@@WildVee I never thought of it that way! I guess I will. Right now my prices are in the range of 20-40 usd, you think that’s too low? I sell rendered headshots, lineart, bases, and waist ups and they are all 40 usd or below
@@Sussusfrfr It depends on your skill level, but I think that you should sell above 40 USD, with a headshot being 40 for example. :) Personally I don't sell linearts (from my own experience, most people don't want it, they want at least a coloured piece, I only ever sold 2 or so lineart pieces whereas I've made hundreds of avatars, flat colors, cell-shaded pieces and even fully rendered artworks). Figure out how much time it takes you to complete each type of/additional work. Identify what minimum wage is in your area. Then, compare it with how much commissions of similar level and complexity as yours generally cost. These pieces of information will help you start from a base cost as if you were working hourly and identify whether you need to adjust that higher or lower depending on market demand.
A good tip I've come across is to ask 50% of the commission price upfront as a sign for you to actually go ahead and do the comm, then once it's done you give them a preview of the final product, downsized and watermarked, which gets reverted when everything is paid.

I just got here because someone commented on one of my art pose that they want to know that I'm open for a commission, FOR THE FIRST TIME. So I got nervous and didn’t expected that. :")
i got approached by scammers and nft bros for commissions lol. i still have less than a 100 following in socials so i guess no art commissions for a while. but it's great info to have.
Can we have a video or just a piece of advice on how to gain popularity in order to actually receive commissions? I have seen so many underrated artists with below 200 or even 100 followers on twitter or ig or deviantart but the art that they make is godly (and im not saying this to toot my horn here but this includes myself)
I see many artists who are not that good technically but have a good following. They mainly make similar art pieces with a specific style, aesthetic, color palette or do reels, connect with other artists, share, retweets and stuff like that. I hate this part of social media, it's also hard to find genuine art peers/friends and build a long lasting relationship online. I don't know if we are doing art or being a social media marketer. So much time that could be used to make more art or improve at it. Maybe I see it this way cause I haven't understood how social media works yet. It's for sure a necessary aspect if you want to make money through art consistently.
Twitter and IG suck for artists lately, TikTok and TH-cam/ yt shorts are the best platform for growth rn in my experience. Also, it's not just about how "good" you are, but how you connect with people. There's ppl who literally draw stick figures and get a lot of followers, so I think art skills are not that important
On Instagram I think you need to find other small artists, follow them and share their art in your story. If they notice you, then you can start a conversation, maybe form this "friendly" bond where you're not really friends but still can help each other out. If they return the favor, they might share your own art in their story and then you can grow a larger communication

I already had 2 inquiries for commissions but was too afraid to respond to them because I dont really know where to beginand how to do it ( pricing and such). This video is very informative and already excited to start :D
if you’re someone who’s having a hard time deciding what price you should do for you art, what i would suggest is to figure out what minimum wage is where you live. then, time how long it takes you to make one piece of artwork, and base your price off that. for example: a headshot for me takes about 1 hour. minimum wage where i live is 15 USD per hour, so a headshot costs 15 USD.
I’m 15 and ive been trying to find ways to earn money for a school trip im saving up for. I’ve wanted to start commissions for ages but wanted to wait till I was a decent ish age. This video really helped me out! Love your vids. (Third time coming back and watching this video while hyperfixating on commissions)
Thank you so much! This video has been very helpfull since I've been wanting to know more about commissions before deciding to do my own. Although, I'll probably have to wait some more to reach the art level I'm satisfied with. Or at least until I get enough followers to feel confident enough about announcing that I'm doing commissions. (Sry for rambling)
i think when it comes to how commissions are priced it should just be based on how valuable you think your time is. say if you had another job and very limited time to draw i think pricing your commissions higher would be totally fair! :))
Have a T&C in your form, perhaps make an agreement contract after the form. TC should state when refund is not refundable, how many complimentary edits do you allow, poses are really tricky, have them specify or have reference. Always work forward, you do not want to restart your work at any point. imagine commission work in other art form besides drawing, pieces such as sculpture or jewellery have very linear process, the clients get whatever the artist makes.

i got approached by scammers and nft bros for commissions lol. i still have less than a 100 following in socials so i guess no art commissions for a while. but it's great info to have.
you are a lifesaver
Not to toot my own horn bu-- *BEEP BEEEEEP*
I’m kidding
This voice is very calming
I NEEDED THIS VIDEO SO BAD
I need to save up money for college (and also just to have another source of money other than working at a fast food place lol) so this came at just the right time!
10/10 video, super helpful :D
I've been thinking about doing commissions lately to help pay for college, so this is helpful for me to learn how I can do that
Thank you for making this video. This was very helpful for me. I want to start making custom items and I thought I had it all figured out but watching this video made me realise things I need to do. Thank you so much.
Tysm for making this! It was such a coincidence because I was just considering to do art commissions one day.
you are my favorite artist ever. i have been trying to get into commissions and just when i was trying to start out you post. thank you very much
I am on the road to improving my art and currently doing a 30-day art challenge. I have been thinking of doing commissions. I already had 2 inquiries for commissions but was too afraid to respond to them because I dont really know where to beginand how to do it ( pricing and such). This video is very informative and already excited to start :D
thank youuuu i got my first commission today I'm so happy
NO DAMN WAY YOU DID THAT WEDNESDAY ONE I SAW ON TIKTOK I LOVE YOUR WORK!!!!!!
if you’re someone who’s having a hard time deciding what price you should do for you art, what i would suggest is to figure out what minimum wage is where you live. then, time how long it takes you to make one piece of artwork, and base your price off that.
for example: a headshot for me takes about 1 hour. minimum wage where i live is 15 USD per hour, so a headshot costs 15 USD.
I've wanted to do commissions for a while now but it didn't know how to do it. Thank you so much Bloo, for making a eazy tutorial.❤❤❤😊
This was pretty cool, I've been looking into getting commissions for some time, Wish me luck!

thank you v much!! 💗💗
Thank you so much!
This video was so informative
super helpful; thank you so much!!!!
I love the way you say Hello🥺
my fav sentence is art is a luxury not a necessity ...

tysm for this video I've been so lost on where to start but I wanna open comms!
Thank you, this has cleared up a lot confusion for me!!!!!!
First also great video I wanted to start commissions but didn’t know how
THIS IS A PERFECT VIDEO THANK YOU!!
i think when it comes to how commissions are priced it should just be based on how valuable you think your time is. say if you had another job and very limited time to draw i think pricing your commissions higher would be totally fair! :))
This video helped really much, thanks! But how do you know if your art is good enough to start comissions?
thank you i really needed this! been wanting to start taking commissions for a while now but i didnt rlly get how so tysm!
Hi hi can you give us a walkthrough on how you create the website ❤
Have a T&C in your form, perhaps make an agreement contract after the form. TC should state when refund is not refundable, how many complimentary edits do you allow, poses are really tricky, have them specify or have reference. Always work forward, you do not want to restart your work at any point. imagine commission work in other art form besides drawing, pieces such as sculpture or jewellery have very linear process, the clients get whatever the artist makes.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
