This is so important. Never draw for free guys and girls. Always charge, appreciate your hard work. If somebody asked you something, it's because you are already valuable and that has a price. The easiest way is to charge $$/hour, and then try to estimate how much would it take to you to finish it and make it standard for your sketches, full illustrations, characters, etc. You can always update your rates after if you want too, you owe nobody anything. This also helps to raise our market economy, because if more artists start to charge less and less it starts to look like the correct amount for the average artist, when it's totally the opposite. We're responsible for how much we earn. Finally, again, always charge for it, if the client doesn't wants it, then another will come, or you can negotiate depending on the budget of your client too, it's no the same working for a big company than a single person, sometimes you can adjust your prices.

Don't slave away at something only to feel discontented when you're finished; create a realistic goal so you know how you've been doing. Then, you can find rest, knowing you've done well. How do you manage commissions if you get a lot of them at once? Like if 12 ppl commissioned something how long would that take? Do I just have to do it all at once or is there like a way I can stagger them
I was volunteered for a commission by my mum (thanks mum), and she suggested £25 for it (including her £10 cut for buying the frame for the print at the end). So I have £15 for 6 hours work. But at the same time, I don’t feel like what I’m doing is worth more than that because I’m not as good as others, and everything I do the price is negotiated then and there because I do them when someone asks

I just finished my first commission yesterday. I was very anxious and pressured because idk if I'll satisfy the client with my artwork. It went well in my opinion but I don't think I'll continue doing it YET.
