as I remembered it. Thank you for the beautiful geek inspired music.

This song never fails to make me happy. Thank you!
I'm not crying. you're crying.

This is... fantastic. Very different from any other D&D song I've heard, but by far my favorite.
Really makes me miss my DM and D&D buddies.
Yes. This is what the world needs more of.
Last played a role playing game 25 years ago, but this made me cry a bit. Nice job, hope your singing goes further.

I just found this. I love it. Best tribute song for our hobby that i have ever heard. Thanks.

all your songs are so melancholy in the best way possible
That was beautiful.

Amazing self written and composed song! Made my day. such beautiful singing and playing.
Très belle chanson qui résume tout à fait l'ambiance et ce que l'on retrouve dans toute partie de Donjons et Dragons. Vivement une nouvelle du même acabit sur ce thème. Bravo.
I have played D&D since 1985 and you have put how I feel about the game into music better than I ever could. Thank you.
I came here to give the "like" I would have done when i first saw this video, around 2012. Lucky me I managed to find it again. Love this song ♥

Wow. What a voice!!
Beautiful.
I played D n D when I was a kid -- 1976 - 1982 - and I never really left me. Snif, snif.
You said D&D, I clicked the like button.
I'm a simple man like that
"He's strong and charismatic, and he doesn't look like you. Being brave's not problematic when your AC's 22."

Instantly became my favorite song. Amazing. Congratulations, this is art.
That was amazing! You have a beautiful voice and your message delivery was perfect. If I didn't already love D&D I would now!

It's really a beautiful song, and not just because of the nostalgia factor.
My goodness. So moving. So beautiful! Thanks for capturing the fun and magic that friends share around a table.
It makes me think of all the nights I play DnD, and it makes me happy inside.
